Love this, my wife and I are trying to come up with way to adapt our boat for my 5 year old daughter who is non-verbal, non-mobile, and already at 50 pounds she is growing like a weed. I think this hoist would definitely be beneficial to us with her in the future. She loves the water and boating more than I do and I want her to be able to enjoy boating just like your son. From one dad to another You Rock!!

The infrastructure of roads and sidewalks as well as the infrastructure of waterside recreational spaces for people with disabilities is very important. Thanks for this video I'm 62 I've been man handling my son all his life fishing hunting this video was very helpful for me-the strap you hooked on back of boat was the ticket-I knew I needed to start using a lift but was worried about that 400lb wheelchair plus he's 140lb listing the boat-I've Been man handling him for 32 years but getting harder for me and not safe Thanks

I need pricing and what would be needed to modify an existing dive boat. The permit process for a new boat is lengthy and we need something that will work until we can get a boat specifically designed for the handicapped.

nice invention BUT what happens if or when the boat has a leak or somehow gets flipped and your son is on the boat in his wheelchair? i am also disabled, i would never ever bring my wheelchair on a boat. especially an electric chair.
my thoughts..... why would you possibly leave the lift pieces so close to the edge of the dock.... so what happens when they inadvertently get dumped in the water while you're out and about fishing? What's your plan 'B' if there's a boating emergency to get him up and out of the boat safely either in his chair or out? wonderful that he gets out to enjoy life and the water, however what are the safety precautions... blew my mind you'd leave the pieces so close to the edge of the dock after you took off... I'm a mom of twins in chairs so I know the precautions that have to be taken in to account .
Nancy, As a United States Coast Guard captain for Catalina Classic Cruises and Catalina Express we sailed up to 500 children at a time (across 26 miles of the Pacific Ocean) from San Pedro to Catalina Island. Safety was always our first priority and concern to make sure everyone had a fun day!
Your heart to the right spot. But that thing is nowhere near practical. Those are anchor points on that chair not lifting points. Big difference. Good luck
LOL!!! What an unnecessary waste just get the quad in a nice cushy fishing chair with a high back and arm rests like the one on the boat already for the driver that can swivel and better yet can swivel electrically controlled by a joystick so a quad can turn different directions. You don't need the electric wheelchair in the boat. A typical bass boat with a nice cushy seat on the bow would be a much better set up.

Wouldn't it be a little easier to have the lift bolted to the dock rather than the boat. It was left there anyway. Still a wonderful product.
