Additionally, The Constitution does not specify qualifications for Justices such as age, education, profession, or native-born citizenship. A Justice does not have to be a lawyer or a law school graduate, but all Justices have been trained in the law. I guess that means, they can fail the Bar 🤷♀️

FYI: GW Bush withdrew Harriet Miers nomination for the Supreme Court. Her nomination was opposed by GOP conservatives because it wasn’t clear that she supported overturning Roe v Wade. Both Democrats and Republicans knew she was clearly unqualified.

She certainly was not the best qualified person for a SCOTUS position but neither was Alito who did get appointed. The real difference was that Alito was a Federalist Society pick and Harriet Miers was not.
