And what if jpg is not int the options window?

in newer version we can just use export as method. that works fine in Photoshop 2022 version.

when exporting however it compresses the DPI to low res - any ideas on how to not compress?

Go to: Edit -> Preferences -> File Handling -> then check the case of "Enable legacy ''Save As''"
