I’ve been watching you since you began TH-cam. I watch allot of anglers. You are the best out there in the Uk in my opinion. Your knowledge is unmatched. Great work mate.
Congratulations on being selected, and rightly so. Another great video. My wife and I I love your content and although she doesn’t fish, she absolutely loves that you take time out to explain where, why what and do so in detail. Sh also loves that you believe in sustainability and humane dispatch where necessary. Keep it going big fella. Awesome. Alberta, Canada. Ex Yorkshire!👍🎣
A very proud skipper and I'm really proud for you, it only reflects your dedication to the well-being of the fish you return the respect of the enviroment you show and the little things like the take 5 but a big impact and the big mindset. All without preaching it. Well done John. The video is not bad either 😉 ❤
Great watching you and Chris catching blue dogs. I find the blue sharks the most beautyfull of all the shark species one can catch on rod and reel. Also loved the screeming of the reel when the fish took off. So great to see you and yours back in "home" waters. Greetz from Stipo from Holland
Why would you want to catch blue sharks? Get in the water with them and snorkel if you want to see the sharks. Nobody gains anything out of catching and releasing an endangered species.
@@OllieGrigg you are barking up the wrong tree and completely wrong with your assessment of the value of a catch and release fishery. Most of the scientific data we have on sharks is from anglers fishing catch and release. And Blue Sharks are not an endangered species. Please educate yourself. 👍🏻🦈

Think it's time that TV production companies should be getting in contact with him. Tight lines all.
Watched your sharking/rig videos and decided to give it a crack this week. Went about 10NM offshore (my boat does about 6 knots so had to compromise a bit on the depth of water I could achieve). Had a slow drift (0.25-0.5knots) which wasn’t ideal. But after 3 hours wait one of the reels started screaming, then after a 30 minute fight my brother brought in a Blue of about 90lbs (his first double figure fish). We were both ecstatic. Then had a 2 1/2 hour steam against a force 4 back to the boats mooring, got in at 2215. Thank you for the help - a day to remember.
Cracking video John and Chris , amazing blues , love the anticipation of when the reel goes off as to how big the shark will be ! some amazing beasts way out in the ocean bud , appreciate your efforts 👍🏼👍🏼 Paul

Great video John, that blue on the sharks is stunning.. As usual I've got to say,,, the skies were beautiful , I was taking photos of the same clouds that day , unfortunately back home now. Keep up the good work,👍🏴😉
Glad you were selected John. Nobody else shows and explains what is being done and why like you. I have 2 questions to ask if I may. 1) You cut something on your line early in the video. What was it please. 2) You said you record the size etc. of the sharks on the card, but never saw you actually measure or weigh them, so is it with your experience that you can estimate their length and weight. Can't wait for the 'nightmare' video. Thanks, Barry from Essex
Yes I cut the float stop. And yes, the scientists have agreed that we have sufficient experience to be able to accurately estimate weight/size - when compared with the welfare of unhooking in the water or bringing aboard.
