    1. Think long term. 5 years plus.
    2. Don’t get attached to events. Keep your calm.
    3. Read. Make yourself better for future. Listen to audio book
    4. Turn failure into feedback. How to do it better next time.
    5. Respond; don’t react.
    6. Be on time.
    7. See problem as challenges
    8. Value time over money
    9. Start your day right. Find a routine.
    10. Focus on strategy and not tactics
    11. Schedule time to think.

    12. Remember: the purpose of your organization is to serve society. Always ask “how can we be of more and better service as well as balance the needs over the long term of the employees, customers and keeping the company in business”

    • @petescott
      @petescott  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1000% agree with this. Being customer centric and growing from within is the real growth, most get this the wrong way round and are too busy trying to market to NEW clients, while forgetting what's already in their world.

    Value the people working under you and reward the one's that stand out.
    I've noticed a trend recently where frontline employees are being undervalued by the C- suite. There's this really strange notion that it's actually the executives that run the company 😂😂😂 I think it's what happens when all the companies use the same 4 international consulting firms.... They start acting the same. Let's go back to the good old days where companies run as well oiled machines and everyone knows and understands each others roles.

    The idea that a busy CEO can read 60 books a year is just ridiculous

    • @petescott
      @petescott  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Far from ridiculous actually. CEO's aren't paid for working more hours than anyone else. They're paid for making good decisions and good decisions comes from having a good state of mind. Equally, a CEO usually has far better time management than everyone else, because they understand the value of time. The only thing ridiculous is thinking CEO's are 'busier' than the receptionist.

      @@petescott Reading books and purposeful thinking fertilizes and grows the mind. An attitude of service for Customers and employees will get to the winners circle. I’d suggest if you cannot commit to reading 24 books in a year you should give up the dream of the top job.

    • @abdulbasitalsufyani1384
      @abdulbasitalsufyani1384 ปีที่แล้ว

      In principle I agree with you ... Reading 60 books a year means 5 books a month which is a difficult mission for a full-time management professor. BUT a reasonable number of SELECTED books is 4 - 10 books a year. The CEO agenda is extremally full and very complicated to spare much time for reading books although he / she has to.
      BUT selective and reasonable # of books a year will serve the purpose of getting developed and being updated. On the other hand, CEO needs to keep aware of market trends through reading financial reports, abstracts etc.
      THANKS
