- 6:13 for actual flight (short)
Our Club had this little cosy event where 2 giant planes where build - This was the short flight of this giant paperplane.
DATA:
25 kg
32 sq. meter wing.
Polystyrene, tape and a bit of wood
Worth the wait. That was huge! Biggest paper aeroplane I have ever seen!
I thought I was going to be disappointed. I was not. TY!
6:43 The most embarrassing part is that it *TORE APART* just *BEFORE IT HIT THE GROUND* 🤣
It was a long boring video but the crash and the camera mans reaction reaction made it so worth it
It didn't seem to have enough thrust to climb, right ?
at the end,is that a full throttle hand launch?
Estoy esperando la versión mejorada y que realmente vuele. Felicitaciones y sigan trabajando en este proyecto. Me gustó mucho!
Such a sad end! I hope there will be a version 2.
brilliant!
POWER!
it needs a gearbox and bigger prop. good luck
Big hint sometimes size does matter...Early on did you not see the size of the prop.??..It was all a joke...
In the future, everything will be done one-handed while the other holds a phone aloft so as to capture poor footage, usually unusably out of frame. And people will consider it an advance, purely because everyone does it.
Bomba....
skip to 6:34
6 min if it is people walking around with the plane
Fuck yeah!!
sorry for that! 6:39
the reason it crashed at the end is because you flew it against wind, when you are suppose to fly a plane or glider with the direction of the wind in order to achieve higher speed.
Hvor gør
Too much heavy 25kg 😲
hätte ich mir auch sparen können
Worst edit in the history of this planet. The interesting part starts at 6:27.
Skip to 6:30 for the actual 30 seconds of flight footage.
(And by the way it flew, it needed at least 3 more of those motors.)
*****
you trolling?? or you dumb?? A real Cessna C150J costs at least 15000... used...
fly it for transportation..
you wont risk your life for a meneuver just for fun..
this foam plane was about 100$ everything... that it crashed didn't even hurt their wallet at all..
Why should it have three engines when it flew too fast with just one?
(with a deep Scottish accent)Captain, I'm giving her all she got!!!
The title should be "a bunch of guys walking around for 6:30 minutes with a huge paper airplane that crashes just like every other paper airplane"
The sound of the cameraman when it breaks... Lol
video starts at the end 6:26
The best part of this video was the guy falling flat on his face on the first launch attempt (3:25) haha :)
Estoy esperando la versión mejorada y que realmente vuele. Felicitaciones y sigan trabajando en este proyecto. Me gustó mucho!
6min 25 if anyone wants to see it fly
now listen guys, if one of these makes it to London with 1000kg of high explosive strapped in, you're in BIG trouble. ( but realistically you'd be employed after by the Americans who would fund the project to the level of space flight )
Biger motor and you would have been well away, good job, Cheers pete
Whoaaaa.. it's so big rc plane 😂
Keine Kohle für ein richtigen Motor! :-))
Und dann noch zerlegt!
Tcha, am falschen Ende gespart ;-)
Sweet :)
I got one thing confirmed for sure at least, if I make a dual winged plane of polystyrene with reinforcement, which actually could be flown for real, it would generate a ridiculous amount of lift in low speeds.
Gotta try this out :)
Yeah, I'm a bit crazy, but it has to be done.
could this have not been a 6 second video, rather than six minutes..?
I've never seen anyone cheer that much for a crash. Epic video though!
Now that's a big delta. I thought my 8 foot wing was huge :-) Almost looked like it was going to get airborne. Seeing the pieces on the crash I'm assuming there was no second flight :-)
Sorry for your lost. It was grossly under power. You should calculate the thrust to weight ratio. Delta require more thrust to weight ratio than a barn shape sail plane. Successful launch decline if the thrust to weight ratio is less than 0.5
At that wing area, it could have been a 23 percent ENLARGED scale model of the Facetmobile! (A very weird full scale homebuilt plane.)
Amazing job. lmao BTW this RC has about 3 times the area of the small ultralight real manned planes that are criticized for their "low wing loadings"! love going outta the box
Give all the club members a piece of it and have a build-off.. OR
take it home and insulate the Garage!!. . . good fun thanx.
put a 50cc gas engine on there
Co-pilot: Sir we're losing altitude! We need more power!
Captain: Na we'll do fine with this single motor.
*crashes within 15 seconds*
Title should read "how to turn a 15 sec. video into a 7 min. waste of time".
This is a very cool project but, due to underpower that it turns to pieces. Hopefully to see it soon again with enough engine power.
Glad I read the comments so I could go to 6:26 mins at the end and see the launch and crash soon after. Bummer. Worst video I've seen in awhile.
i thought it was cool that something that big could fly that far at such a slow speed.
Lol not bad, wonder if a larger prop would of done any better with this. If anything a second one could of helped it fly much better
Most of the video is boring, but when the plane lands, it makes a spectacular explosion.
So was there nobody involved who knew how to calculate power to weight ratio?
Its 25 kg and the thrust is 8 kg. Gentleman, its sufficient. Check our other plane that day flying great with the same setup (lend from LHS, and the 25 kg is upper weight limit here)
nighttime, more motors, flashing multicolor leds, and tons of ufo police calls.
Looks like the problem is more of too front heavy than not enough power. I was thinking about the Red Bull Flugtag event while going thru the video.
You guys expect that tini motor to move that big plane LMAO! I do not see how that can produce 8 KG of thrust, as the video shows, t=it could not overcome the wind, the plane yeilded and crashed, nice try though, but hate to see so much work lost when they could have built it with at least 4 of these motors and got a good flight for there efforts
(Spoiler) I like how at the end the thing literally rips itself apart.
That was FANTASTICALLY epic
What a funny time and a dream for all of us school time paper flyer, now RC flyer : build a BIG paper plane ! This one was big, but indeed need more than paper for the wings ! Great explosion guys ! I love it !!! Mission accomplished : she had flies !!!
so do u need full throttle all the time to make the plane fly?
i hae a scratchbuild mini F-15 it weights 200grams and thrust 200grams...so can u tell me if my mini F-15 can get up to the air and landed back in one piece?
Scrub to 6:15 unless you lke ....grass and men in matching sweatshirts ( Staff) it's interesting after that. In summary..please learn to edit as well as. More powerfully motor. Vielen danke.
that's a load of bollocks. I recently built a plane that weighs 12lbs and has 4lbs of thrust. it's plenty of power for that plane. if you're going to post a comment, do some research first.
that math doesn't check out. There aren't many RC planes out there with more than a 1:1 thrust ratio, and you're asking for more than 1:1, the thrust was there, the rigidity and strength was not.
don't u just love when people spend most of the time in there videos setting up the plane and only flies the darn thing for 15 seconds out of the 6 minutes in the video.
Surlly a plane of that size would need a much bigger motor and prop.the silly little thing you had on it would be u.s. That was a lot of plane to drag into the air .
yeah, let's record ourselves carrying around a giant piece of styrofoam for 6 and a half minutes, and then fly it for 30 seconds and crash it. great idea.
Going to add the action-start-time to description i found i already did. quoted 6:13 for actual flight (short)
I only needed to watch the last 20 seconds of the video. :( why did u not cut out the other 5 mins of the bid that only wasted my time
amazing. i am impressed it even got off the ground, i took one look at that prop and i knew it would all end in tears. funny crash vid.
Man the guy at the very last of it has a very guilty evil laugh, as if he had something to do with the supposed accidental crash!
It looks great, however I agree that it needed more power, or wing design that produce more lift to be able to fly at very low speed.
Aw, heck - they just needed a right good cliff to chuck it off. It's just like trying to throw a potato chip across the room...
I agree, what a load of crap, I kept saying "get on with it for fks sake", even the last 20 seconds were a disapointment.
wing fold pulling elevator...been there, just nowhere near this size! And when the plane is all wing? That's spectacular!
3:20 ... YES, you're on TH-cam now ツ
Yeah you think with all the effort that must have taken to build they would have done that :L
But if it were to carry passengers i would definately look into improving several issues :)
Bigger engine, just call it a microlight and put a pilot on board!
depends. If you are fucking going straight up, maybe. Otherwise, you get lift from your wings, not your engine.
The plane needed stronger servo motors and if the plane had 4 motors to propel it, it might fly better.
RIGHT!! It did not look like that little prop could possibly lift that big ass thing off the ground!!
you forgot the wind! whats the point in flying these if a wheezing asthmatic's cough can destroy it!
you DONT have to have over a 1:1 power ratio. my 2.4m cessna only has 0.6:1 and flies amazing.
You guys should have built a Flying Wing airplane as opposed to a Delta Wing.
the title should have been Another Spectacular HUGE RC plane joke, disaster/ waste of time!
With 70 lbs of thrust it could just take off vertically! It's awesome. Leave it at that.
Aaaaa... the motor is fine. Just needs a bitter prop...
It needs 2 little model turbine engines to get it going!
Watch them wind turbines ? Glad we only have trees to miss at our club
LOL. We might have a little issue with structural integrity there....
The actual launch takes place at 6:27, if you're not a huge fan of further ado.
you think you could have use a smaller prop for that giant plane? (sarcastic)
guess the farmer would disagree :) styro in his products dont sell
This is cool but can you PLEASE turn on the TH-cam stabilization. Holy cow.
it obviously crashed because of that one tiny prop you placed in the front!
i used to make paper airplanes as a kid that looked like this. very cool.
guys you needed a stronger engine. not this electrical toy.
Like one of them in the back ground ....
Thats one small prop for such a plane
Awsome!!! She was flying so soft and slow! :D Shame she crashed.
