    I am looking forward to this ball as I am speed glitchy at times and I need to hook. I am throwing the Duo once the lanes transition, so this will be a nice 1-2 combo.
    Update. Got the Summit, love the tandem!! They have pushed from a solid 197 to a 210 or more when I don't brain fart makeable spares.

    Damn sounded like an indoor carnival ride 2 lanes over...haha, I think the Summit might just be one of the new releases that could stick around for a while. Lots of hook, but still control, nice combo.

    I've never thrown a face too but I love that ball reaction. However, the summit is probably one of the top five balls I've ever rolled. I've subbed in three leagues with the summit. All three games with the summit and all three times 700 +. Just ordered another one.

    How do you feel the ball is doing now after getting some lane shine? I just got a Summit to replace a Phaze II as my ball one and using Revenant when I need to play more angular. Seems like a solid 1-2 punch when the Summit gets a little weak and predictable.

    Do you drift left 5 boards? When you said you were standing on 10 and 15 it looked like you finished at the foul line on 15 and 20, respectively. Only noticed because you said you were standing on 10 and then hit 8 at the arrows - talk about keeping it in front of you!

      Just be wary of the difference between how you throw it and how he does, if any.
      I'm higher speed and less rev (and lefty), so the Summit would probably look great for me from there.

    • @nevinkinzel
      @nevinkinzel ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dylanjackson7102 It might be, but also depends what you bowl on. Older wood lanes, light volumes, and easy house shots, it might be too much or it might just allow you to start moving in more.
      Slick surfaces, higher volumes, more challenging patterns (where there's more oil to the edges of the lanes) and this ball would probably work well for you.
      What do you throw now? What kind of volume/pattern/lane surface? And what does it do that you want to change?

      I was told to get the P5 (and I'm a lefty). Some of the worst games I bowled in recent times has come from this P5. Refinished and got rid of some of the shine and it didn't help much either. IMO, that ball just isn't that great. Was debating this Storm Summit or Hammer Dark Web Hybrid as a replacement. Not a high rev bowler.

    • @TheHype-Bowling

      @@TheHype-Bowling A 3rd option which has come up is the Ebonite Fireball. Looks like that is more of a spare ball, though. Thoughts? *EDIT* I watched your other video and man, that thing hooks. My guess is that won't work for me and I'd be hitting Brooklyn..or worse.

  • @notonyourlife7939
    @notonyourlife7939 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm puzzled by the never ending parade of hook monster balls. Given that most of the centers in the country now have decades old synthetic surfaces with lots of friction, who's using these things successfully? Most of them burn up too early and end up flat-10 machines...

    • @grillmaster95
      @grillmaster95 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most people don't have a lot of hand and think that "stronger" equipment will get them more hook like the guys on TV or the high average bowler in their house. So they buy the newest, most hookingest ball that their favorite company releases. These are the ones that sell

    • @TheHype-Bowling

      Have to keep in mind the tour guys and gals need equipment and the companies have to keep the lineup full with options.

    • @TheHype-Bowling

    • @notonyourlife7939
      @notonyourlife7939 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheHype-Bowling Yeah... the pros need their equipment... but they're a tiny percentage of the bowling public. And the "faces of the sport" are either getting all their crap for free, if not actually getting paid to throw them... so it still doesn't explain why Joe Average keeps buying all this stuff just so they can burn up and 10-pin all day long. I don't get it...

    • @notonyourlife7939
      @notonyourlife7939 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grillmaster95 ok... but that should only be a mistake that you make once. You'd think that after buying a couple of these "hook in a box" balls, and then seeing them check up too early and roll out, that maybe, just maybe they'd consider buying something that might actually produce results, lol... for most people bowling on walled house shots, these epic strength balls are actually a hindrance... yet everybody continues to think that 2+2=22, and they run right out to buy the next hook monster. 🤣. It's baffling...

      @notonyourlife7939 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Samuel-xs2yv On a long enough timeline you'll be done with every bowling center in the country, then... the powers that be have had this in the works for quite some time now. The owners (read: Bowlero, since they basically control the industry at this point) have wanted this for years because it'll save them a fortune in operating costs. The last remaining hurdle was USBC certification of string pins for competition, which they've now done... if a bit reluctantly. It's just a matter of time before free- fall pinsetters are basically nonexistent. Won't be overnight, and there will be the occasional holdout, just as you can still find a few places with old wood lanes... but for 99% of bowlers, string pins will eventually be the only option. Welcome to "progre$$".

    • @masterp2269
      @masterp2269 ปีที่แล้ว

      What exactly are string pins? I heard JR discussing it but never really understood how they work.

    • @notonyourlife7939
      @notonyourlife7939 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@masterp2269 It's exactly what it sounds like... pins permanently tethered to long cables. The machines cost pennies on the dollar to own and operate compared to free-fall machines, so most proprietors (in other words Bowlero, which now basically controls the industry) are all-in. Now that the USBC has certified them for competition, they will be coming to a center near you... probably sooner than later. Pinfall is a joke... pins get clotheslined by cables attached to other pins. You can make impossible splits with this clothesline effect, and even on flush pocket hits, they produce 7% FEWER strikes, based on the USBC's "research". They are an abomination, and an insult to the sport... and they're also the "future" of bowling. Welcome to "progre$$". There's nothing that humans won't ruin in the name of the almighty dollar...
