Uhh I was stationed in Okinawa for 4 years and I miss it so much. My best friend (now husband) and I at the time would always go to Naha and look at all the shops and restaurants 🤩😍 can't wait to go back again !!!!
Oh my god, your channel name! Oh how I looooooong to do just that. :( I miss Japan so much and can't wait to return. Thank you for your videos. I love to find cool new things to add to my travel itinerary planning and the helpful practical information is very much appreciated. :) Thumbs up.
Very interesting video. The monorail must be fairly new. I was stationed there from 1990-92 and I don’t remember it. Probably the best time to visit is when there is the giant tug-o-war festivities.
Can't wait to see more of your tropical adventures, it's exactly what I need rn. Beaches and flower prints, coconuts and cocktails, flip flops and beach bags...
Glad you like it! I do need to beach-print-up my wardrobe a little and still had no cocktail (shame on me, right?), but sure there is still plenty of time 🌺🌴🍍🍹
hahaha when i went, i used to HATE that the only little central beach in naha had a dang road right thru it, but now its just amusing to see it again after such a long time hahaha
Yeah, I get that! I think if you are looking for the white sandy beaches than this is definitely not it. But still, if you are in Naha and you do want to go and hang out it is a cool place. I will have some more videos with beaches, however, the weather has been a bit ma-ma- so we will see 😜
There is a huge expat community on the main Island, where Naha is, because of the US bases. To be honest, I did not really look for it, as I wanted to experience Okinawa, but almost everyone speaks some English (more than anywhere else I have been in Japan).
Thank you for sharing this amazing video with us. It is really useful for me. Next week, I will visit the Naha. I am wondering, how is the weather there and it is cold to swim in the sea now? And during the day, do you see many people in the street? Thank you so much.
Hi Kohei, glad it was useful for you! About your questions: It is still a bit cold and quite windy (about 23C), the water also is a bit fresh, but once your inside its ok. There are almost no people here. It is REALLY quiet. The Restaurants are closing around 9pm (I believe), but the good thing is there are many places that have outdoor seating and again you will only have locals visiting them... Feel free to ask more, I am happy to help 😉
@@LetsTravelandEat Yes. Makishi market looks almost 100%. I should definitely visit there in real life as soon as Covid 19 is over. Thanks for your video!
It is ok to travel to from Japan, but from outside I don't think so (best to check on the Japanese Government Website, as it is updated regularly and entry restrictions depend on the country you travel from).
Eating potatoes whole life I find it so odd that they do ice creams from potatoes That's least taste that comes to my mind for an ice cream Onigiri I will have to try to make at home, looks simple
The culture on Okinawa is vastly different as their roots are from Ryukyu culture and not Japanese. The beach featured is the worst beach on the island.

OH wow, 4 years is a long time! I "only: stayed 1 month and already miss it too 😅
Nice video , thanks , best regards from Germany .
Glad you liked it! :)
2年前に働いたことがある私は この動画を見て 沖縄のことを思い出します。ありがとうございます。
ありがとうございます! 💚
I was born in Naha in 1964 and would love to visit my birth place some day. Thanks for a little peek into the Naha scenery!!
Oh, I am glad I could show you a little bit of the city and hope you can return for a visit some day 💚

Nice! I definitely agree with you on the clean and I loved it as its so close to the city :)

Iam proud of being Okinawan!
Gosh, I wish I could take a vacation there.
I hope you get to go someday!!!🤞
Everything has changed so much since I lived there in the 70’s. Thanks for the interesting videos. Have you ever been to Moon Beach?
No, I haven't yet, thanks for the tip!
How big is the expat community in Naha?

Hi! I’m new with your channel and it was great to see Okinawa again since last 2015 ,2016 .
Hi, thanks for your comment! Did you have a favourite place when you were here?
Just found your video. Thank you very much. Do people speak English in Naha?
Hey! Although official language is of course Japanese, a lot of people can speak english :)
It’s fascinating to look at the seaside that has roadways in it.. looks so cool
Yes its interesting isn't it? I guess they just did not want to give up the beach, so that was a compromise 😹
I was there when I played Yakuza3 as Kiryu Kazuma.
That's cool! Does it look similar at all?
@@LetsTravelandEat Yes. Makishi market looks almost 100%. I should definitely visit there in real life as soon as Covid 19 is over.

@@uchihamoon943 That's so awesome! I hope you get to see it for yourself, I guess it will be a lot busier though :p
How far from the Makishi Market to the main street ?
It actually starts from the main street and you can walk inside the market from one side to the other in 20min :)
aaaah u went to shuri castle!!
I did! It was nice, but I can see how some people could be a little disappointed if they make their way out and then its mainly just the grounds...
Hiiii from Japan 🇯🇵 😍

kind of near malaysia😲
It really did not feel like Japan at times :)
@@LetsTravelandEat My favorite place to go is Japan Tokyo.❤️
If you walk a little bit from that beach you will find an orphanage run by a very cool man... Just don't make him angry
Oh, I did not know. Thanks for sharing 👍

It is really delicious as it is made from "sweet potato", if you have a chance please try it :)
The culture on Okinawa is vastly different as their roots are from Ryukyu culture and not Japanese.

Thank you for your comment! You are right, the Ryukyu culture is a huge influence 👍
I think that "beach" gave me depression.
Many people don't realise the the closest beach in Naha looks like this, which is not what you would imagine for Okinawa (it is still fun thought) 😆
