BYD, That's what is springing back up in my yard this weather has been kind of crazy. But with your guidance everything will work out fine, Thanks my brother.
You’re absolutely right. It will pop back up when the weather changes. So I hit my lawn with another application of “Image Red Label” and my lawn is coming out of dormancy and looking great. Keep in mind guys you may have to apply more than one time due to all this rain. Thanks for the information BYD🔥🔥
I bet if we decided to have a yard completely of POA, we would have a yard completely of Bermuda. Sometimes you just can't win. I did the pre and post emergent like a boss, and my best lawn is underway it looks like. Got a tiny bit of Nutsedge, but will pound that out soon. Work, work, work.
☀Great video, BYD!! My front and back yard had no Poa, but I used Specticle Flo. Rest of the yard I used Dithiophyr granules and I was eat up by Poa, too. Don't get mama's measuring cup! 😂
I used that stuff over a month ago and I have to admit that I am pretty disappointed in it. I blanket sprayed my entire yard following the label correctly. I sprayed in the early spring when my grass was first coming out of dormancy like your lawn in this video. No signs of any poa dying and it’s definitely not allowing my grass to green up. My backyard that I didn’t spray is almost fully green and my front is far from looking like my back yard. Some of my grass is actually turning light green/yellow in my front from the stress image caused. Not sure what happened or what I did wrong…
After 2 weeks I start seeing it turned yellow. 4 weeks it was completely yellow and dead. I also saw resurgence because the weather was hot cold hot cold in Texas. Image product does work. You have to apply heavy. I mean very heavy.
Be careful blanket spraying it will stress the grass. Spot spray with some dye is ideal. I find in cooler weather, under 60 deg 3.5-4 oz per gallon works best. It def works better in warmer weather but can slow grass growth coming out of dormancy so finding that sweet spot window of warmer weather just as the lawn wants to wake up is good. It works slowly so you have to be patient.
@@peupeuguy310 after application, i wait 6 hours then water the grass so it gets into the roots. I would not mow for 3-5 days after that mow away the weed wont grow anyway. I like to mow before I spray.
@@PawleyWalnuts thanks for the comment. I used the hose end sprayer bottle. Not the one you mix in a sprayer. It says on the bottle if applied correctly, it will not damage the lawn. I followed the instructions. Maybe it will take a bit longer than it says to kill the poa but so far the poa hasn’t started yellowing up yet. It was in the 70s when I sprayed but I believe it says to spray in between 40-80 degrees.
You don’t have to pull but it will promote your lawn to spread faster if you do. They will die off and disappear with mowing. Ive pulled and then hit lawn with fert and a light top dress of 70% sand and 30% potting soil and granular humic acid to level the holes and boost the dirt. Not needed honestly as the grass will fight through. I just hated looking at the the dead yellow grass
BYD, how long after applying Image can I apply some Yard Mastery 7-0-20 Stress Blend? Thanks. Btw I'm up in NC and lawn is starting to come out of dormancy.
You don’t have to wait. Apply both same day then water lawn 48 hrs later. But mow 2-3 days before you apply then mow 2-4 days after w You water in products.
I did a hose end spray of spectrizide weed stop two weeks ago. But I have poa in parts of my lawn. How long do I have to wait before I can apply another hose end spray of image for POA?
Hey BYD great video but is POA the real hard weeds that has strong roots if u pulling them up this comes in Fescue also i use speed zone when its not above 85 degrees. I think POA is the worst and crabgrass right behind it!
Could you please take a sharpie and put your name on your measuring cups so Mrs BYD knows your not using hers. Thank you Mr BYD. Just trying to help you out.
The average homeowner is not going to do all that. I don’t make these videos to confuse or to be so technical. I literally read the directions on the product label and apply it and get results. When you start going down that rabbit 🐰 hole 🕳️ you’ll discourage people to D I Y. There’s other channels for that. We don’t make it hard or confuse the Home D I Y er.
Image for southern lawns is absolutely for Bermuda and zoysia. OPEN the label and READ IT! And for those who are just trying Image it treats the roots so water it in and be patient. 3-4 weeks the poa will die. Other broad leaf weeds much sooner.
How can I kill poa on my Bermuda I’ve looked for image red label but I live in California and they don’t sell it here or ship it you think you could maybe send me one?
@@SimpleMistaken I have no ideal how they do it in California. Check with your local extension office or you may have to call a service. Cali has that prop 69 so you guys can’t get much 🤷🏾♂️
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral it was the old one it was sprayed on and killed the whole thing. However I think there might have been a problem with the bottles meaning somebody might have returned them back to the store and maybe it had a different product in it. Because there was no seal on the bottles it was bought at a home Depot or items get returned a lot and there was only one home Depot out of five that even had that product.
I could listen to you talk all day. Calming voice
Thanks, my wife says I put her to sleep 😴 when talking to here, lol 😂

Thanks for the great advice and tips BYD.
Any time!

Good job, BYD !!!
Thanks!!
Thank you, BYD!
My pleasure!
I like hearing the kids in the background 🙂
Great video! Will give it a try, as POA is a PITA.
Lol 😂 PAIN IN THE ASS 😆
I am covered in poa this year. Gonna hit it with Image and left over Negate from last year.
Ok 👍🏾
I used the scotts triple action and got most of it. I am going back with the image.
Great info!
I am in SC and I am dealing with the some issue.
Yeah it’s happening to everyone it seems.

Very tuff 👍🏾
What product do you recommend for poa control in cool season grass? I have a fescue/kbg lawn, thanks!
I have no ideal about cool season
Great info! Thanks.
You’re welcome 😉
It’s the worst this year than I’ve ever seen it. I put down barricade in the fall and it’s like it did nothing. I’m in Georgia.

Im in Oregon and the POA is worse than ever this year. Should I try the Image hose end sprayer on my Poa? What do you think?
It’s the easiest way to apply it. Give it a try.
Great videos! What do you do with the poa once it's dead? I've got big dead clumps of poa that make the lawn bumpy. Do I pull them all out?
Me personally I just keep mowing and let them fade away but if it’s a problem you can pull them out but it may leave a tiny while there.
Thanks this was my question too.

BYD where do we buy Speedzone southern or Spectracide 470?
470 can be bought at lowes or HomeDepot even Walmart. Speed zone southern is very expensive on Amazon amzn.to/3AojLsC
I've tried the Ortho Nutsedge killer and it seems to supress the Poa but not kill it. I'll get some Image sedge killer next time. Thanks BYD.
Speedzone is an amazing product.
Yes 👍🏾
BYD is making an Herbicide smoothie mixing it all up.
Pretty much! Lol 😅9:45
POA is so hard to get rid of, made my Kentucky blue grass look white and it took over my lawn.
Yeah I hate POA.
Ya forgot to put the lid back on the Speed Zone!
Oops 😬
I did a hose end spray of spectrizide weed stop two weeks ago. But I have poa in parts of my lawn. How long do I have to wait before I can apply another hose end spray of image for POA?
You can’t wait, hook the hose end up and spray the POA only. Or you can wait until it gets hot and the POA will die off. I’d treat ASAP.
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I have tenacity also. Will that kill it?

Will do, momma don’t play that 😅
Dallis Grass is the worst! I have to paint roundup on it.
I swear my prodiamine didn’t do anything this year.
I’m starting to think POA has become Prodiamine resistant lol 😆

Image is a waste.. for POA you need to use Dithiopyr AKA Dimension
Those products don’t kill POA, those are Pre Emergent. Use them both, this is a really bad season with this crazy weather.
