I live in Hilo I get it you definitely gota like the rain haha. I’ve been big boat fishing my whole life but just recently got a kayak let me know if you ever want to hit it up 🤙always good to have some buddy’s in the water
Wow what a day! Been fishing almost weekly here on the "Mainland" catching lingcod and always hoping to get lucky with a halibut. I must say the water in Hawaii is so much cleaner than what I'm fishing in...
nice day nice catch I am planning a trip out there next year have been following the out there for a few months is this year windier than last year just trying to figure out when to go would like to fish hoping for April or May
Thanks! I do feel like the wind this year has been worse than usual. Typically the N and E side of Big Island the weather is pretty unpredictable anyway. I think May had a better chance of not being totally rained out.
💥💥💥 A dream Day, thanks for sharing 👍, some questions, you are using 44 pounds cable wire ? And do you drift With the opelu or Keep mooving/paddling ? Please
Most definitely thanks 🤙🤙🤙 I bought a 3 lb roll of the 44 lb brown single strand stainless wire so I think I'll be using it forever yeah. With the wire I usually drift if the current is strong, but troll at like 2 mph if there's not much current. When using flurocarbon I always drift and only troll when setting up another drift.
Great day! Super fortunate with that ono! Sometimes Lady Luck smiles down on you 🤙🏼

We need to invent a reel with loud screaming drag but quiet when reeling in.
lol I agree entirely!
Your drag is too loose no good sounds like 80 pounder ?😂😂😂 I fished a 125 lbs sturgeon quietly reeling in 😂😂😂😂
Tight drag = pulled hooks 😂😂😂😂😂 (YFT can swim at 46 MPH. Sturgeon can swim 1.5 - 6 MPH for reference)
