As a 40 year old absolutely OBSESSED with your style roots, I have a theory that you have 2 style roots that stay with you your entire life, and a style root that stays with you for a season of life (not a season of the year, lol). I spent my teens as earth/mushroom/moon, my twenties earth/mushroom/flower, my thirties earth/mushroom/stone. Looking forward to seeing what my forties bring! 🌱🍄 + ? Love the style roots content!!

Ooh I love this theory. Maybe this is why I can never settle on a 3rd root. Perhaps it depends on where you are in life.
@@itsrobynedwards Yes!! I loved my moon/flower times but once I became a stay at home mom in my 30's...stone really had to jump in and give me a break, lol. The delicateness of flower didn't make sense for my life, nor did the edgy-ness of moon. But now that my kids are getting a little older and I'm not crawling around the floor with kids everyday, I'm excited to see where it takes me!

That's a great theory! Your third root could be influenced by age, location, hobbies, relationships, career, health, etc.

Have you done a video yet on how to analyze which style roots are in a piece of clothing? I freaking love these outfits & totally would’ve missed seeing the less obvious style roots. I’m moon > earth > fire & the last 2 style roots are completely opposite to me, so this would really help!
I have flower and fire as style root, but as a buisness onwer I try to add mountain to the lot to look more professional. I found some blazers with cute flower inspired details, like bows and small gathering at the sleves. But for those blazers who are more classic, pairing it with a flowy satin and lace tank top, a dark, simple skinny jeans, and a pearl brooch is what bring the delicate and girly into the classic and structured buisness attire. Your video confirmed I was on point! Thanks for the counsels.

That's a fun combo. I feel like that celestial skirt she had is very moon earth and sun and adding in some colour or something more playful like statement earrings would bring in more sun

for work, i lean more mountain with a combination of my 3 roots, and as i'm fairly active, i don't really conform to these roots when i'm working out (maybe a bit of moon and sun with some stone), but in the every day i'm those 3 for sure.

This concept is absolutely brilliant and I think you’re onto something that nobody ever really thought about. I love the idea of being able to use multiple aesthetics and fit them into my own personal style roots. Tbh, I think some aesthetics are much more difficult to make work with some roots (like Dark Academia with 🌸, which I have tried to do and it’s not always entirely cohesive).
But the amazing thing about it, is: some of the Dark Academia pieces that I own never entirely felt like me (even though they work very well for my body type) and before discovering your system, it always felt like putting on a costume when I was wearing them. Now, I know how to tweak them into fitting my 🌸🍄🔥 roots. The outfits are not always entirely ideal, but there are elements of me in them, and I can recognize myself when I look into the mirror. And it’s so much better that always getting rid of everything that’s not perfect in your wardrobe.
I actually finally understood the idea of « expressing yourself through style » when I got into your system. So thank you ❤

My favorite sun and moon combo is my oversized day-glow yellow tank-top with faux leather leggings. I wear it with black and white vans for a splash of stone.

I have a thing going on with preppy and clean, ethereal flowy, sometimes butterflies and flowers in jewelry or print and kind of rugged outdoorsy

You have no idea how much your concept of style roots has helped me in my personal style journey, I love flower as a style root and it made sense that lots of outfits seemed too strict and grown up/boring on me, now I add something soft and cute and frilly and it looks so much more Me xx

This definitely better helps to understand the concepts brought up in your general style roots videos. Seeing them in practice, being manipulated (there might be a better word for that 😅) to exaggerate and emphasize different outfits makes it easier to differentiate pieces!
Loved this. Mine are fire, mountain and flower so I do a lot of very juxtaposed looks.

Hi! Curious if anyone has suggestions in combining some other opposite style elements.
I am a DC, and find those lines most flattering on me, and a dark winter, and find those colors most flattering on me. My style roots are moon and stone, and have yet to figure out the other.
I have gotten feedback that I have an ethereal and dramatic essence. I particularly love bringing ethereal elements, but have difficulty remaining in the flattering DC lines and dark winter colors. Any tips on bringing moon x ethereal style with DC lines?
moon, flower, sun here. i liked your moon/sun combo although the blouse would be to much for me. liked the sparkling skirt a lot to for my roots.
Bringing out different roots in one outfit is an interesting concept and it certainly works for some styles and pieces. However, in some cases it does look pretty off to me like in the moon vs. flower and earth vs. stone examples. To me, these outfits look like thrown together without a concept, they just don't quite fit together and don't "tell a story". The one root only outfits (moon allover, earth allover) look SO much better than the opposite root outfits imo. So I think it's a hit or miss for mixing opposite roots in one outfit.
Could you do a video on how to dress for your season when it's out of season? Like how does a true spring or light summer dress when fall gets here? I feel out of place wearing lavender or tangerine in November

I can assure you I’ve had nothing done - I wouldn’t even know where to go around here 🤣 hand on heart I would share it with my audience if I got any cosmetic procedures done, for authenticity and because it would be good content! What you’re seeing in this video is good light and concealer, my bags are the same as always!

It would have flow but it wouldn’t be as earthy as the Earth Root.
