really liked the format of this video. Made it easy to see what the balls doing and compared to other balls w the fairly quick back to back shots. Great stuff Stu!
@@BeefandBarnzyI second what James said. Even though I'm a low rev speed dominant bowler (approximately 300 rpm 18 mph), seeing the Summit and other balls in quick time really enhances the differences in motion on different patterns. I'm gonna have to give serious thought to the Summit. Excellent video, Stu!
Easily one of the best reviews I've ever watched!! Different patterns, ball comparisons with different lines Awsome work Stu 👍 Don't see any ways to improve on this..it's that good
Thanks for the ball review Stu. Nice to see it on different patterns and compared to other balls. I think you guys should get to at least 100 K subscribers. One of the most informative vlogs is the B & B show. On another topic, I heard a rumour that Highland Lanes may close. Sure hope not. I always like bowling there when visiting my daughter in Austin.
Thank you for doing the review. Great insight on where to best use it and where it fits in general. Being a low rev/high speed player the added information is appreciated.
This ball is a house shot cheat code. Haven’t shot under 700 yet with it in all my leagues, Bowl 3 a week. I bought it week it was released. It handles all 3 games with only 5 boards of me moving mid second game. 17 mph at 450rpm right handed. Would absolutely recommend it for house shot!
Stu man I love this video you did. It’s actually better than the others I watch of you. 3:33 really enjoy the name of oil pattern and showing ea one of the balls. Storm came close to the Pll with that summit ball being a hybrid. 6:20 37 mills 3-1 is no joke for the ppl who thinks of HSE, 6:54 oops that’s the first I’ve ever seen you in showing a ball get a bad break. 8:54 I love my Zen, but Stu is Storm going to do something stupid with the P2 because that ball is a fantastic ball. 10:48 wow I figured that it was better than the P2, 11:29 20k viewers Yeah Man.
Wow you went the extra mile on this one. 4 patterns, and multiple balls for comparison, static camera, nice clear overlays. You're spoiling us here. Seriously - you just raised the bar for everyone
My wife got me this for Father's Day. Of course I couldn't show it, but I was skeptical about this one just because it's a hybrid. Hybrids tend to leave me a lot of 10s and blower 7s. I hit it with a 2000 sanded and it was good as gold after that. I'm guessing, for me at least, that I can't let it get shiny. Much like the original Gem
@@BeefandBarnzy It also doesn't help that one part solid and one part pearl are literally splitting my PAP in half. Most would say that doesn't matter, but my ball reaction was not the same from one shot to the next before I changed the surface. Chris was correct on how quickly this one shines up after a few shots
Hey Stu. Great review & a lot of good information. Thoughts on this & the DNA? Good to have both or if mainly bowling house stuff, just have 1 in the bag?
Think the dna will actually be a little weaker than the summit. Depending on your style and the house shot you are bowling on, 2 balls that strong might be too much. Do you find your dna not being enough ball sometimes?
@@BeefandBarnzy little more speed dominant & was curious about the Summit. DNA is undrilled & can swap out for a Summit. 1 league is basic house shot & a few other places I bowl in for tourneys or sub, can start tight, then really open up. Currently have a Zen, Zen U, & a Duo. So would like to have a strong ball in the bag.
Just ordered my Summit. Thinking about a Duo or Gold Label Zen as my league 1-2 punch. I’m a pretty down and in high speed player. What do you think about those possible combinations?
I’ve heard a lot of people say (in regards to the Summit) “this ball motion is just really weird for me”. Do you think that’s a bi-product of this ball being designed more for sport shots than house shots, or am I overthinking it? 🤔
I don't think it is really made for sport, I think it is just really strong and a lot of house shots don't have enough oil for it to thrive. So if that is what you are testing it on, you will see it burn up a lot.
@@BeefandBarnzy Yeah, I think this ball has my name all over it. Lefty, speed dominant (typically in the mid-18s on the screen, 19 on the screen at the seemingly better-maintained house near me). I think it will be a good ball for me to start getting [back] into a sport shot league with, too. I have the C300 Savage (lane-shined) and Phaze4 (pin down) as my 1-2 punch for league, a Nova that I never throw because even with surface I have to slow down a ton- likely have it re-drilled with a stronger layout, and a completely lane-shined and oil soaked BW Assassin as my spare ball😂. Getting two balls soon in the ol' Bowlero "Get Your Gear" league. Hopefully there will be more available than the ones that are on the flyer.
As long as you have higher ball speed. Think most people will lean on Phaze 2 as the benchmark. Summit might be. A little too strong for true benchmark ball

Thanks for the positive feedback. I actually changed the plan a couple of times on how to make the video. So I’m glad you liked it
Love this format, great way to compare the balls. Plus the view was great

I looked to replace 3 of my bowling with the Phaze II, Phaze V and Summit.
Thz it's about time someone show a ball on something besides house. Luv view on long pattern high volume
Thanks for posting. Great info, especially since you can demonstrate in so many different ways and be compared with other favorite equipment.
Thanks for the kind words

Glad it was helpful!
FINALLY a ball review on a pattern that doesnt make every shot strike! Thank you!
Chris often doesn’t strike every shot on his reviews!
@@BeefandBarnzy i didnt mean on this channel but on TH-cam in general.
Love this review format. Probably the best ball review video I have seen. Thanks!
Thank you…. Spread the word!!! 😊
That Phaze II looked good for you on all the patterns.
your delivery is super smooth - getting some effortless revs there! The ball is nice too I guess, LOL
Thanks!

Yeh, I would think more surface will compliment its strengths

good comparison stu, thanks!!!! 😁
Love this review. Bought one already😂

Gold label is the better compliment to summit I think
I can’t wait for my summit to come in
Reaction looks great! One of my favorite SPI cores.. But the shelf appeal is low on this one.
You might be right, but hook is generally pretty popular! And balls that strike more are always prettier! 😂😂
no doubt, not sure what they were smoking when they chose those colors...lol, yuck
Good display.
How is the regular summit compare to the dna?
Hey Beef……Which cover stock do you think is stronger …..the one on the Summit or the one on the Gem
Gem
@@BeefandBarnzy thanks!
Is this ball a good step down from a big asym like a reality?
Think it is more of a step across. Similar overall strength, just a more controlled shape

Would you recommend this ball to a lefty with a straighter shot?
As long as you are speed dominate, I think this ball is going to be awesome

Could the summit be the first ball out of the bag on a fresh pattern??
As long as you have higher ball speed. Think most people will lean on Phaze 2 as the benchmark. Summit might be. A little too strong for true benchmark ball
Did the Zen strike every single shot? Im getting one! xD
Zen is special! ♥️
Stu, can you just cram it up the 5 board on every pattern so I can see what it looks like on the left? Lol
Lol. This was super strong when I moved too far right. Needed the oil!
what would you say your ball speed was here?
Around 17-18mph
Phaze 2 still the goat
I see no lies! 😂
what’s ur average ball speed?
In this video probably around 18 off the hand. But I change ball speeds more than most players
Summit or Duo?
Depends on what you are looking for. Summit stronger and smoother. Duo way more angular
Summit looks good performance wise but man those colors are barf!
It’s for sure beauty in the eye of the beholder! Looks pretty sweet when it’s striking though 😂😂
Looks like a mequiars ball.
Not sure what auto correct did there! 😂😂
@@BeefandBarnzy right- I'm thinking the meguiars ultimate compound. But autocorrect had a different idea 😂
summit vs nova
summit stronger cover. Think summit is earlier and smooth, but more overall hook
