So for the Dub Hot take there are definitely way more than 3 to 4 bad dubs, but I think that’s fine because not everyone watches terrible 80s and 90s OVA that were licensed and dubbed for 5 dollars, I would say that most modern dubs are fine, they’re serviceable and most voice actors are doing a good enough job that I might choose the dub so I don’t have to focus on keeping my eyes glued to the bottom of the screen so I don’t potentially miss something.
True. But I don't get that last point. That's not how ppl read subtitles. It's just looking at the screen. They're not at the complete bottom yk where you have to completely rely on peripheral vision.
The people hating dubs need to realise that in order for anime to be broadcast outside of Japan and play around the world, it had to be dubbed in multiple languages. If it wasn't for dubs, these people would have never heard of anime in the first place. The large majority of us were introduced to anime coz of dubs, and this dub-hating is a stupid trend that promotes elitism. "Subs are the only way to watch anime, and I'm better than you coz I watch subs" I *only* watch dubs and I'm proud to say it. If I was gonna watch subs then I'd just read the manga.
@@thomasffrench3639 Then I feel sorry for you. You force yourself to watch anime in a language you don't understand, just so you can say "I watch subs"
You're skewing your numbers by discounting the Naruto filler. He's probably counting the filler in that 75% that sucks, so you probably agree with him more than you think.
I thought the same thing, goal posts were definitely moved by just taking the filler out, especially when the discussion was specifically on the anime, not the manga.
Bleach filler gets too much hate. As someone who didn't read the manga at the time but did later, I felt that the certain filler helped showcase their struggles better. For example, the Bounts arc help show how Ichigo was struggling to use his bankai without white taking over, which was then expanded on in canon with his fight with Ulquiorra and Yammy and then Grimmjow. Also the stories may not be good but they're not bad either.
I totally agree. And to expand on your examples, the Shusuke Amagai Arc expands upon the royal families of the Soul Society, aside from the Kuchiki clan and, to an extent, the Shiba clan. The Zanpakuto Arc expands on the unique personalities of several Zanpakutos and expands the relationships between them and their Shinigami users. Some of the designs of the Zanpakuto later being actually canon during the TYBW Arc. And finally. The Gotei 13 Regai Arc expands upon Mod Souls and serves as a nice bridge for Ichigo maintaining his temporary Soul Reaper powers throughout the Arc. Especially when he lost his powers after his fight against Aizen. This Arc transitioned to the next canon Arc perfectly, with the last episode of that Arc actually being an adaptation of a Canon chapter before the Fullbringer Arc.
Yeah the composition is pretty weird for the Hanami fight. The real GOAT in the anime is the arc after that where Yuji, Nobara and Fushiguro get standalone fights. I love how that looks.
Here's an animation hot take. A lot of things I see praised as "great animation" boil down to extending the area in a way that breaks immersion. My example would be Shinra's introduction in Fire Force. As he moves to save Iris, the space between him and the other characters seemed to have gone up 100 meters so he show off a bunch of slick moves before he reaches her.
People who think they can relate to Okabe more often than not in my experience read him as charismatic and think of themselves as likewise charismatic, while willfully misunderstanding or underestimating the difficulties and existential dread that he is forced to undergo that makes his continued display of immature charisma actually impressive.
This sounds fun, I'll come up with 3 here: Speaking to isekai and shonen-type anime (as I can't speak to other genres, since I don't watch them), stories focus too much on characters who are extraordinary in one way or another; *very* rare that I've seen stories with an emphasis on characters that are "middle of the line" and stay as such (I'm sure there's counterexamples that I'm unaware of, but they aren't the big ones). Likely a result of the kinds of stories that are interesting to read (afterall, it feels good to see the main character get strong and so on), but imo there's certainly enough drama potential in the realm of the mediocre to write compelling stories that would resonate with audiences. Although this goes for pretty much every medium that I've consumed, I don't see it talked about much at all for any of them, and I do feel like it has potential to be a poorly received viewpoint, so it warrants mentioning I feel. Anime is too slow of a medium. Although I do fully understand why this is the case (anime is super high-effort to create, involves a high degree of collaboration, and is time consuming to produce), and do realise that this criticism also applies to many other mediums (movies, games (especially), TV (when done artistically), animation in general, manga and webcomics (though to a lesser extent), etc.), I find it difficult to care much about the medium because seasons take so long to finish coming out (3 months) and if you don't find one season's options interesting your out of luck for 3 months minimum. As a result, I watch anime binge-style (wait til the season ends then watch the season in one sitting (when it's not a 25 episode season, at least, lol)), but it takes so long for new stuff to come out this way that I usually end up with 6-month+ gaps between binge sessions. A much less "fair" criticism than the last one, but hey, it's how I feel in the end, even if I do realize that it isn't a reasonable complaint. Probably not a permanent dynamic though thankfully, since future AI developments will likely make producing anime orders of magnitude quicker to produce within some point of our lifetime, if not within the next decade or two. There isn't enough low-end-production anime. Although unsubstantiated by direct data (which I'd research were I to be making a video or essay, but this is a medium-effort shitposty zone atm so w/e), and thus mostly just the vibes of an outsider with basically zero knowledge of the industry behind the scenes, it seems to me like the majority of the anime out there is focused on producing stuff with an emphasis on producing mid-to-high-quality animation/music/etc. to avoid lambasting from critics and fans. I feel confident in assuming that anime's increased popularity has resulted in heightened budgets (similar to the case with games and movies, and all the good and bad that comes with that reality), but imo there should be more places that intentionally sacrifice quality (via lower budgets, smaller teams (though not at the expense of worker quality of life (not that it's good atm... but certainly not worse than the way things are); I would rather get absolutely nothing than something produced with the abuse of workers), quicker turnover, less polish, worse music and animation, etc.) to produce anime at a quicker pace, or for nicher content (less popular manga and webnovels), or for long-form content (in terms of continual weekly releases like one piece/naruto/etc.), or for the sake of continuing the bajillion anime that released only one season, and so on. Quality and "wowness" is nice and all, but not every anime needs to be (or even arguably should be) high-effort productions that aim to wow the audience (like the demon slayer anime did/dose) at the cost of 100,000s or millions of dollars and involving many-dozen-large teams. imo "bad" anime is just as valid as the good stuff, and the lack of a healthy sub-scene for anime that focuses on these kinds of productions (similar to the indie scene for games) is a big negative for anime as a whole; maybe it exists, but if it does it certainly doesn't exist to the extent that it does for video games, which is the kind of thing I'm envisioning in this regard. I do realize though though that our current socioeconomic reality makes such things difficult, so I do understand that there's many things in the way; still, I feel like it warrants mentioning and discussion.
The only anime where I prefer the dub over the sub would be Love is War and that’s nearly entirely because of the narrator. He’s literally one of the funniest parts of anything I’ve ever watched.
-Ask about *_anime_* hot takes -Get Naruto hot take saying 25% is good the rest bad -"debunk" hot take using the manga, specifically because the filler in the anime is bad
7:45 is just what you do not like it is in fact considered by people in the business to be great. it is much harder to do and actually makes it look like the characters are moving rather than detailed stills of characters
Hot take: I don't like Hunter x Hunter. Everyone I know says that is literally an incorrect stance to take considering I am an anime fan. I am fine being wrong here, but I am an anime fan who doesn't like Hunter x Hunter, and it seems that no other anime hot take I have compares to this one.
Nope you're right. HxH is in the same league as Dragon Ball when we're talking overrated. Decent shows but get stupid levels of hype because it reaches the non-anime audience and gets rated far higher than it actually should be. HxH is carried by Yorknew and the 2nd half of the Chimera Ant arc. It's stupid how much hype it gets despite how many slump arcs it has
One more anime hot take: I can't stand deus ex machina style upgrades/transformations in the middle of important fights which seem all to present in the current shonen battle anime formula.
Anime doesn’t have to be “technically” well written as long as you can make your audience care. Fairy Tail is my favorite anime even with all its plot armor and bs. I love the entire cast and we get to know the stories of the entire cast. I thinks as long as the anime keeps you caring then it’s a good anime HxH chimera arc was a bit boring to me. I wish the anime stuck to kurapika in the city. I was just way more invested in that story than the bugs
Isekai as a premise isn't bad, and most of the criticisms thrown at it don't even apply to most isekai, let alone the most popular ones. People have a sterotype of it in their heads and simply attribute those characteristics to it, warranted or not. Examining the finer details of a series matters in media criticism, it's easy to assume two things are exactly the same because of a few superfical similarities. That's not to say each series don't have their issues, or that the lack of variety in location can't be tiresome at times, but those aren't necessarily inherit to the premise itself. Also one more thing. Time travel isn't isekai and it never was, things like Inuyasha and Dr. Stone aren't isekai.
I saw in the example hot takes in the first minute of the video that "komi San is overrated because of it's one dimensional characteristics and it's reliance on stalker characters." Wanted to put it here again because its true
A movie isn't enough to bind with a character???? I guess this guy has never watched Violet Evergarden because that anima makes me cry every single episode with a different newly introduced character
None of these are animes, but The Princess Bride? Shawshank Redemption? Forrest Gump? The Truman Show? Prince of Egypt? ANY classic Disney movie? ANY early 2000s Pixar movie? The list goes on. The take is just so weird, there are an uncountable amount of examples that have (imo) compelling characters that are presented within a typical movie format.
Here's my spicy take, HxH is the best shonen animanga ever. Most of the series you all love borrowed from Togashi and couldn't even do it better. Only other shonen that comes close is One Piece. Also CSM is way better than JJK, it's not even close.
CSM pacing is painfully bad and killing characters for just cheap shock moment. HXH is great but it has too much info dump and exposition sometimes it feel like you reading a novel not battle shonen.
@@thomasffrench3639 Arguable tbh but if you think HxH is not cohesive I can't listen to any of your opinions. I can easily say Togashi orchestrates and choreographs his fight scenes better probably due to the fact his nen power sytem is genius.
I might be a bit too late on this topic, but I would still like to share my opinion. Not sure if you’re familiar with Inuyasha, but I’ve watched it’s anime sequel Yashahime since 2020 and has ended this year. While flawed during its first season, it had potential. Then the second season came out and it is an improved. But than the second half of the second season suddenly took a somewhat 180* turn. The pacing was suddenly rushing (jumping from one plot point to another within seconds), the writing got off as no key plot points that were established in the first season weren’t brought up again, and the characters seemed out of character. It took a couple of episodes for me to care for the new characters, but by the end I sorta stopped caring for them and the situations they were in. Though, that doesn’t mean I hate them. I feel like the sequel had potential that only got wasted. Luckily, there’s a manga with a different story and seems a lot better in its writing and pacing.
That’s a shame… I was kinda excited to hear there was more Inuyasha (finally, an anime I’ve seen, I thought, and there’s a sequel?) but if it’s a weak offering that’s not great news.
Can’t offer a hot take… I’m too casual of a viewer and really only want to watch Fullmetal Alchemist (mostly Brotherhood but both have their points) and have nothing new to offer that I didn’t hear in someone’s analysis video. But both of those make a good argument for English dubs. They’re some outstanding quality, especially vs what I had the misfortune to overhear back when my daughter was little enough to be into Beyblade. So much whining! “PegasuUuUuUuUusssss!!!”
Hot Take: I really don't get why people love Kimi no Na wa (Your Name.) so much. I thought it was pretty basic, with some nice animation, but the story and characters weren't that great or compelling. Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice) came out just a couple of months later and I felt didn't get as much recognition, even though it was better in almost every way.
Really enjoyed the vid man, hope this become a series of videos from you. Do here's my contribution: hot take - wano kuni was the biggest disapointment in one piece's history, probably had one of the worst ending ending in the series (so far). Kaido was set up to be a huge threat but there was no tension of the alliance actually losing. Big mon and kaido falling into magma just to end the battle was dumb. Gear 5 was pretty cool and funny but should have been foreshadowed better, by having the nika name brought up earlier in the series. Also there was too much set up and almost no payoff in the arc.
My actual anime hot take: Attack on Titan is simply an anime held afloat by shock value. Admittedly, I haven't watched most of the anime. However, objectively the premise is about as sensical as Darling in the Franxx. Somehow, flesh gundams are a more accessible technology than nukes. Also, faceless enemy is bad
I mean no offense, but your take is simply wrong. Especially seeing as you admit to not having watched most of the anime. Plus there are several anime with more nonsensical plots.
The Chimera Ant arc in HxH is very well done and is probably one of the best arcs in shounen-type anime. The rest of the series is just not as strong. I've seen people repeatedly call it the greatest anime of all time and I just can't get my head around that. Without getting into the details of objectivity and subjectivity in art, there are stronger anime out there.
Something like York New is constantly being completed to the Ant arc. I think parts of the story are just as strong give or take. I'd also say you're saying the rest of the series isn't as strong but that doesn't mean it's bad. The Chimera Ant arc is near a 10/10 while more of the other arcs are like a 8.5/10 so still pretty damn strong. Overall, I've find few shows in anime that can match HXH.

I don't hate HxH, I see it as a solid 7/10 series. But the moments not named Yorknew or CHimera drag the series down so much that I can never understand the testement of saying it's the greatest anime of all time much less shonen. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and maybe I'm just the odd one out
I think one piece is a nightmare to get into. At least in the anime. I've made it 150 episodes in and although there have been some neat moments, Toei ruins the show with its myriad of unnecessary dialogue, annoying animation that's supposed to be funny or memorable, and their attempts to be emotional come off as flat and too in your face on the matter
NGL, I love the one piece anime but my ADHD brain dictates my watch metod: I skip the first 1/3 of basically every epsiode, I skip filler arcs and someitmes watch on 1.25-2X speed. Gotta praise the music though holy crap I think it's phenomenally underrated. I also can tolerate the "in your face"-ness because as much as the arcs can start to feel formulaic, it's still fun once that aspect is acknowledged.
"These characters don't even file like they're in the same place as the background. They're moving at entirely different rates" Isn't that how it's supposed to be?
He doesn't mean the characters in relation to each other, he means the characters in relation to the ground/object they are on. It's basically an issue with melding cg/traditional animation. They aren't integrated properly and it ruins any sort of immersion
Not a hot take but the I have a hard time embracing the pacing of anime past maybe mid 2010s. The pacing or the techniques employed to convey a sense of fast pace for example the wide use of fast bpm music or when it's rock, very fast riffs and non stop fast melodies, the camera switch and a lot of the animations. It really makes the industry as a whole feels homogeneous and less interesting.
Yeah the soundtrack relates very well to the anime , but i wouldn’t say it has the best it’s one of the best , AOT and death notes soundtrack are on par with it or maybe even better for some people
I'm saying it. Tokyo Ghoul has the best fanbase. When have you ever heard a toxic ghoul fan. When have you ever heard them say "this is the greatest anime ever!" When have you even heard of a fan of this series. Well I am and this is my hot take.
Simple fact: Japanese voice actors spend their entire life trying to become voice actors in a larger more competitive Japanese workforce. That alone makes the quality of subs better in my opinion despite not understanding the language. After watching over a hundred shows I believe I can tell passion regardless of the language. Some of these dubs sound like generic radio dramas but ik I can be very critical so sorry if I offend anyone.
@@JW-xd8up Dub actors get too much hate considering most of them commit their entire profession to it and aren't just part-timers like people think they are (although they sometimes have to be considering how shitty VA pay is). But it's just like objective that the Japanese have far more focus on VA work than in the States. It's a far more respectable career there and far more lucrative, they have entire schools dedicated to just VA'ing. Doesn't really matter to me I perfer my native language anyways
@@brusselseastside3546 Oh I absolutely agree about the voice acting school point. I just think it’s a shame that ppl crap on dub actors and not the culture around them.
The skill gap between dub and sub actors isn’t really that wide…..I feel like that is saying Japanese voice actors are better then English voice actors overall. I honestly feel like English voice actors have more skill due to the fact that they probably don’t just do anime. They probably do voice acting for western animations and video games. I’m not saying Japanese VAs can’t do that as well but I just feel like English VAs are overall more versatile and have some other form of acting experience outside of animation.
Nahh. Why do you gotta be dishonest by taking the Naruto filler arcs out of the equation? I thought the title of this video was 'These ANIME Hot Takes Are Insane'? That person was obviously counting the anime's notorious filler arcs as well. I'm gonna have to debunk your debunk.
Not bad but definitely one of the worst animes I've watched. I kept giving it a chance despite how boring it was up till york new arc and thought it was finally picking up and boom went right back to trash tier afterwards. It's surprisingly underwhelming despite how short it was.
here's my anime hot take : I don't feel you should you should try to discuss or judge anime if all the anime you'd watched has been from 2010 and forward . im so tired of having anime discussions and then losing the group when I say things like " you know if you think about it ,you can kinda see how when they wrote kakashi's character they took some influence from the main character of the GTO series ( great teacher onizuki)". because they've never watched an anime older than 2010 or having some fan embarass themselves because they try to pull a um actually on me when they thought I was talking about an anime from 2014 when I was actually talking about an anime from 1998 . Not hating on anime from the last 12 years at all I am very happy with what's coming out these days . Im just saying more of us should peep just a little bit of anime from the 70's, 80's ,90's and 2000's because I feel it gives you so much more perspective and forethought for the entire genre as a whole from the characters and art styles used to the actual writers and the historical environments they lived IRL that influenced them to write and make what they did .
Yes dubs are getting good and number of bad dubs are decreasing, the problem even now is in the dub is voice casting certain characters that dont match for the i watched mushoku tensei sub and dub while the sub is awsome in every way the dub is still good but certain characters voice didn't match like redus dad, kirishika, etc but i absolutely loves the English voice of rudeus, eris, ruijard, mangod, dragongod, roxy, basically dubs now are good to great depending on the voice behid the characters they do
@@ShinodaChan I actually don't get it. I mean I can understand why ppl like the manga even if I haven't red further than the first volume. However, a whole Anime on that premise seems a bit much to me.
Rengoku is absolutely a trash character, they introduce that character as an "asshole" a racist to demons, he is not on Kanjiro's side when Kanjiro meets all the Hashira, there are decent Hashira, but Rengoku was not one of them, he was one of the many very dislikable ones. Then almost immediately, you start the arc/movie with him. They try to make you hate him less during that time, but it's 7 episodes, and a large part of those episodes is just him being super annoying with his "Tasty!" spam. When the character died I was not sad about it in the least, he felt like a bad guy who just had a few good moments, and was heroic in his final moments. I'm not excited over his death or anything, but the impact of it was low. I'd have been way more sad if they had inserted the water Hashira voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch in that arc and killed him off at the end. That guy seems pretty decent. Flame Hashira never felt like someone to root for. Bad character.
I'm very much a casual anime fan. I like anime, but I haven't watched nearly as much as everyone here, so you might have to take my opinions with a grain of salt. But these _are_ hot takes, so maybe you don't have to. To start: 1) Netflix's Cowboy Bebop was good. I'm sad that it's not getting a 2nd season, especially because... 2) I actually like it more than the original animated version, and also 3) I don't love the original animated version. It's well animated and artistic, but it didn't grab me. The Netflix one did. 4) Speaking of Netflix anime adaptations, not only do I think the live action One Piece show will be good, I think it's gonna exceed expectations, and it's actually literally currently my most anticipated not just show, but anything. 5) On the subject of One Piece, Wano > Marineford. As far as events, Marineford is great, but I thought it dragged. It's still a good arc, and has great moments and I do understand why people love it, but if I had to rewatch an arc, I would rewatch Wano over Marineford in a heartbeat. 6) This also goes for Dressrosa. Wano > Dressrosa. 7) I should also mention that I don't read manga, and have to interest or intention to ever read it. I'm anime only. 8) And I prefer subs over dubs. With a few exceptions, like Bleach. 9) Speaking of Bleach, the show goes downhill after the Soul Society arc. Not that there aren't great moments after that. I still think the Soul Society is peak Bleach. Although TYBW _could_ change that. 10) I guess for my last one, I have to touch on Naruto. Not only is Shippuden one of my favorite anime, Naruto is not only just my favorite character in Naruto, he is currently my favorite anime protagonist. And yes, even though One Piece > Naruto/Shippuden, Naruto > Luffy.
Cowboy bebop is pretty mediocre except for the Tank song, Sword Art Online is ten times better and actually has an interesting concept not just sci fi bounty hunting.
my hot take on anime. anime fans are too pridefull. even when your wrong accept it. naruto can clap luffy. one piece is peek fiction. one piece is better than dragon ball super. NOOOOT Z. bleach from start to tybw is 10 out of ten. and boruto ruined naruto. change my mind. im readdy to have a discussion
Zankyou No Terror is an S tier show, and the best of 2014. Trigun is (mostly) boring. Code Geass focuses too much on the mechs. Death Note's manga is perfection.

Agree!!!
Hot take: demon slayer, my hero academia , seven deadly sins are overhated

-Get Naruto hot take saying 25% is good the rest bad
-"debunk" hot take using the manga, specifically because the filler in the anime is bad
7:45 is just what you do not like it is in fact considered by people in the business to be great. it is much harder to do and actually makes it look like the characters are moving rather than detailed stills of characters
My anime hot take: "Corey in the House" is not the best anime of all time.
There, I said it.
So, cat in the hat is the better anime?
The Saga of Tanya the evil is a top 5 anime
It's stupid how much hype it gets despite how many slump arcs it has
@Aoi Shi ???? It's the same exact thing that he said except I threw in Dragon Ball in there
Hot take: Yu Yu Hakusho's ending wasn't that bad.
I agree with the Rengoku comment! I felt he died way too early.
Wow, wasnt expecting my take to be prominent on the video! Great vídeo by the way
i got a hot take for you Naruto vs Pain has better animation in that episode than the entire demon slayer anime + wano arc in one piece.
W
I think when people talk about JJK animation theyre mostly referring to season 2 so idk if the Hanami fight is really a hot take
One more anime hot take:
I can't stand deus ex machina style upgrades/transformations in the middle of important fights which seem all to present in the current shonen battle anime formula.
you need slapped that you didn't include the zabuaza arc in your breakdown lol
Land of Waves greatest intro shonen arc of all time! Not even a naruto fan but shit had me hooked from the beginning with part 1
fax. he was bigging icl
Anime doesn’t have to be “technically” well written as long as you can make your audience care. Fairy Tail is my favorite anime even with all its plot armor and bs. I love the entire cast and we get to know the stories of the entire cast. I thinks as long as the anime keeps you caring then it’s a good anime
HxH chimera arc was a bit boring to me. I wish the anime stuck to kurapika in the city. I was just way more invested in that story than the bugs
I liked Fairy Tail too!
Also great take on your end, Violet Evergarden is peak to me.
Here's my spicy take, HxH is the best shonen animanga ever. Most of the series you all love borrowed from Togashi and couldn't even do it better. Only other shonen that comes close is One Piece.
Also CSM is way better than JJK, it's not even close.
Chances are, they actually borrowed from Dragon Ball/DBZ, just like HxH
I agree the top shounens are OP and HXH
CSM pacing is painfully bad and killing characters for just cheap shock moment. HXH is great but it has too much info dump and exposition sometimes it feel like you reading a novel not battle shonen.
One Piece is way better than Hunter x Hunter just because it’s way more cohesive as a story
@@BeeWhistler
You can still watch the sequel if you want. I don’t want to ruin your fun. There’s also a manga by Takashi Shiina going on.
There needs to be a faithful anime of Elric of Melniboné
Monster is the greatest anime series of all time
Exactly!! Straight up masterpiece
Not for kids though
Really enjoyed the vid man, hope this become a series of videos from you. Do here's my contribution: hot take - wano kuni was the biggest disapointment in one piece's history, probably had one of the worst ending ending in the series (so far). Kaido was set up to be a huge threat but there was no tension of the alliance actually losing. Big mon and kaido falling into magma just to end the battle was dumb. Gear 5 was pretty cool and funny but should have been foreshadowed better, by having the nika name brought up earlier in the series. Also there was too much set up and almost no payoff in the arc.
My actual anime hot take:
Attack on Titan is simply an anime held afloat by shock value.
It's also not just "senseless enemy is bad". You would know this if you actually watched the anime before forming an opinion.
Can you name a few of those anime that you think is stronger than hxh
@@cowguts8679 There's contless. Just going off the top 200 of MAL alone ...
FMAB, Kaguya Sama, Gintama, AOT, Steins Gate, LOTGH, 3 Gatsu, Violet Evergarden, Code Geass (personal bias), Monster, SxF, Cowboy Bebop, Mushishi, Odd Taxi, Vinland (although not very comparable since much of the manga isn't adapated), Tommorow's Joe, Rocky Joe, Great Teacher, Made in Abyss (gets even better with manga), Your Lie in April, Evangelion, Ping Pong, Tatami Galaxy, Madoka Magica, Slam Dunk, Berserk 1997, Jojos if we're including SBR, Mononoke, Stand Alone Complex, Ergo Proxy, Psycho Pass, Hellsing (bias), Monogatari series if this counts, Rose of Versailles (bias), Aria Series (bias), Initial D (bias), NIchijou...
Please don't take this as HxH hate I just went through the list quickly and wanted to get a comment out quickly so my opinions may change if I sit on it a little more but based on my inital reactions these I see as better; I also understand that not everything here is very comparable because 1) something like Nichjou, for example, vs HxH is in a completely different genre and 2) many of these are single season where it's much easier to make a satisfying show in 24 episodes. I don't hate HxH, I see it as a solid 7/10 series. But the moments not named Yorknew or CHimera drag the series down so much that I can never understand the testement of saying it's the greatest anime of all time much less shonen. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and maybe I'm just the odd one out
Naruto shippuden is also goated
Hot take:Luffy is literally just a stretchy Gumball sprinkled with a little bit of personality
Hot take: No hot character will justify that an Anime is good
i love how the guy who called hunter x hunter mid has a demon slayer profile pic, like, come on dude
I personally think the todo&Itadori vs hanami fight was good at making me excited as the place just distorts
Your take on JJK's animation is so true.
Damn I wasn't expecting this lmao, thnx for reading my essay. Great points man, tho mine still stands, Rengoku is mid
YU YU Hakusho is better than Hunter X Hunter
And I don't think that should be a hot take!
Not with how it ended...
For the steinz gate guy: what? You mean a show genre designed to appeal to guys is appealing to guys?
Facts The Chimera Ants Arc Is Boring
Well at the middle but it really knows how to land a great ending.
They're moving at entirely different rates"
Isn't that how it's supposed to be?
No everything should flow as one and feel organic.
He doesn't mean the characters in relation to each other, he means the characters in relation to the ground/object they are on. It's basically an issue with melding cg/traditional animation. They aren't integrated properly and it ruins any sort of immersion
Ash ketsmum is a bit overhated
Not a hot take but the I have a hard time embracing the pacing of anime past maybe mid 2010s. The pacing or the techniques employed to convey a sense of fast pace for example the wide use of fast bpm music or when it's rock, very fast riffs and non stop fast melodies, the camera switch and a lot of the animations. It really makes the industry as a whole feels homogeneous and less interesting.
Hot take: clannad is untouched in terms of slice of life story it went where no anime usually touches and I prefer the dub lmao
I’ve never had a huge problem with dubs
I ultimately like subs more, but I enjoy my personal favorite anime in dub
Berserk 97 has the best soundtrack in anime history and it's so much better than the trilogy movies on Netflix.
Yeah the soundtrack relates very well to the anime , but i wouldn’t say it has the best it’s one of the best , AOT and death notes soundtrack are on par with it or maybe even better for some people
@@bhuvaneshgandhi1142 they both do have a good soundtrack but I still think berserk 97 is the best I've ever heard.
@@xelu01 well it can’t be argued because probably it is
I personally think seinens are leagues better than majority of shonens
Many English dub actors are professionally trained theater actors, such as the late great Chris Ayers.
Project Arms is under rated.
Fairy tail sucks
thats just an objective fact
Sort of Hot Take Zoro and luffy are the funniest duo in all of anime
Nahh. Why do you gotta be dishonest by taking the Naruto filler arcs out of the equation? I thought the title of this video was 'These ANIME Hot Takes Are Insane'? That person was obviously counting the anime's notorious filler arcs as well. I'm gonna have to debunk your debunk.
My hottest take remains unquenched: Dragon Ball Z movie Bio-Broly is a good, fun time and I don't understand why people don't think so.
HxH isn't mid but it's not the zenith of anime people make it out to be. It's like a 6.5-7/10 depending on the arc
6.5????? Nigga what??
I love it, but would put it at a 7 or 8.
Blasphemy! The Nen system is unlike any Magic System in anything to date.
HxH is a very bad series. It's bellow average, in fact.
Which is a shame, because Yu Yu Hakusho is incredible.
Not bad but definitely one of the worst animes I've watched. I kept giving it a chance despite how boring it was up till york new arc and thought it was finally picking up and boom went right back to trash tier afterwards. It's surprisingly underwhelming despite how short it was.
here's my anime hot take :
I don't feel you should you should try to discuss or judge anime if all the anime you'd watched has been from 2010 and forward .
im so tired of having anime discussions and then losing the group when I say things like
" you know if you think about it ,you can kinda see how when they wrote kakashi's character they took some influence from the main character of the GTO series
( great teacher onizuki)". because they've never watched an anime older than 2010 or having some fan embarass themselves because they try to pull a um actually on me when they thought I was talking about an anime from 2014 when I was actually talking about an anime from 1998 .
Yes we like these and we need more 😂😂
Yes dubs are getting good and number of bad dubs are decreasing, the problem even now is in the dub is voice casting certain characters that dont match for the i watched mushoku tensei sub and dub while the sub is awsome in every way the dub is still good but certain characters voice didn't match like redus dad, kirishika, etc but i absolutely loves the English voice of rudeus, eris, ruijard, mangod, dragongod, roxy, basically dubs now are good to great depending on the voice behid the characters they do
Uraraka and deku is a boring ship, the two are so alike I damn near thought they were brother and sister at one point.
Demon slayer gets carried by animation
Funny you didn't even touch the Komi San opinion. To controversial?
As the person who wrote said opinion: there's simply no arguing with the truth.
Have you heard about Yu-Gi-Oh! creator, Kazuki Takahashi? Man, it was hard.
The english voice actor pool is way too small and hearing the same 6 actors in multiple shows is becoming annoying.
Hot take: rengoku is mid
and bad character design
dbz: kai was better than dbz
it might just be me but i personally dont want to waste my time with filler
I'm very much a casual anime fan. I like anime, but I haven't watched nearly as much as everyone here, so you might have to take my opinions with a grain of salt. But these _are_ hot takes, so maybe you don't have to. To start:
1) Netflix's Cowboy Bebop was good. I'm sad that it's not getting a 2nd season, especially because...
2) I actually like it more than the original animated version, and also
3) I don't love the original animated version.
That Chimera ant arc in HxH is overrated.
