Old and stiff my ass bro...I love my i230s BTW; 16 HCP. I'm 2 years back after a 25+ year break, and I find them to be very nice irons. I play 4-U, no hybrids. I also replaced my 3W with a icrossover 2i and love that thing. My only "wood" in the bag is a 430 max 5w set to 4w loft.
I could see that. Even as someone who plays blades a lot, I like the benefits of more camber, prewear, softer leading edge. It's more versatile and forgiving.
Would like to see a direct comparison between Mizuno MP-20 MMC and I230 seeing that I game the MMC. I’ll get a chance in the spring when we get our fitting head at the course just with different shafts. Think there will be much in it?
Did a bit of a 223 vs i230 comparison in my first i230 video th-cam.com/video/3wsd7eLjVZU/w-d-xo.html I liked the MMCs but people thought they lacked a little pop. So yeah, there might be a little in it.
Someone asked me this earlier. I think they're pretty different. I mean they look and feel great great, but they're more similar to 770 than i230. They're 770 on steroids, with better feel. 225 are more often compared to P790 than a more players type iron.
A lot of them are throughout the 130s now. About that same range I hit I think. Have to remember I would bend these a little weaker, as would a lot of pros. They definitely give good speed across a variety of strikes though, which is great.
@@oldandstiff Yeah, I just want to know what loft for that 195/196 carry distance. Since they have the Power and Retro spec too like you mentioned. I still use a 34 loft for my 7 iron.

So people that want to play weaker get less offset, and people that want to take them strong don't get a ton. I've always thought it's a good middle ground. Most guys that want weaker lofts don't like much offset anyway.
P770 is definitely a bit of a higher pitch. I think your spot on with 'sharper'. I'm with you on the sound preference of i230 sounds more 'solid'.

I’ve tested the P770, but found the leading edge digs too much. Preferred the i525; i230 or Mizuno 223’s; T100/100-S

I’m waiting to see the Cobra and the JPX Forged. (I hate hollow irons so that eliminates a few)
I'm really curious about how the Cobras will match up in a bunch of ways, because the MIMs looked pretty good over the ball.

140 ball speed with a 7i. Wow! I think the PGA Tour average is around 120.

33 standard for both. i230 power spec is 31.5 and retro, where I would play these, is 35.
