Another great video, first the removal and now the install. Great solution for the wood and zip ties to keep the exhaust from separating. Hopefully you found a subframe for a good price. Large supply still in UK and Europe but difficult in USA and Canada due to prices. Hopefully it was taken from a parts car and the customer can keep another Saab on the road. Great job.

Yes, shipping a subframe to Canada is pricy. I found one with a good price, but it needed a bushing that I saved from the old one, some cleaning and rust paint. Thanks.

The timing belt, tensioner & pulleys must be replaced every 100K Km or risk serious engine damage. The oil cooler can leak and contaminate the engine cooling system 😱💰

Hi, did you have the engine support using a Support Bar above? The engine bay view is not in the video.

The motor is held by right side engine mount
& left side transmission mount. You don't have to stay under the engine after removing the subframe. If you are not sure if the engine & transmission mount are not strong enough, support the engine with a beam.

Thank you for this! Do I need to keep the subframe bolts relatively loose and do quick alignment checks before I tighten them. Is there enough play to cause left side to right side difference of maybe 10mm for axis or the bolts will guide the subframe to exact spot? Just making sure if there is play I can use prybar and strap to set subframe axis as evenly as possible so I do not affect vehicle caster angle too much. I appreciate it! 🙏

There is not a lot of play, once the subframe bolts are in place. Yes, you are correct. To leave the subframe bolts relatively loose for miner adjustments, before tightening them.

I just got my subframe replaced, is it necessary for me to get a wheel alignment or is it optional?

Hi! I have an '04 2.0T and want to install 2005+ subframe. As 2003-2004 cars have different set of engine/transmission mounts, I'm not sure if such conversion for later subframe is possible. Maybe you have such experience and can tell me if I gonna be able to install 2005+ subframe on my '04?
    Thanks in advance!
