so you suggest to have creative testing with ABO, one ad per ad set to test, and then put top performing creative under CBO campaign to scale and let algorism choose which to spend? should we have a creative testing campiagn? with how much percent budget you think it would be good for a creative testing campaign
Yes, exactly those steps. We don't allocate a specific percentage of the budget for testing. But you need to be aware of how much you're spending while testing. We run tests as quickly as possible to find winning ads. We try to keep costs under a few bucks per test tho. Once we find a winner we push it into production and try to scale. And rinse and repeat because you will eventually get creative fatigue.
Hi Kevin, Just came across your content. It's refreshing to see someone else do ads like this. This is my technique and I find it effective. Most other videos just say "Facebook knows best so turn on CBO". Personally I don't see see the effectiveness of that at the start of a campaign as like you said, we want to divide money evenly to see what works. Question for you though, After running a campaign using ABO for a good while and you have turned off all non effective ads and adsets, would you keep it on ABO or would you put it on CBO without starting another campaign?
I would do both. Keep ABO campaigns running if they're performing well and start shifting them into CBO campaigns. Sometimes you will find that the ad sets/ads won't perform as well in CBO. When you go into scale mode you can test all sorts of things. For instance, sometimes duping an ad set in an ABO campaign (without making any changes to it) can get better results than the original one.
Thank you from Turkey!
My pleasure!
Hi, Kevin! Found you out today and binge watching your vids haha. Great content!
Haha thank you! Appreciate the comment. I try to release a new video each week. Feel free to give any suggestions!
What happens if you have 1 Ad Set with CBO turned on? How will that affect the Ad Set compared to what ABO would do?
It won't change anything unless you add another ad set to the campaign.

What do you mean with ”one ad per adset”? shouldnt we duplicate?
