Sometimes life gives you lemons, and then... well, then you just have a pile of lemons. That's what happened with this video. I found a bunch of lemons. No water. No sugar. Just lemons.
I was recording the other day and decided to pull this one out from my long list of "songs I wrote, forgot about, and haven't played in years."
I did a practice take on camera and was pretty happy with the overall sound, but needed to adjust my shot. When I stood up to move the camera, I unplugged my guitar from my recording interface.
I forgot to plug my guitar back in when I sat down and hit record.
Yep. Let me say that again. I forgot to plug my guitar in. If you watch the video, you can clearly see there is no cable there.
So instead of scrapping the whole project, I just decided to layer additional guitar tracks on top of the vocals. That's like... the opposite of good recording technique, but remember that we're dealing with lemons here. And hell, I threw in a bass track and about 5 seconds of lead guitar too.
