Looks like a really simple baiter, how does it work out for you, have you ever counted the number of hooks baited from this system? And by the way, what kind of hooks are you using?
It doesn’t make a difference. Bait is bait. By hand or machine. But. Hand baiting is slow. You can bait up while you set with the machine. Plus you can overhaul the gear as it comes in while you haul. I see that you boat is quite small. So you don’t have room for work stations for working on gear. Hence the tub gear. But on a bigger factory longliner, auto baiting is the way to go. I’ve personally worked with Marco and Mustad both. I prefer Marco with #7 full circle hooks. Mustad use to use semi circle hooks. With a much higher drop off rate.
