Part 3 of the Trout Series is outtttt! Hope you folks enjoy it. In this episode, we talk about *how to find stocked Trout out there.* If you haven't watched part 2 and 1 yet, I highly encourage it! Oh...and sorry for the lack of updates. Heh. It has been...errr....busy. ;)
Extreme Philly Fishing , thats 1. So only 19 more videos to go and I'll be happy. So, ..... If you could have them out by Monday that would be great. 😉 lol
Your videos have been very educational and entertaining. I manage a credit union but went to college for wildlife and fisheries biology. The multi species videos are awesome! I love how you name the genius and species of every fish you land. The other day, I recommended your videos to my fisheries professor from back in the day. Keep up the good work!!
These videos were a life saver for my trout outings, I learned the basics from trial and error but this filled in most of my knowledge gaps, excellent content EPF :)
Thanks for continuing to educate and share your expertise leo - it is greatly appreciated, especially for us that are local - hope to see out there again soon.
I used to do my trout fishing about a month after the season opened. Way less fisherman and finding and catching the ones that survived that initial wave of fishermen always seemed more rewarding.
I was fishing for trout today, I was litterly rite under them and no bites. Bouncing the bate, lures everything and no bites. Love watching the vids keep up the good work bro
U were climbing down rip rap filled with limestone. It's there for erosion control and the limestone helps with p.h which trout like on the higher side. Great video 👍
Hey Leo, Yesterday was stocking day and we slayed em! We caught six of them and put them in a cooler and took em home. This was between three of us. We used Bubblegum Berkley Power Bait Trout Worms. Thomas Fishing Lures E.P. Series 1/8 oz, nickel/gold. Acme phoebe 1/8 oz, silver/blue.
Hey EPF, do you have any plans to go fishing in Colorado?? Asking here as you didn’t reply in the Q and A, but all is good and after all you are still hands down my favorite youtuber, keep it up and have a good day.👍
I caught my very first few trout last Saturday April 7th & my very first time eating trout my self!! The girl friend & I caught 6 trout in less then 1& a half hours & no one else was catching any! The hole time we was there we only seen two other people catch one each!! I did try the power bait first & got a couple bites right away but never hooked up! I changed up to a tiny tiny jig & did a cast & retrieve method & started catching them one after another!! & of course everyone had to start coming closer & closer invading us so we just left! Had a blast & the results were awesome!! Thanks for all your info even though the power bait didn't work for me!! Good luck buddy! May be some day I will get luck with one of your nice give aways but have yet to win anything of you tub! Wondering if people really do win stuff??
I guess it's different here in Indiana. The times and locations of release here are largely kept secret, but a high percentage of releases are in very small streams, ones that often average less than eighteen inches of water, and that can be hopped across in many spots. This is done for several reasons. One is that it stops too many anglers from congregating one a few spots and wiping out the releases in a few days. Two is that it gives a lot more anglers the opportunity to catch trout when they don't have to travel far, and when any small creek near them may have trout. A third reason is proving highly interesting. Trout, particularly rainbow trout, are not supposed to be able to survive long in Indiana. This is considered a given, which is why we have to have stock releases every year. Surprisingly, second generation rainbows are now turning up in several of these small streams. This shows that a fair number of trout are not only surviving, they're also reproducing. To say this was not expected would be an understatement. It's too soon to say how this is happening, or what the long-term results will be, but many are hopeful. A leading theory of why this is happening makes a lot of sense to me. Many believe that a tiny few rainbows, maybe one in four or five hundred, are less temperature sensitive than average. Enough so that our summers don't kill many of them. But keeping time and release and location dates secret in many places, these tiny few fish live long enough to find an equally temperature insensitive mate to reproduce with. Some of these offspring may be building up a still small, but widespread population all their own. Anyway, most of the small creeks where these second generation rainbows are showing up have little to no fishing pressure over most of their length, though this will change if the population of such rainbows grows, and when words gets out, but by then I hope the population will be sustainable. Regulations are already in place to protect rainbows under a certain size, and this should help, but who knows? Anyway, here, at least, there's a chance of finding released trout almost anywhere, in any size creek.
Come up here and fish in Wyoming. Wild browns in the rivers, natural rainbows in the lakes. Only thing is that it's windy and the ice fishing season is around 7 months long
Leo next time you go to North Carolina and fish, go to a small town called Hampstead you have to do it in the week I have a few fishing holes and I want to meet you.
Hi, so at the lake I'm thinking of fishing at the day after tmr, there is only one access road which leads to a boat ramp. Can I assume that there is where they are gonna throw in the trouts?
At first the trout will be in the area where they are stocked but they will disperse eventually. Rainbows have been known to travel good distances. Water temperature will also dictate where they will go.
I can attest to stocked Trout even in Texas, however there is't necessarily a threat f them becoming invasive. Even in the Farthest Northern parts of Texas it can get too hot during the summer for them to live long term. unless it's in deeper water lakes.( I live near Amarillo, TX and the closest example I can think of is Lake Meredith National Recreational area.) Another example for farther South would be Tilapia in warmer water lakes. However if not kept in check they will out compete the local wildlife and even other introduced fish like common carp and Grass Carp, Bigmouth and Smallmouth Buffalo and sunfish.
I know from experience looking at steep cliffs to walk down, and taking a pic going "What the hell! This picture doesn't do justice it looks way worse in person"
Leo, I challenge you to try this and it shouldn’t be much of a challenge. Use a small hook and put three kernels of canned corn or so on the hook. The hook should be only big enough so that the corn covers the hook. Use a small split shot and bottom fish the corn in deeper holes in the creek. I’ve used this In stocked ponds but not in creeks for trout. Try it out maybe?
I went trout fishing for the first time and my first trout I ever caught was on someone stringer that they lost so I ended up snagging a stringer with a live trout on it !! So does that count as a catch??
WHATS UP WHATS UP WHATS UP TH-camEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NICE VIDEO LEO =) I am from germany and we catch many trouts with spoons can und try to catch a trout with a spoon?
Been watching you forever Leo. LOVE your videos Your English is perfect but I feel like I need to say that you’re pronounced precious wrong. You probably already know, but it’s pronounced PREE - VEE - US. But say it however you want! Just saying. Tight lines my man

Awesome video, you should do a catch and cook.
Good stuff Leo
Hi, so at the lake I'm thinking of fishing at the day after tmr, there is only one access road which leads to a boat ramp. Can I assume that there is where they are gonna throw in the trouts?
The Bass Tournament videos I've seen lately utilize catch, weigh release with an official on each boat. Hopefully, more are changing to that method.
We got multiple whats ups!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats up, whats up, whats up Leo!!!!!!!!
I'd like to see you fish more stocked lakes.
I'm waiting for the trout magnet
I will try this out tomorrow
At first the trout will be in the area where they are stocked but they will disperse eventually. Rainbows have been known to travel good distances. Water temperature will also dictate where they will go.

Usually i tend to go to bait if the spinners arent working or go to spinners when the bait isnt working. Trout are finicky and very picky at times.
They still haven't stocked the where I live in the Adirondacks. Still 2 inches of snow/ice.
Fast question. Whats your opinion about the whole "fish can hear you". Do you think fish can hear you when you talk?
nice Trouts, well done
Whaaaaattttt I used to live walking distance from there I had no idea there were trout in there!
If you ever want to fish some really sketchy spots come up to Rochester, NY.
How do you transport fish that you keep? Do you have a bag of ice inside your backpack or something?
What a hot spot 👍
Hey EPF I live in PA do you know when the carp will start spawning or they will make their way back to the shallows
beautiful water leo nice vid
Leo how do you keep the fish once you caught them, and bring them home? Do you ice them?
Great vid keep it up
Great vid
I know from experience looking at steep cliffs to walk down, and taking a pic going "What the hell! This picture doesn't do justice it looks way worse in person"
Thomas 1/4 ounce copper Colorado spoon. Best trout bait period

BayArea.Asian 30 i love the tiny daredevle spoons for panfish and small stocker trout, and the minnie size 1/6 oz.

Now that is a intro😂

Tommy Podzielinski it works extremely well in running water streams as well, it is generally best to have the bait floating a bit when stream fishing
good stuff
Love me some troutttt
I went trout fishing for the first time and my first trout I ever caught was on someone stringer that they lost so I ended up snagging a stringer with a live trout on it !! So does that count as a catch??
islipin to me a catch is a catch but if I actually snag it then I quickly realease it, but if it's on a stringer i think it counts lmao.
islipin hahaha nice, did you eat him?
