I have an old Australian army issue M65 made by Alpha industries. I wore one like it during the 1980's, the tag is identical to USA issue except it says C.O.A order # 550475 instead of the DLA 100 etc C.O.A. = Commonwealth of Australia Best jacket ever.
I remember these field jackets didn't launder or starch well due to the water repellant nature of the fabric. Some of the jackets were the olive drab color (brownish green), while others were OG (olive green). The olive drab colored M65 looked crappy. Many guys would swap their brownish issued M65 for the green one issued with your TA-50. Some fatigues also had this brownish green color.
I have a 1982 field jacket. Recently I bought it for 53$ and honestly it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It’s comfy it keeps you warm indefinitely. And it’s a good addition to any vintage collection. Although I would like to know more about the 0575-OG107. As mine doesn’t have the original U.S army insignia but in ink print.

This is a real gem, my friend, 1st Special Forces Brigade under ROK Special Warfare Command - if you have an original name tape this would be a masterpiece. I promised myself to not purchase any field jackets anymore - but when I see a great piece like this one ..... congrats! This one is way better than even NOS one.
Hello, as far as I see usually SF name patches are removed from field jackets, it is interesting how these ROK items are getting outside the Republic of South Korea as I know you have there quite strict regulations regarding who can obtain genuine ROK Army items. Have you got this from USA or Thailand? ALL the best my friend!
@@m-65fieldjacketsI noticed that these color differences are not on all jackets! I have an m65 from 1975 C-0511, alpha industries we can clearly see the color of the collar which is slightly lighter, it reassures me, Is it the only m65 that has a difference in color or on other jackets too? Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately not able to get a authentic one in Germany. What are my best alternatives? Tried a new Alpha Industries but don't like the quality. And somehow the color is much darker green. What about Cockpit USA? It seems like the new Jackets are all darker than the one ones in your videos. Aren't the new ones original color or do they get brighter with wear?
Keep in mind these M65 jackets had a 1985 wearout date for the US Army. That was almost 40 years ago. That's a whole lot of washing/starching in the life of a field jacket.

Unfortunately the surname was not preserved, but the trace of the patch remained.
