Nice video. Love the 22 Hornet. In sweden it has a special place for many hunters.
We have a classification system here, 1-4. Where 1 is the largest couple animals (moose, bear, deer but not roe, wolf and pigs).
Hornet is classed as nr 3 on this list, it lets us hunt capercaile, black grouse, fox and smaller animals. It also allows us to bring the rifle on motorized vehicles like snow mobiles in certain regions. Transporting guns in off-road vehicles is not legal in most cases.
Anyway, there is only a couple rifles that goes in this class - min bullet weight of 39 grains (2.5 grams) and 200J energy @ meters.
Calibers other then 22H is the 22 WMR, 9x19, 204 ruger (if you cant stabilize 40 grain).
Class 2 is 50 grain and 800J @ 100 meters, 222 for instance and all calibers up to 243 - the class 1 designation is min bullet weight of 140 grains/2700j so that excludes all calibers under 6.5mm.
Also the 22H is widely used in germany and some other europan countries as a target round, most of the ammuntion is made by RWS.

I absolutely love 22 Hornet. I reload it, and hunt with it on a regular basis. Much of my channel is devoted to 22 Hornet. Thats a beautiful rifle you have there. I’m happy to see people enjoying such an amazing caliber.

    Holy Freakin' Muppet Poop!!!
This is THE ONLY video I've ever been able to find on TH-cam for 22-hornets!!
It's such an interesting round. Comparable in so many ways to the 5.56x45mm except about half the mass and so the bullet has about half the energy. But I think that also means that it has a flatter trajectory than the 5.56 and a farther effective range. I'd LOVE to see people use it in tests where they start with a 22LR, then work their way to a .50BMG! I'd love to see the 22-Hornet come in after the 22LR, or after the 22-magnum, if used.

Love me some 22 Hornet! Forty grain plastic tipped boolits @ 3000-3100 fps turns it into a 300 yard prairie-dogger.

Hand loading is nearly mandatory with a .22H. I neck size only without the hornet. 40 vmax on LilGun with a small pistol primer for 2900 fps and excellent case life

Beautiful rifle. I have a CZ527, but would like to have a model 70, pre-64.

I have the exact same rifle in my closet. Belonged to my Grandfather. Serial number lookup says it was manufactured sometime in the early 1950’s. Solid rifle…
