I know many traffic police who buy Volvo for their families. They have seen countless horrific collisions, and tell me Volvos are far safer than Germans. One officer told me he saw large sedan BMW driverside fender and BOTH doors torn off by XC90 (driverside partial head-on). The four Volvo Passengers escaped uninjured via passenger-side doors. BMW driver and rear passenger died. RIP. Volvo SUV rollovers are reassuring too. The real accidents are better crash tests than laboratories. Germans are faster racetrack cars, but Volvo has better braking and durability.
This needs balance. I was just involved in an accident caused by systems over reacting causing an accident in 2023 xc40. (It wrongly jammed on b 2:43 rakes in the middle of busy intersection)
Yeah, or imagine a scenario where you want to go forward because you are about to be rear ended but the auto brakes won't let you because of a small obstacle (e.g., pole, road barrier, etc.) in front.
@@andry2826 In a lane of travel I would hope you would not have "obstacles" like a parking lot. To that point - if you're parked and the car is in PARK, where are you going to avoid something?
I wants demo of this in France. French park less than than 6 inches (13 cm) between cars. Most Americans would be frustrated and have to ask a European driver to park the car. I doubt this feature would be off much use that situation.
Dont like that u have to keep changing gears..have tesla and it does everything from change gear to put itself in park to finish..love the xc90 overall
you're disgrace to your country. You love volvos for their great design, not just because of some useless nationality, even tho it must be cool to have such a great car company in your country
the parking is cool and all but if you live in the city you won't be able to find a parking spot as big as that and that car fits in a smaller spot so the electronic system is not perfected yet.....people in america are morons when it comes to parking so I'm not surpirse they added it as it, because they can't even park a xc60 in a parking space where anybody else would be able to fit a bus. However, I can personally fit that car in a much tighter space than that so this whole electronic parking feautre is the so useless to people like me or anybody that lives in a European city like Rome, Madrid, London (even though its not anymore) or actually learned how to drive. Getting you license in the US is easier than going to the supermarket on the weekend, its horrifying
I mean i can do it in less... its useful lots of people here in the US, but it would definitely be something that I wouldn't use as I normally squeeze myself into places in the city that most driver go drive by without thinking they could fit there!
Better yet get a taxi since all the driving pleasure and skill is replaced by computer and sensors. I hate city safety, causes more problems then it solves. I got rear ended 3 times because of it getting thru traffic lights, completely brakes out of nowhere! And all the times just because I forgot to deactivate it.
They introduced this feature way back 2009 in the XC60. Lexus just had this in 2017.
To be fair Lexus cars are always behind in terms of technology
Among Audi, Mercedes, BMW Volvo is underrated

But I think BMW X7 is also safe car🙄🙄
This was the OCD model
Quite a few guys in the comment who derive their sense of identity from being able to parallel park and feel threatened by this.
Bestest car in the world 😘😘😘

You can disable it. Also the sensors need to be clean and the traffic flow behind you is not your fault.
@@tonyb7748 i guess my point is the marketing paints a picture it will avoid any accident, they never mention it could also kill you.
For sure, thats the risk we all take as drivers all the time.@@ben7020

Surprised there were no car hijackers.

Hey, can this be turned off in case I want to use some terrible self driving software?
it can be turned off
I only love volvos becuse im swedhis

First of all its called Swedish and second you cant be swedish becayse every swedish speaks english and you cant even spell...
Epicci How kind you are
@Grizzly Reaper We start with swedish very early in school and it's the second language here. Core subjects are Swedish, Math and English.
Is it so difficult to park seriously ? 😂
theo it’s not that it’s difficult, it’s just a good tool to have if you aren’t great at Parallel parking
Well if it's in the dark

@@IReapZz95 That i would like to see. Our V90 is 5 meters long, and the car can park in a spot that is only 6 meters long.

Park assist is for the weak
" Volvo Safety Features In Action "
Yeah, more like killing pedestrians.
those are uber sensors, not volvo's
@ Artim Kalash
If they are in a Volvo they ARE 'volvos' sensors. Full stop.
Not true, because its an Volvo car but all the sensors were from Uber, the volvo systems were shut off.
More like PREVENTING killing pedestrians. Had this system not been explicitly disabled by Uber it would have saved the woman's life.
