I had not just a name but a phrase which read "J... is my love" in Japanese. I had researched the spelling a phrasing for months, got the design printed and brought it to my tattoo artist. I got it below an existing tattoo and it all matched together quite well. Then a little while later, J turned out to be a complete nutcase and I was, to say the least, a little uncomfortable having that phrase on my skin. LUCKILY I noticed that my artist had misspelled the name by missing a character! So I went back to him and we did some brainstorming, added a crane(the bird, not the JCB),which I was planning on getting anyway, next to the 'Love' symbol and we turned one of the symbols into a heart, and the other into extended feathers on the crane's head and now I love it!! So misspelling can be a blessing in disguise 😂
s storm I definitely got screwed over by a sibling tattoo because the sibling screwed me over. With that experience to refer to, I definitely wasn’t expecting your story to end like that lol
Doty is just too damn interesting. Imagine getting a tattoo by her. She breathes and you're chuckling. That'd be so bad, it would take so damn long to finish
That Irene story came on just as I was typing out this comment about my dad and made me lol.... My dad had only one tattoo of a red rose with my mum's name under. But the story behind it was that he had been engaged to a woman (turned out to be an awful person) before he ever met my mum and the tattoo was actually for her, but then they split up. Then he met mum and she just happened to have the same name. It was just coincidence that they fell in love. They were married within like 6 months and were married 50 years when he passed away. People would be all, "Aww, it's so sweet you have a tattoo like that for your wife", and dad would always go..."acccctually..." with this cheeky smile he never tired of telling people lol. Luckily mum found it funny too. I like to think it was some kind of fate. What was sad was that he had a number of chronic illnesses in the last 10 years of his life and had to have a fair few MRIs and something about the MRI scan strips the red ink from tattoos (not sure if it's the same with modern inks or if there is even a difference between inks from the 60s and now) so the rose was completely colourless in the end and the rest was quite faded out. I'm glad he never got it covered when he split from his first fiancee because even though it was a tattoo for someone else it was also a part of his & mum's love/life story too. There must be plenty of others out there who have been in that situation too. Lol.
I’ve had many, many MRIs, and never had an issue with any of my tattoos. But, it is only the warning sheet they give you that it can be a problem. So apparently some (especially some older) inks contain metallic particles, and because the MRI is just a massive magnet... The first MRI they told me to pay attention to my tattoos and if I felt like they were starting to heat up, to tell them immediately. But like I said, I’ve since had many (so many, and seriously, MRIs suck so much) and I haven’t had any issues (well, apart from my not so slight claustrophobia issue. That always makes MRIs fun!)
I wonder if the MRI moved metal particles in the ink and either dislodged them or broken them up so the body could remove them, basically what laser removal does.
My ex-husband got a huge, and terrible, portrait of my face done on his chest, while we were still trying to make our marriage work. So much worse than just getting a person's name...
Milwaukee Mayhem say your sister’ is dead. Easy enough. People get protestors of dead family members all the damn time. And like I said, if it’s just for a root, it’s easy enough to lie about it, they’re not gonna know.
I noticed his missing right arm after a minute.. then I went back to see his name, and that's when I saw his insta is "southpaw tattoos" 😏 I died... 😂 clever bastard.. 😂

I have my wife’s name on my forearm.... but I didn’t get it until after she passed away at the age of 32. Put our wedding date under it. I have several more tattoos surrounding it all really unplanned but somehow they all tie in.
I lost my daughter to cancer next month will be 3 years ago! Her name is Jessi , I asked her if I got a tattoo . What would she want it to be .. She said ... " jessi in a heart " I got jessi and it managed to frame a heart shape . She passed less then 12 hours later .. It was my last tattoo and I have 10.. I won't get anymore , bc nothing will be as meaningful as that ! And people always tell me, that's a beautiful tattoo . It's simple! Its beautiful to others.. but means absolutely the world to me !
Awe omg I'm so extremely sorry for your loss! No parent should ever outlive their child, I can't imagine that kind of pain. God bless you and your Jessi, may you 1 day find comfort in knowing that you will be reunited again.💞
I’m so sorry for your loss! Psychologically, losing a child is one of the most stressful things; I’m so sorry you had to go through that, but that’s such a sweet reminder
Parent and children names are really the only kind of name tattoos I think are acceptable. No matter what happens, they'll always be your parents or your kids.
That's what I thought until my mom disowned me for some reason I still don't understand. 3 yrs later her name's still here. I feel bad but i don't want to have it covered. 😭
When my mom was a teenager, she got dad's name tattooed on her and she named my oldest brother after him so she would have an excuse to never get it covered up, lol.
One of my dad's uncles had a similar name tattoo story. Back in the 40s, while in the army, he and the boys had a drunken night out. He woke up with the name Dorothy tattooed on him. He had no idea who this Dorothy was. But fortunately he did end up meeting and falling in love with a new Dorothy. So it all worked out.
The Irene story reminded me of the time when my mum was seven and she asked my grandpa why she was called Rowan, and, my grandpa, I'm front of my gran, said "Rowan was my ex fiancee." my gran was not aware of this and was unimpressed. Grandpa wasn't in the house for the next 4 weeks apparently.

I have an amazing tattoo that I got to remember my friend who passed away. I pretty much just told my artist to come up with a design that included purple flowers because purple was her favourite colour and she loved flowers. He did an amazing job. So I totally agree with what they were saying about getting a picture instead of words.
6:45 soooo true!!!! i am sure the person who the tattoo is for would also prefer that their loved ones remember times they were together, not the date of their death..
Are you saying that you shouldn’t stress about relationships, because you’ll be fine without a partner? Or are you not saying you shouldn’t stress about having having a mess of relationships behind you? Because if it’s the latter, yeah, that might not get in your way of your career, but maybe you should look inside yourself and see why either you’re cycling through women, or they’re cycling through you.
Some really fantastic advice/opinions on alternative paths instead of a name; I particularly love the idea of getting imagery tied to that person so it personifies the feelings you have for them while also keeping that private if you don't want to share it.
My mom actually followed this advice lmao. I don't think she got my dad's name tattooed (they're divorced) but she has tattoos for me and my sisters. Instead of our names, she has the insects they chose to represent us. A butterfly, ladybug, and dragonfly.
I have my grandfather's name tattooed on me, in memory because he died 2 weeks after he got his cancer diagnoses and I wasn't able to say goodbye. Was on the way to the airport when my mom got the call to say he passed away, it was 5am. Liver and lung cancer, not a drinker but he was a smoker. Poppies with a cats eye in one of the flowers [he loved cats] and his name, it's my most prized tattoo almost 2 years later. Miss him heap. He was an artist as well, so I've started doing more landscape work in memory of him.
Guy talks about how it’s shallow to get a name tattoo. *Me: looks at my friend who wants to get a name tattoo for his dad* My friend: “Looks like I’m just gonna get bars on my arm then.” Me: *bursts out laughing*
My mom and dad have each others names on them. Got them 3 years into marriage and just celebrated their 29th anniversary. I would never get a name but I think my folks got really lucky
I got two fir tree silhouettes (one for each sister) and the outline of the silhouette was the vocal vibrations of them saying I love you- a tribute to them, without the lettering
I have no tats but I love these!! The insider down low! 😂😆👍I laugh so hard at their funny unique stories! Great editing too btw 👌😎 The brunette beside the green haired artist is beautiful because I like the more natural look but they are so funny together!! The chemistry between all these co-workers / friends / partners is just so awesome to watch!! 👍 Good videos!
I just happened across this video, funny enough I used to serve one of these tattoo artists regularly at the Starbucks I used to work at lol I remember his order too, iced soy milk latte. Always a super nice dude. Crazy to see him here hope he’s doing well.
I got a sunflower tattoo when my Mum passed and the pink Floyd Wish you were here album cover for my Dad when he was gone .....I do smile every time I look at them 🙂
I've got my little brothers name and my moms name and they are some of my fav tats that I have. Buttttttttttt i did once get my ex gfs name and had to get it covered so I would say family is good but relationships are a huge huge no no
Joe the guy with all the tattoos over his body is super funny in this vid he's like the hell with it I'm getting my money idgaf. Bruh I'm weak as hell.lmfao 😂😂😂
I have my brother's name on the palm side of my fingers. Had to leave home at a young age, it's a constant reminder that when he's old enough to understand hopefully he'll reach out to do the same so I gotta work hard so I'm able to provide a better life for him than what was given to me
I’m getting a tattoo to represent my husband. It will be the flower of the month we got married in and part of our wedding song. I’m getting it done in March. I gave my artist the month and part of the song so he’s going to create something special. I love my husband and I’m a firm believer in no divorce BUT why risk it haha I don’t have names but I have my grandparents initials( in arrows) other then that no names for me lol
My kids names are all tattooed on me, and my husband and I have each other's names tattooed on our ring fingers. We got them done 7 years ago and we're still together. If we ever split, it's small and easy to cover.
That's about the only time I've ever seen a name tattoo be successful. People can suck and change constantly, even your kids unfortunately, but your animals are always great
I got a tattoo for an ex on my ribcage. It was a quote in french that says "More than my own life". Even though the relationship didn't work out, definitely don't regret it because It also applies to other loved ones in my life. I love hard and, usually, will care for others more than myself. I still love this tattoo and am hopefully adding some chill artwork to it later this month. Also got both of my grandmothers to write "I love you" in German and in Spanish, and I had their handwriting tattooed on my arm
My father died when I was 17 and I got a tattoo in memory of him. He was a Marine and talked about his time in the USMC a lot when I was growing up. I got the USMC Eagle Anchor Globe with "In Memory of Bradley Wilson Hay" and his birth and death date under it. I don't see it as a reminder as my father died on March 17th, which is also St. Patrick's day soooooooo around this day I'm reminded of my father's passing just by going to the store and seeing the St. Patrick's day stuff
I do not have a name, and this is the reason why! A picture can truly say a thousand words! My mom was very artistic so i got a memory tattoo of one of her drawings in my tattoo artists style. I love it so much! (Yesterday it was 7 years since we lost her)
My dad got a tattoo of my mamas name on his arm in a crappy little tattoo shop in Guam while training. It’s the only tattoo he ever got. Mama loves that tattoo and makes him show it off at every party. My parents have been together for 25 years and are going strong. Not the only time that they beat the odds with their marriage
Kelly Dotty is that coworker that makes you smile. That odd child in the class snappin one liners all day. That friend you wanna chill with every friday. Your friend that sends you perfect memes. Your bud that makes ya laugh. Kelly Dotty fuckin rad!
I never understood tattoos with someone's date of death on it. I totally agree with the whole statement of the guy at 6:45 (With the exception that I will never not want to talk about tattoos. I love it when people ask about mine)
I've been with my better half for 23 years now. On 21st anniversary we got tattoos. She got the locket with a chain I got the key with the chain. We put together we connect... so now anytime we want to connect with each other we just put our arms together.
@@Wolfgrand Fair enough. I suspect though that revenue is not a problem for the people involved and sponsorship from 3rd parties could see a steady income for all involved. I'm not looking for a fight on this, I respect your opinion. I also really admire the fact that you're in their corner. Good on you and best wishes.
I have my wife's name on me got it 6 years ago been together for 9 years don't regret it and never will we r truly soulmates so they're not all mistakes
I have all my memories, accomplishments, and loved ones tattooed in my heart. No need for me to express that on my skin. But I do tattoos as a side job. Is that weird ?
What name tattoo do you have? And do you regret it?
I have my name tattooed on my arm, and do not regret.
I have my sons name and I do not regret it :)

I have a no names no soccer team rule.
whenever Kelly Doty says something in one of these videos I crack up. LOL, she is the best person.
Like bacon she finds a way into our hearts.
I frikkin love her! I'd kill to get tattooed by her.
They are all great, but Kelly is like the girl you wanna hangout with specifically when you need to feel better!
Then Britt speaks and you let a long *sigh* because the good moment is over
I got my siblings names, thinking that I'll never regret it. Then one of my siblings grew up and is trans with a different name..... Dammit.
s storm that sucks
s storm don’t know why I laughed so hard
Lmfao I have my one of my siblings name and this just scared the shit outta me

Plot twist: became transgender after just to mess up that tattoo. Sibling rivalry to the fullest.

She should do a stand-up show. All of the stuff she says is comedic gold.

By the way you're talking I doubt you'd take long to finish at all
Seriously! I plan on getting tattooed by her at some point once covid restrictions lift and I feel like it’s going to be so much fun lol
I would love to get tattooed by her
I have to say she rubs me the wrong way and I find her highly annoying.

My thoughts exactly at that phrase. Lol

I have my kids names on me i did it as charm bracelets and have charms being added
Kelly Doty and Britt Whitman are my absolute FAVORITE Tattoo Artists. We need more videos with these two!!!
I have my childhood pets name.
She is a boat hahahaha
Legit almost cried laughing when I saw that. Idk why it was so funny to me
My father died when I was 17 and I got a tattoo in memory of him.
Haha. I have a homeboy who has his own name on he 3x lol
I do not have a name, and this is the reason why! A picture can truly say a thousand words! My mom was very artistic so i got a memory tattoo of one of her drawings in my tattoo artists style. I love it so much! (Yesterday it was 7 years since we lost her)
I had laser on my ex’s name yesterday 🙈
My dad got a tattoo of my mamas name on his arm in a crappy little tattoo shop in Guam while training. It’s the only tattoo he ever got. Mama loves that tattoo and makes him show it off at every party. My parents have been together for 25 years and are going strong. Not the only time that they beat the odds with their marriage
gian looks like oliver peck XD
Kelly Dotty is that coworker that makes you smile. That odd child in the class snappin one liners all day. That friend you wanna chill with every friday. Your friend that sends you perfect memes. Your bud that makes ya laugh. Kelly Dotty fuckin rad!
Lmao the censor person forgot to bleep out at 8:02
Creepy Jason is iconic yes girl wear your wizard hat 😂
I like the editing style, reminds me of UHNhhhh
I never understood tattoos with someone's date of death on it. I totally agree with the whole statement of the guy at 6:45 (With the exception that I will never not want to talk about tattoos. I love it when people ask about mine)
Even the dog was certain that's not how their names are spelled.
I've been with my better half for 23 years now. On 21st anniversary we got tattoos. She got the locket with a chain I got the key with the chain. We put together we connect... so now anytime we want to connect with each other we just put our arms together.
Wait. So a channel of rebels *bleeps* out swear words. That's depressing but OK, we've all got to make a living.
Well.. This is youtube rules and they want some money from ad revenue to continue the project?
Or are you gonna become the whole crew's sponsor?
@@Wolfgrand Fair enough. I suspect though that revenue is not a problem for the people involved and sponsorship from 3rd parties could see a steady income for all involved. I'm not looking for a fight on this, I respect your opinion. I also really admire the fact that you're in their corner. Good on you and best wishes.
Bacon usually makes its way into a heart! Ohhhhhhhhhh, Kelly, mine can't take it! That's gold!
I have my wife's name on me got it 6 years ago been together for 9 years don't regret it and never will we r truly soulmates so they're not all mistakes
I am 100% a fan of this goofier editing!!
I have all my memories, accomplishments, and loved ones tattooed in my heart. No need for me to express that on my skin. But I do tattoos as a side job. Is that weird ?
Thecowboy no
The folded $20 bill killed me 7:50
