I love how Tyler always calls the enemy projectiles "slow moving projectiles", as that's what he first said when he came up with a projectile idea.

It does! It's essentially a half-Spellbinder, half-Candelabrador. Just like how Metaglio left is a half-Hollow-Heart, half-Pummarola.
@@ferfymoe2093 rather it's essentially 2 items in one: 95% spellbinder and 95% candelabrador it goes to lvl 9 which makes it have only 5% leess.

oh yeah, the white reaper was added to end the game if you achieve a build that can kill regular red reapers. basically it moves relative to the screen and not the terrain (so you can't outrun it), is immune to damage from all sources, and its attacks bypass incoming damage caps and armor via just straight up setting your max health to 0. it is unkillable by design, and even if you were to mod the game to kill it, you'd get nothing for it.
It is specifically only infinite corridor and crimson cloak that cause him, also killing ender causes it as well
@@dillydragonthetroll4119 no, anytime you kill the reaper outside of endless mode. You get a handful of golden eggs that you can see in the video, but then the white reaper appears to force your run to end.

@@noah9942. no, ONLY if you kill the reaper with Infinite corridor or Crimson cloak in your inventory. This is easily testable with massive amount of eggs or Toastie, you kill reaper without the 2 evolution the battle will go on. This is how you can do an infinite gold farm in the church like stage(cant remember the name, its the one that you fight 3 colored reapers(Green, Yellow, and Blue)).

I think that White Reaper is their to make sure that the player ends that run when they have evolved laurel and clock lancelet, because if they have it, the run will being endlessly.
runs used to be endless... there used to be a challenge of how long can you survive against the reapers and when you killed a reaper nothing happened the reapers just kept comming till you quitted or died... i remember tyler doing the challenge can't remember how long he lasted

@@Hopalongtomwrong. If you kill a red reaper with either of the two items, or if you have a limit broken item, White Hand spawns. If you had him spawn without those items it's because you play with Limit Break turned on and have an item last it's normal max level.

If you want to experiment with these weapons, I'd prefer the mad groove arcana . It will save you a lot of time collecting these items.
I think the infinite corridor deals 50% of the enemy's hp, making it a great way to kill the reaper obviously. The easiest dev intended way to do it is corridor and crimson shroud, which reduces all damage to 10 and is evolved from laurel with the left and right arrows
Tyler, For your next video i'd reccomend you to go to the map "Cappela Magna". It's gonna be fun to see your reaction once you get to the 30 minutes mark :)

White hand is basically the reapers dad coming to stomp you if you bully his son too hard (aka if you use infinite corridor or the crimson shroud to kill the reaper)
Banishing is a lot stronger the earlier in the game you use it, and especially worth using before skips and rerolls to increase your chances of getting something you want.
That said, it also means you "waste" a level on something that has no immediate benefit, and which statistically only had a chance to actually even matter, depending on if the item would have shown up again.

The merchant can sell you one extra Arcana per run. Which means instead of the standard 3 arcana, you can hold 4 instead. Please buy it from him xD
And, Banish is your friend.
He only sells extra arcana in inverse mode afaik
in endless it sells you one arcana every rotation of 30, at least I had up to 5 at the same time before I decided to quit the run. so I don't know if you can get a 6th one or not.
My favourite arcana by far has to be mad groove. Explained in an as spoiler free way as possible, it doen't give a lot of power, however massively reduces certain annoyances. I also think Aliensrock has it as I think i saw it in a previous video, it's arcana VII the tree. Also it is generally best to take it as your second or third arcana as it does not help in the slightest in the early game.

I evolved red hood and garlic, and got a basic lancet, and couldn't die with 15 reapers. Had to abandon manually.
I’m not sure you can call them slow moving projectiles if they move as fast as the enemies and there are no faster projectiles to compare them to.

You know, I actually thought evolved clock lancet would fire a wave. That, or a laser like evolved guns.

Although you like playing with the cards you are dealt, I think you should still use your banishes more liberally. If there's an item or weapon you know you won't use you might as well banish it instead of skip. For example when you "skipped" the blue gun you might as well have banished instead because you knew you werent going to go for the blue red gun combo at that point
I am not sure if you know this but the rings, and the metagalio appear in all maps, not just the bone zone :).
I hope Tyler gets mad groove(if he doesn't have it already) because it makes getting the rings and the metaglios easier.(please note that i am extremely ignorant so I have no idea what arcanas Tyler has)
I am mortified to say that i have only just now at the time of writing this realized that the clock lancet attacks in the directions of hour placements on a clock face.
The rainbow aura effect is the half health is the area that takes effect not the clock lancet item

@@jacob-2271 Well yeah, but this is just another evolution like almost every other weapon in the game has. These were specifically added with the purpose of killing the reaper-before you had to do a really weird, cheesy method using Runetracer on the Library where you sit around for like half an hour just doing chip damage to the reaper in a near-pixel-perfect spot where it can't touch you
im pretty sure the original reaper kill was patched out, and this is the only way to get the red death if you haven't before the patch. either that, or i am misinformed

Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

Also I wanted to ask if you have heard of or played: The Binding of Isaac? Its a top-down-ish rpg (so its already in the 3rd-person), dungeon crawler-type game. It *might* be a little bit of a rage inducer, but given how you act in any situation. I feel like its a perfect match!
Tyler i don't know how much you know, but the way Pentagram works, is its base is a 10% chance not to destroy gems/items/chests. then you multiply it by luck as a %, with base luck being 100% so in theory at 900% luck, at base level it wont destroy anything(its achievable with a certain Arcana(btw this arcana also gives Curse, Greed and growth at 1% per 2 levels, which can make a character level 700 before end of level easily) or enough eggs), but as it levels up it gains more of a chance not to destroy anything(25%(aka 300% luck) 65%(aka 70% luck needed), but its evolution gives it a 100% chance not to destroy anything, and draw in all the exp.
Instakills can kill the green reaper (it's actually called the Stalker). It's not unkillable, but its HP is equal to the regular Reaper.
Maybe the real vampires were the friends we made along the way.
I once out-DPS'd the Infinite Corridor with Sarabande of Healing of all things... It felt cursed.
Specifically, Cosmo + Disco of Gold = Constant healing with a heavy multiplier from Recovery.
why not just cash in the revives? You were not even doing it damage, if anything you healed it....reviving just to die is pointless, specially if you can't do anything....sorry, I think I seen you play enough of this game for me to never play it again. Its the same game, you say the same stuff, its been a year and its the SAME...sorry but this is boring, I would have more fun if I played, I wouldn't need to talk to keep people listening and I wouldn't say the same thing for over a year straight....isn't that boring, saying literally the same thing over and over again?

Having 100%ed the game myself, I feel like he's highly over valuing the duplicator. It isn't bad but I don't think it's the huge power spike he says it is. I usually went for 6 evolved weapons since imo that's where the real power spikes are and lightning ring is one of the weaker weapons. I'd trade a few extra projectiles for an overall much stronger weapon.
Spoilers:
The thing at the end is known as the White Hand. It's sole purpose is to end otherwise infinite runs when certain conditions are met. It has no HP to damange, and sets your max HP to 0. It moves based on the screen, not the background, so there is no escaping it. There are 2 ways of summoning it. kill Death after damaging it with Infinite Corridor or Crimson Shroud, or kill the secret boss of the 5th map Capella Magna.
Gold ring and Silver ring? Is this Castlevania SOTN? Aliensrock and Dr4gonBlitz collab CONFIRMED!?

He can't be killed or damaged.
Every time you kill something powerful like a reaper or other bosses he appears as if to say "You got too powerful, f off into oblivion".
Bruh just played the missingNo special character for the first time and got a god mode roll on his stats yeah I was walking backwards and had literally no health but that doesn't matter when you are filling the entire screen with extremely quick attacks also only had -%10 might so yeah not exactly weak attacks there

I am the same as you, I really dislike looking up game information before discovering stuff naturally myself first.
I would have tried to get garlic. It buffs the clock Lancets freezing ability. I don't know how that would work with super giga buff lancer, but it wouldn't have hurt.
My base build is Magic Wand, King Bible, Santa Water, Lightning Ring, and either evolving Peachone and Black Wings or Eight the Sparrow and Phierra Der Tuphello before one previous weapon. Then grabbing Empty Tome, Spellbinder, Tiaragisu, Attractorb, Duplicator and usually Torrona's Box with a banish at level 9 sometimes. Of course if one or more items is available on the map I would wait to grab it and would add Bracer, Candelabrador or Spinach on top of the items. I.e. Empty Tome available in the Library etc. Arcanas would usually start with the triple fire for Magic Wand as a starting weapon, then throw on either the Gold Fever Arcana and the Extra Revives for evolved Phieraggi. Although on Boss Rash map the one that pulls every item to you every 2 minutes is VERY useful. Or the Counterpart Arcana for Peachone and Phieraggi.

I always pick up Garlic, as it is a shield vs projectiles and it's good early game.

I'm glad the devs added a clear intended way to kill and unlock the reaper. The previous defacto method being tweaking hp and damage with the game files seemed beyond silly.
not saying which arcana, but one of them will bring all exp, items, and pickups to you every 2 minutes so it can be very helpful when going for clock lancet/laurel evolution
hey, here's a tip
sarabande of healing synergizes with disco of gold, as every kill pretty much just does a short little attack around you so if you just run into enemy hordes you can semi-consistently dispatch groups of enemies during gold fever
