Hi Parker! I really appreciate the work that you put in your show. As a kid in 2020, I really enjoyed your show, and it resonated with me a lot back then. I really love the show's characters, it's narrative, and the actions scenes were very cool to me, and I still hold that feeling today about the show after almsot 5 years of me first seeing the show. I feel sorry for you that CN cancelled your show. It was such an underrated gem that we deserved to see more seasons of but the network just refused to make another season for the sake of corporate greed.
Wow didn't see this one coming, super cool to see you here! The show was sick, I really hope covid and CN didn't take away all of your chances to get the next season (or anything else you wanted to work on) off the ground :(
I genuinely will never forgive cartoon network for fucking this show over. Not only was it cancelled when it was clear it had potential and was loved, it was cancelled randomly and no word was said. Even the creator can't speak on it. That's horrible.
the worst part is CN owns the ip for the characters. Meaning the creators of the show can't try to experiment to try to do it on youtube as an independed animation /; , If only they could get the rights to the ip back somehow that could happen
Don’t worry guys. I have a plan for a satisfying finale. Just watch the episodes with Mao Mao’s father and Orangusnake’s origin last. Doesn’t matter which you pick first.

@AleTitan What's the point of dreaming if you always wake up? You never know how your next dream will go. He got to live his dream and maybe at some point he could get the franchise back. They don't want to monetize it or do anything with it so they might be willing to sell the IP rights to him. Only problem is, as with many things, it requires enough money to do that.
Hearing his origin story is so inspiring because I’m currently in college and hope to learn everything I can about animation and create my own tv show one day
I was LITERALLY just talking about how I used to watch this show with my friend. I forgot this show existed for a long time and finding out it got cancelled is pretty upsetting, actually.
I’ve watched Mao Mao AND Infinity Train because there was popular among cartoon critics. For Mao Mao specifically, there were a surprisingly lot of positive reviews even comparing the show to Darkwing Duck. The only modern CN show I cared about was Craig of the Creek because for the shallow reason of being black. But I decided to give both shows a shot. Unfortunately, the cancellation of countless short lived shows from either of the big three kids networks would be the beginning of the end of kids media getting any sort of respect.
And now most of it has been removed from Max, so regardless of whether you're a fan of TTG or not, the entire CN lineup is at risk. Even its equivalent of SpongeBob isn't safe.
Ngl, When I realized that Mao Mao was put down, I was initially upset that Parker never once gave his response, let alone try to stand and save his own show. But after some "brief exchanges" with Parker some time ago, I now understand that's it's not his fault. Great video man, I was geniunely tearing up a bit a couple times, I love this show, I remember trying to find official merch of this show with no luck, this show seriously deserves a ton of love and attention and I'm glad you made a video about this show like this, it hurts so much how it just ended abruptly, and it took me awhile to accept it's not coming back, at least not any time soon, part of me hopes it could come back somehow maybe as a more indie show instead, especially because indie shows finally seem to be doing good, Mao Mao is seriously a one of a kind show, and it came out when I honestly kinda gave up on Cartoon Network but this show amazed me and made me realize that Cartoon Network has still got it, I could honestly probably write a whole essay of how great this show is, but I think you get the point, thank you for giving this show the respect, love and attention it deserves, I love this show and I know other people do as well
I had such an obsession with this show for over a year. I was constantly checking every day for news of the episodes coming in 2020. I loved it so much. Sad it’s been canceled cause it’s become my favorite CN show and had me come back to CN despite being a teenager. I have a version of the intro music in my channel intro to this day
I am so grateful that this video exists. As much as i thought that I’ve moved on from this show onto better things, this video reminded me why i fell in love with the show in the first place. Thank you, funny panda man.
I really miss this masterpiece of a TV series, I loved how funny and charming it is from the animation, to the writing, the characters it is and will always be great and have a special place in my heart along with all the other great cartoons from early and late 2000s to 2010s from Cartoon Network Studios. It makes me so sad that this show was cancelled before it could finish telling the whole story, it feels like Spectacular Spider-Man all over again.
I still can't believe CN treated this show the way they did. Early morning time slot for new episodes, it wasn't streaming for months after the season ended, the only other way to watch was on the CN site which wouldn't let you in if you didn't have the right cable provider, and I don't recall ever seeing merch let alone physical media. We as creators really should band together to try to get copyright law changed to benefit creators over studios. It should not be that if a project is cancelled or an IP is just in limbo that the creator can't do anything about it. Especially if it's a WB situation where it's written off for taxes and erased from existence. Olan Rogers couldn't legally find any copies of Final Space to watch anywhere because it wasn't released on streaming and/or removed any place it was. He lucked out and got the rights to at least make a graphic novel of the finale. Mao Mao at least deserves that, or for Simmons to be able to bring it to another network/indie project. Edit: Isn't Mao Mao's sword actually magic in some way? The Lunar Slash is a real thing, it's just not clear what it's effects are.
The Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Discovery Kids/Family/Hub that we knew as kids are dead now. And the streaming services replacing them aren’t any better. No amount of reboots, revivals, sequels, spinoffs, regardless of quality, is gonna change that. 11:47 Holy crap i didnt expect Jay to dicuss about Motorcity in this video that show deserves a lot of attention so I'm glad he is giving the attention it needs. Also I didn't know that the creator of Mao Mao worked on the animation of the show. It just shows how much of a legend he is, because the animation of Motorcity is probably the best animation for a Disney show. [Yes I even think the animation and art style for Motrocity is better than the one from by favourite show, Gravity Falls, as it looks less generic] The show's art style is just perfect for the show's badass theme. It sucks that Disney cancelled it, they even had no justified reason for why they cancelled it, and it sucks because the show had a lot of potential. Just like Wander Over Yonder, the show was planned to get another season, even its respective crestors were writing its next season before Disney patted them in the back to announce it is cancelled with no word. It's just backstabbing, which shows that they are disrespecting the creators of their shows, that they put a lot of hard work into. This also applies to CN and how they cancelled OK K.O, Mao Mao, and Infinity Train, so I would say without a doubt that CN is becoming the new Disney Channel/XD in terms of how they cancel shows left and right for no reason. Not to mention that even as a kid, I never got to watch Motorcity, since Disney XD barely even advertised it. It's not that I was too young, I was literally watching the channel sometimes in 2012 and 2013, it's that the channel forgets to advertise it, and I don't even know if they were airing new episodes in my country, I don't even know if they aired the whole season in my country. It sucks now because I wasn't aware about the show's existence until 2023. How sad is that? I haven't even got the time to watch it ever since then, in which I am planning to watch it around next year or the year after, since I am binging over shows. It's still a cool show.
We love you Mao Mao, and hopefully one day our dreams can finally come true, so we can see you, see your heroic heart shine through! (ye its the mao mao theme ref)
they really messed up with this show, im still laughing at what adorabat said that one episode "do you love your mommy!? DO YOU LOVE YOUR MOMMY!?" The voice acting down to some of the anime style of the show was to die for. i think everyone should make a petition. it was annoying as heck what max did to cartoon network. it like max is deleting animated shows besides teen titans on purpose. somehow we all got Velma though right.
i am (suspected to be) neurodivergent. when this first came out, mao mao was my entire world. i watched the episodes over and over, i tried finding every last piece of fan content, it was my favorite thing. when this show got cancelled, my heart sank. thank you for making this. what this show got was undeserved. it could’ve been something so much bigger if cartoon network gave it a chance.
I loved it. I'm so sad it was suddenly cancelled. I don't even think the last few episodes aired, I only ever saw clips of them online. The creator and voice of Mao Mao still posts drawings of the show. I love the artstyle so much and the characters and stories were pretty entertaining and knew what it wanted to be.
Correction: it did almost every show post-2015 dirty, regardless of quality. I guarantee you there are some CN shows that came out you've never heard of, like Tig 'n Seek, Long Live the Royals, Victor and Valentino, Villainous, etc.
I love how even this comprehensive videos missed the massive "TM-Anon" leaks that occurred on 4chan just days after the more famous Season 2 leaks, correctly predicting the cancellation and CN's recent plans and causing a twitter fiasco when an employee accidentally confirmed the leaks.
I really liked this show. First show in a long time from CN to really entertain me since the end of Regular show and adventure time. I thought the future of CN would be alright, but i guess it's all burning down now. Such a shame
I remember waiting every weekend to come home after school and I’d run home, throw my backpack on the floor, then get so excited to turn on the tv and watch the newest episodes of mao mao, it made every week something to look forward too. I’m deviated it’s gone but it makes me very happy to see a video on just how great of a show not only mao mao was but all the people behind it ❤
This was actually one of the few present CN show that i actually enjoyed and thought it was underrated and deserved much more. Amazing animation, story telling, amazing backgrounds, enjoyable and solid characters with good desings. CN is killing actually good shows! I really wanted to see how the series would have continued..
oh hour long video essays about cartoons how i love you mao mao was such a good show and i was so sad when i realized it wasn't gonna get an ending of any kind. (probably. i think its been too long now i doubt itll happen) the backstory behind mao mao is so great, thanks for making this video^^
Mao Mao, Infinity Train, Sym Bionic Titan, Beware The Batman, Megas XLR and others deserve better than how they've been treated. It feels like everytime we get a good show, Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Discovery quickly abandon and discard it.
I won't lie I don't love the clickbait-y title and thumbnail but at this point it's nice to see a youtuber make a video about Mao Mao at all - and a pretty good one at that.
The first thing said in this video you were robbed and I was like I know I know I was there I watched them take it from me. Nice video it's nice to see videos from fellow fans of the show
Dude, This show has inspired me in more way in one in terms of story telling. I hate how it ended, so I am Making a comic that takes place a few months after the end of season 1. This show deserves to have it's story continue in a new light.
I don't think I'll ever get over what happened to Mao Mao, it's such a great show that got cancelled before it could reach it's true potential, also deep down I feel like the show is about a kinda tough guy hero who wants to be a good hero but struggles because he deals with the trauma of how he was raised, and with his friends he learns how to get through it, I love it
I remember watching Mao Mao as a younger kid, and GOD just seeing a few clips from the show gave me so much nostalgia. I wish that it got to live longer, but it is what it is.
I didnt even know this show got cancelled I remember watching it and loving it so much I did so many little doodles about these characters I remember being so exciting and constantly waiting when is the next episode going to come out and before this video I kept thinking in the back of mind I wonder if the series ever updated (I dont have cable anymore) This honestly made me very sad especially knowing its depths and what it could have been able to expand on but we will never get that
I love Mao Mao, especially with taking a different spin on what it means to be a hero. Still a huge shame that this show got axed, and I worry about the future of animation. Hopefully things will turn around somehow
Personally I don’t really watch these kinda cartoons anymore but Mao Mao was so fun to watch, I loved the characters and never got to finish the season. I hope one day it gets what it deserves
One thing I don’t understand is the fact that the show was renewed for a second season and then they kept being silent about the show with still no announcement of the show. That’s the thing I don’t get, no one at all has actually confirmed that Mao Mao is canceled and never mentions it again afterwards.
Honestly my first thought was that because of the shows quality they were taking a few years to work on the new season at their own pace. But then when I saw CN setting the preview to private, that’s when I started questioning the situation. Especially after it got removed from HBO Max worldwide
Something I think it's interesting about the Sky Pirates is is how they frequently said the same thing "We're okay!" after blasting off, which sounds like an ironic reference to Team Rocket's catchphrase in Japanese "やなかんじ!", which means something like "That's horrible!"/"This is a bad feeling!"/"That's no good". Plus the fact that they're goofball villains trying to get an energy source from the protagonist trio, with a black-haired hero-wannabe as the lead, a tomboyish girl and a tall male character who have wore a green vest over an orange t-shirt. I love everything that reminds me of Team Rocket.
I remember the day when this was aired. I was thrilled while watching this, younger me was very into action and fantasy shows. Which really explains my interest now, though I used to watch thriller or mystery shows, and I still love watching those types up until now.
I will never EVER forgive them for this. This was the funniest best show ever made and they treated it like garbage. Please let this show become an indie youtube show like the amazing digital circus and helluva boss. I wish mighty magiswords gets that treatment too but there's no way considering the creator of that show is a straight up a psychopath.
I remember an ad of the show keep on showing like years ago and the sudden point it just stopped showing. I didn’t think anything about it because since Phantom TH-cam recommended the target more of me and generally the ad and also then and my account got TH-cam premium which prevents ads so I didn’t think that much about it until years later literally when I discovered this video

I'm happy that you’ve returned your Rise and Fall.
Mao Mao genuinely did not deserve to be canceled. CN really did the show dirty, and that's unforgivable
they really messed up with this show, im still laughing at what adorabat said that one episode "do you love your mommy!? DO YOU LOVE YOUR MOMMY!?" The voice acting down to some of the anime style of the show was to die for. i think everyone should make a petition. it was annoying as heck what max did to cartoon network. it like max is deleting animated shows besides teen titans on purpose. somehow we all got Velma though right.
Yet another victim of the cancellation curse😞
i am (suspected to be) neurodivergent. when this first came out, mao mao was my entire world. i watched the episodes over and over, i tried finding every last piece of fan content, it was my favorite thing.
when this show got cancelled, my heart sank.
thank you for making this. what this show got was undeserved. it could’ve been something so much bigger if cartoon network gave it a chance.
CN did this show, OK KO and Infinity Train dirty 💀
Correction: it did almost every show post-2015 dirty, regardless of quality. I guarantee you there are some CN shows that came out you've never heard of, like Tig 'n Seek, Long Live the Royals, Victor and Valentino, Villainous, etc.
@SecretMagician I have heard of some these but I forgot they existed
@BluePyramidCipher exactly.
This is as early as I’ve ever been! Hyped to see what you have to say.
Props to the show taking a dig at CN airing Teen Titans Go one too many times
I love how even this comprehensive videos missed the massive "TM-Anon" leaks that occurred on 4chan just days after the more famous Season 2 leaks, correctly predicting the cancellation and CN's recent plans and causing a twitter fiasco when an employee accidentally confirmed the leaks.
One of my, if not the favorite video of yours. Nicely done. 👍
You should do an ep on Glitch Techs’ cancellation and fade to obscurity
if you do a short with better pacing of badgerclops eating food i will rewatch it forever
I really liked this show. First show in a long time from CN to really entertain me since the end of Regular show and adventure time. I thought the future of CN would be alright, but i guess it's all burning down now. Such a shame
I miss this show so much ❤
"Lost my license cause of all the crimes I committed" 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥
46:02 this kinda references what Parker said about the teachers not wanting him to draw on the back of the worksheet
I enjoyed Mao Mao, the show had potential, I was confused when it was coming on anymore
I weep for this show. It was my favorite thing Cartoon Network had put out since Regular Show
THIS IS SO REAL AND I'VE BEEN STUCK IN THIS THOUGHT PROCESS FOR NEARLY THE PAST FOUR YEARS. THANK YOU FOR PUTTING IT TO WORDS
In retrospect, it was unfair for CN to give Mao Mao only 2 episodes to be aired on the Network and let others get more than 2 episodes to be aired
Man I loved this show when it used on show on Cartoon Network it was my favorite show
Has anyone noticed all the good shit gets canceled?
@scifriskyxy Yeah I been noticing all the good shows keep getting canceled
I watched it when my kids were too little to enjoy it.
Now they are old enough and it's gone. I know they would love it now. Such a great show...
SOMEONE FINALLY TALKED ABOUT THIS SHOW.
Stuff like this is why I hope Indie animation becomes far bigger than it is now.
R.I.P Mao Mao
Salute to the fallen soldier! 🫡
He also made that Dr Mario animation we all know and love. The Dr Mario song.
Ya mean the one where he says that he is saving lives???
@ yep!
@@IceClimbersiX The guy that made Mao Mao. Made this song? Ain’t no way dudes.
@ yes
Justice for:
Mao Mao
OK KO
Infinity Train
Batgirl
Every show and movie cancelled and removed by Warner Bros Discovery
I loved this show. I didn’t know it got cancelled
oh hour long video essays about cartoons how i love you
mao mao was such a good show and i was so sad when i realized it wasn't gonna get an ending of any kind. (probably. i think its been too long now i doubt itll happen)
the backstory behind mao mao is so great, thanks for making this video^^
This show makes me cry every time 😢
i had such a crush on mao mao…
No way! 😮
I did too! ❤😊
OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE IS TAKING ABOUT THIS SHOW !! I LITERALLY SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THIS VIDEO
Many shows that get forgotten need more attention!
I remember watching this when I was younger
It’s basically an inside job situation
They took a series with potential and killed it just as it was picking up steam
I will NEVER forgive cartoon network for putting this show down
I didnt even know this show got cancelled I remember watching it and loving it so much I did so many little doodles about these characters I remember being so exciting and constantly waiting when is the next episode going to come out and before this video I kept thinking in the back of mind I wonder if the series ever updated (I dont have cable anymore) This honestly made me very sad especially knowing its depths and what it could have been able to expand on but we will never get that
I love Mao Mao, especially with taking a different spin on what it means to be a hero.
Lol I love that the title suggest it never falled
I remember the day when this was aired. I was thrilled while watching this, younger me was very into action and fantasy shows. Which really explains my interest now, though I used to watch thriller or mystery shows, and I still love watching those types up until now.
I will never EVER forgive them for this.
This was the funniest best show ever made and they treated it like garbage. Please let this show become an indie youtube show like the amazing digital circus and helluva boss.
I wish mighty magiswords gets that treatment too but there's no way considering the creator of that show is a straight up a psychopath.
Bring back show and you could started a petition to back unwanted shows back
It ended just like Close Enough
I remember an ad of the show keep on showing like years ago and the sudden point it just stopped showing. I didn’t think anything about it because since Phantom TH-cam recommended the target more of me and generally the ad and also then and my account got TH-cam premium which prevents ads so I didn’t think that much about it until years later literally when I discovered this video
No way they did this i had rewatched it multiple times. they did this show like one of my favorite summer camp island
I remember watching some of these episodes on CN. I loved that cartoon!
