Nice vid. Hec… my mamba 60e took me 2 days to assemble! And I used to build race cars! 😂 I will be putting my RV-8 G2 60e together on Saturday, but I’m first taking out the pilot to paint it! I think it’s ridiculous that they are not painted for the amount of money I paid for this piece of foam! lol… I know how you guys felt flying this because that’s exactly how I felt when I flew my mamba for the first time! Thanks for the video.
Like you say it could teach new pilots bad habits. The plane is that rock solid in the air it might lure newcomers into a false sense of security. They fly this really well because the plane flies amazing then spend loads of money on a big petrol powered P51 and expect the same results but it consequently bites them in the arse leaving a bitter aftertaste towards the hobby. But for more experienced flyers this does look like the holy grail of planes I must say. Amazing review guys.
Nice review! I have its little brother and the flight characteristics seem very similar. The thing that I have found about flex planes (I also have their Pirania- Great plane, but a bit too loud with its pusher prop), is that they prioritize flight characteristics over a very refined finish. I believe that this is to reduce weight to make the planes as light as possible and therefore fly the best that they can. I took out an old 4s powered RV7 from another manufacturer yesterday and realized how little rudder authority it has and how much easier it drops a wing and how compromised its landing gear is compared to my Flex RV8-10. the problem is that It's easy to want most of their electric offerings! Not surprising when you consider that they are designed by an ex world champion, who basically introduced the world to 3D flight.
Great flights and review of the Flex Innovations RV-8 G2 and I love the new color. I think with some experience with the RV-8 10e this could be a great step up in size.
I have the CAP 232 G1 and it was a bit pricey too. (Not as much as the RV8 60) But its worth every penny. No doubt. I have the Mamba 10 G2 and the QQ Extra 300 (the 300 I jacked up to 4s with a Badass motor. But my cap fly's amazing. I have been eyeing the RV8.
Both brands have their place in the hobby. They offer very different types of planes and performance. This RV-8 is still to date, my favorite plane. If you get the chance to fly one, take it! Then you can understand how special this plane is.

Hardly! Eveyone I've had and Eveyone at my club is nothing but problems! Complete junk servos on a 700$ plane! Yeah flex innovations is trash!

Could you show me a close up of your battery placement? Thanks 👍
