@@tremedar Only few of the bad anime and mainstream anime have bad Japanese voice actors. A well known studio with good reputation will never use bad voice actors even if the anime is bad. And the studio that actually dubs anime doesn't care that much about quality because they know there product will sell even though they use a chain smocker for a kid charecter. There are always so many people who loves to watch anime despite being unable to read. So i think it's Okey if you enjoy dubs more.
Not sure if that’s true.. Illustrious is VA’d by Sora Amamiya as far as I know and aqua voices by Megumi Toyoguchi. If you’re talking English VA’s I have no clue.
Eh, I gotta disagree since most of the “British” VA’s are giving deadpan delivery as if they’re reading the script the way they would read a book to themselves. They’re Really only a hand full of decent Voice Actors for the Dub which is understandable since there’s a very large amount of characters, most of which aren’t plot relevant. Also the Japanese dub has the added benefit of already having the voice actors from the mobile and PS4 games. All of which are very good talent. I’ll admit they’re having fun with it like with the Hornet. But the Hornet makes me cringe so hard I have to pound my desk. Let’s not forget about Prinz Eugen being made to sound like an overweight German immigrant named Helga in her 90s who help clean up the bodies in concentration camps during Germany’s occupation. If I’d wanted an ironic dub where the VA’s have fun I’d wish they’d done it like “Ghost Stories”. But a general lack of effort is the big theme of this anime’s dub for me. That’s really what it comes down too. Japanese voice acting casters are very good at they’re jobs and take it seriously, they choose very good talented voices actors, and in the end you get an enhanced story. That’s how it works. Dubs just fill in the roles with the same 100 people. If they wanted to really take the dub and enhance it with the language, they should have hired British, German, and Japanese voice actors along side American ones, the same way the dub for “A silent voice” casted a real deaf woman to do the role of Shouko. But a small studio like Funimation doesn’t have the money or logistics for that. Unlike the Japanese dub which is full of talented voice actors who are versatile and give it their all for a good and convincing performance. So the English dub is just a big waste of time and effort overall in my opinion. But I can’t stop people from liking it, which is what makes life great, you can enjoy what you want and not have to mind a single word from me. I apologize for any spelling errors that make this comment hard to read.
Personally I find the English dub rather charming. Kinda gives it a different feel when each faction has an accent as opposed to everyone sounding the same in japanese. Although I think its hilarious the Sakura Empire didn't have a Japanese accent. What, so we can have funny English and german accents but Asian accents are punching down or something?
Honestly, this is what I'm looking for. Nothing can be any more British than hearing British accent. I appreciate this for the effort of being authentic because I think have seen enough Japanese characters fake being Western ones
I just wish they got more actual British people to ply the role authentically. Similar to how “A silent voice” casted a real deaf women for the role of Shouko in the English dub. Also not reading their lines like a deadpan comedian at a funeral would be appreciated.
@@mk_gamíng0609 now I'm imagining CDawgVA playing one of the British shipgirls. That being said, the UK does have it's own voice actors.
