There are plenty of fish in the ocean, what are you on about? Long line is a better method as there aren't as many unintentional fish caught, but unfortunately all methods are going to cause issues somehow. They're helping feed people, so🤷🏻♀️

My winter season we fished with rod for about twenty ton of bass. By catch was probably less that one percent, and that was either returned alive or eaten. The traditional fishing industry is now virtually non-existent because there are no fish to catch anymore. However, fish stocks are able to recover quite quickly where total bans on all commercial fishing are put in place. But it is the very recent global rise in sea temperature which will be the devastating factor .... there is no way that fish species can evolve quickly enough to survive the effects of warmer water.

It was a cod. Cod over 8 kg don’t fit in the freezer so they go in bags

I’ve worked in all kinds of commercial fisheries. No matter the method,the bycatch is appalling.
Rubbish Ive been jigging pollock for twenty years, not 1% by catch and we ate them.
