So this movie/musical was way before my time, but I caught it on TMC one day and when I saw Sharif/ his character for the first time, my reaction was the exact same as those women: stunned silence at just how damn gorgeous he was 😂
I FREAKING LOVE HER 😂 I saw this movie for the first time in 2011 because I’m a huge Leanatic and Glee would always mention Funny Girl/Barbra and I had to see what it was about, I seriously became hooked on Barbra as soon as she came onscreen, she’s freaking gorgeous and HILARIOUS in this! I love when she goes “like in a poker game” her accent is just so adorable!!!!
@@manuelorozco7760 lol I had to endure seasons 4-6, but thankfully my brain has blocked out seasons 5 & 6 for obvious reasons. At least you didn’t have to deal w all the pain firsthand 😭
@@KeKe4Christ Well. Besides Glee turning into the Rachael Show, seeing her and some of the others in college and the loss of Finn were the last things I wanted to see. And when Season 4 happened I recently graduated high school which was a tough few years afterwards.
The color of the films back then ..it’s better than the color now and the reason is because they used a special chemical in the film. They coated it with some kind of chemical which is now considered very hazardous or it was too expensive to use but some of those films from the 60s , the color is so vibrant they should do that again because right now the way they make movies they suck they’re too dark and the color blows.
I maybe a millennial and this movie may have been way before my time, but I can relate to being tired of muted colors. I say colors should always reflect the tone of the story.
If it was technicolor, it was filmed exposing three black and white fine grain negatives, red, green, and blue. Then the prints were made using a dye transfer process to get those rich colors on one piece of color film. The art direction and lighting had to be good too.
Звезда Зигфелда и карточный игрок составили прекрасную пару. Она его любила и он ее обожал. Фильм стал классикой. Его показывали в кино,затем на VHS и DVD. А Стрейзанд стала супер звездой.
Omar sharif loved Barbra and she loved him ,they almost got married but back then it was a conflict between Egypt and Israel ,they forced him to leave her.
Well, there was another *little* problem with that -- they were both married to other people at the time. Sharif was still married to Egyptian actress Faten Hamama (she divorced her first husband for him and he converted to Islam for her) and Streisand was still married to Eliott Gould.
They weren't supposed to be a good match. She felt inferior to him because of their differing backgrounds and was blinded to his faults by his beauty. And he used that to his advantage.
DAM,, OMAR WAS SO GORGEOUS THEN
When he realized he agreed to fifty dollars a week and grabs his hat, cracks me up

I was never into Glee until after the Pandemic but my Aunt recommended it to me. She’s a huge Barbra fan

I didn't know that but I have wondered why the colour in old film was so bright, so gorgeous.

Barbara Streisand in her youth was one of the most beautiful women who ever lived, in my opinion. I could gaze at her forever.
How did Dr Zhivago get to NYC.

Most likely by plane...

Who caused this movie to be made?
Hollywood. Many popular Broadway musicals get made into movies.
Then you have no taste
Bad match for Omar and Barbara.
Omar sheriff and Julie christie were the best match .
They weren't supposed to be a good match. She felt inferior to him because of their differing backgrounds and was blinded to his faults by his beauty. And he used that to his advantage.
Many Middle Eastern and North African men are handsome. Once you get south of the Sahara, they start looking like Obama.
According to Omar sharif: when I first saw her I told the director no I can't do this movie ,she's hideous it won't work!
nuh-uh, no way he said that... did he actually say that?

It’s amazing how young Clooney manages to look like young Omar and young Clark gable at the same time.
