Super helpful video. Everything is visible and you took time showing each step. I just watched this as I changed the injectors on my old plow truck. Success!
If you are going through the trouble of replacing the injectors, you might as well remove the entire throttle body from the engine and do the entire rebuild. It isn’t that hard and the gaskets between the throttle body and the intake manifold are due to be replaced, especially if your injectors need to be replaced. You will see what I’m talking about when you take it apart. Another thing, the larger top injector orings are a bit smaller than original equipment. That’s why the gasket kit that comes with the injectors have that steel ring in there. It fits under that top oring BEFORE you put the upper oring in. And lastly, the fuel regulator diaphragm should be changed too. There are rebuild kits that come with all of the gaskets you will need to do the entire throttle body, including the diaphragm.
I'm not sure if i can trust someone who keeps their truck that clean and presentable... A clean truck is a sign of a sick mind! 😂. This was pretty helpful actually, thank you
@@glonky36excellent video on step by step on rebuilding a TBI and replacing the injectors. Wondering if you should have disconnected the fuel line from the TBI first before removing the filter allowing any gas to follow backwards from the carburetor towards the fuel filter.
nice vid dude i wish i had more than 2 thumbs but yea great vid im having trouble starting my truck chev silverado 90 change the dist cap & gas filter now it's cross my fingers 😄
What was ur truck doing before u decided to change the injectors?? I got a 89 Chevy that is misfiring when I’m driving, it sounds like is throwing explosions lol, unless I floor it, it goes away but it doesn’t do it all the time!!
Easy as pie. Lord bless the TBI. 'Unfortunately' I have the next gen Vortec engine and would love to forfeit the few (alleged) extra horses for ease of repair of the TBI engine. I keep telling myself I am still better off than with the LS, where I need to pull the cylinder heads to get to the lifters and accessing the oil pump isn't much easier either.
3 bolts is all it takes to take the throttle body off. Definitely way easier to do that than do this stuff bent over the truck. Also good to clean the throttle body real good on an old truck like that. Makes a noticeable difference
Yea I'm on the same journey on a 92 TBI 350. Had a little pinging going on in load at low rpm, like 45 mph. Fuel pump is 10k miles old, and I change the fuel filter regularly, yet it still pings and has began a flat spotting in medium to heavier throttle. Just replaced the injectors and the TBI was rebuilt about 15k miles ago. Seems like most of the accel issues are cleared up, throttle response is better for sure, spray is a almost perfectly even but if I let it heat soak and restart it, it will go into a surge idle but clears up once you start to drive.
It didn’t come with a new diaphragm for that metering spring? Underneath the brass dome looking thing. There’s a spring in there, and a diaphragm behind it that’s made of rubber. They stretch and degrade over time. Major problem in small engine carburetors. Walbro makes new metallic coil spring upgrade kits with a non gasoline degradable membrane material to replace the old style standard metering diaphragms. They are supposed to be lifetime upgrades. Someone should make a GM kit of this type. If anyone tries to open that metering housing too quickly, I hope you like Jack in the box surprises.
What symptoms was your truck having for you to do the injections? My truck stalls once I come to a stop sometimes, I got the parts to do my 1992 Chevy k1500 pickup and I believe it stalls because of the fuel injectors or the regulator? What do you think?
What was your Tahoe doing I have a 95 and mine idles good but after you get going down highway you gun it and it spits spatters backfires then takes off
Mine was stuttering on the freeway under steady throttle. It ended up being the spark wires one spot off on the distributor. I would check timing with a timing light but have not had that exact issue.
It’s possible but it’s more likely that it’s a leak in a fuel line or fitting. I would find the leak before replacing the injectors cause they’re expensive.
Nice video, but I have a problem w/ my truck. Fuel Injectors leaked but I fixed that. Now my truck wont start, the starter makes a rapid clicking sound but nothing happens. Do you have an answer for that?

Right!!
Where can I get a full rebuild set?

This video is wonderfully made. Giving straight to the point information and a clear view.
I just did one of these. So nice to work on! GM made these trucks simple and reliable.
I love my truck same truck
Super clean truck. Thanks for posting.
Thank you!

Great video! Clear images, step by step instructions…Saved me a bit of $$. Thank you 🙏 Definitely owe this man a beer!
This is an extremely helpful video. I would recommend this to anyone who need to know how to replace these 👍
Did you use the same fuel filter o ring?
Great video very clear and very well explained
I got a 95 gmc g2500 and this is exactly what needs to be done
Mine was nice and clean like that when I had 98 k miles on it. Now at 202k, she's a rusted beast. Michigan does great things to cars.
Good video, if you notice there is a small hole on the bottom of the injector that needs to be lined up, if not it'll smash the steel hollow pin.
Very clear video man . Good job . Nice truck .
اللهم صل وسلم وبارك على عبدك ورسولك محمدﷺ
Bro you saved me, very helpful!
Nice clean job....thanx for the tip...Now i can do my 88 Silverado TBI 5.7 with no worries.
Thank you for this video! Getting my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo “brodeo” up and running

Great video well shot
How the hell is your engine that clean!? I’m jealous 😩
ikr He needs to make a video on that for us.
@ I don’t think he will 😪
Where can I get a full set to rebuild it?
Just subbed from Michigan this was very helpful I got a 89 Chevy caprice I will most likely need to do how much does it cost for that set
Mr Glonky.. so in order to bleed the lines just unplug the fuse, let it run until it dies..and then I can start changing fuel pump, injectors, etc?

Just a suggestion!
You have to allow the gasket(s) soak, preferably overnight.
No
That kit come with both injectors or just one? I need this on my 89 k5
How many miles should a full tank give

My 94 s 10 has 171,000 miles and injectors are original. How do you know if they need replaced if the truck runs ok.
My timing ended up being slightly off. It was hesitating and bucking under load. Didn’t end up being my injectors

Awesome tutorial!
Excellent video
Does it matter which connector goes on which injector
That video was fucking MINT my guy. Thanks a million
Where you get that chrome filter pan?
What’s the upper price gasket called we’re the t20 screws on
What camera setup you are using. Cristal clear man. Great picture quality. Please share the setup.
Sony a6300. I think I was using a sigma 16mm 1.4 at the time.

Could be one or both of those. Fuel pump could be glong bad too.

When trucks were trucks easy and reliable
Hey bro will replacing these resolve the problem of a gas smell?
It’s possible but it’s more likely that it’s a leak in a fuel line or fitting. I would find the leak before replacing the injectors cause they’re expensive.
evap charcoal canister is your prob. had the same
Great video!!!
where did you purchase new gasket and o-ring kit
Pretty sure it was all from oreillys
Just replace my injectors and gaskets yesterday thats all o'Reilly i got like that to.
Would have liked to see that new spray pattern on the new injectors
It would’ve been the same before and after because the injector didn’t end up being the issue.
@@glonky36 what was the problem
Good video thank you
Man that obs is stupid clean 🧼
Thank you!!
Clean truck I got one exactly the same
Did this resolve your issue from rough stalling and idle?
Yes. It turned out the spark wires were all one one spot off so the timing was off. It ran perfect once the spark wires were hooked up right.
Thank you great video
Can faulty fuel injectors cause smoke on startup
Rarely. Likely valve seals.
Nice video, but I have a problem w/ my truck. Fuel Injectors leaked but I fixed that. Now my truck wont start, the starter makes a rapid clicking sound but nothing happens. Do you have an answer for that?
I would try charging/jumping the battery. That sound usually happens when it doesn’t have enough battery.
@@glonky36 Thanks man! Now it’s time to fix the rough idling
@@DahNomad I would check vacuum lines like the ones that go to the brake booster and tbi.
Good as fucking video bro....congrats kee it up
Good job
Good job on the video but don't cheat yourself by skipping places gaskets go
Yeah, pretty sure gasket kit comes with a couple smaller gaskets I didn't see being replaced that are for the 3 longer screws area.
Good shit
I think my 95 Silverado tbi needs new injectors. It has been stalling on me from time to time. 203k miles
20 INCH pounds
Nice
you must be in California as the I see the undercarriage is so clean.....
You meant 88 to 95
Will entire tank come out or just a little gas
A decent amount of gas but not the entire tank
20 ft lbs holy $4!+
AC/Delco is made in china, expensive and garbage. 😮
Gas flows from the tank to motor, arrow facing toward engine
