But real DJ"S en underground died some years ago along the popularity of ''techno''. Rene Wise, Blue Hour, Manuel de Martino, are good but overall they cant touch dj's like joris voorn, jeff mills, ben sims, luke slater because they come from real dj culture.
Vinyl sets like this one are rare in TH-cam. A real gem to see one of my favourite artists mixing using there turntables. Quite more difficult than using CDJs and software. Only ears and hands.
This is how I love to see DJing ! I started off with 2 belt drive decks & really basic numark mixer. Listening to 2 records at once to determine pitch and beat sync . That feeling of taking a record out of the sleeve and slapping on the deck 😊. Love this !
12.24 as one of the tracks starts to marginally "misbehave". Joris gives it a little slap back into line and on we go. The class here of managing 3 decks of vinyl and the EQs of each channel to construct the groove. Amazing.
I still like this style the best. Thanks for being my personal trainer by making me dance 4 hours no stop a week every thursday at Basic Grooves back in the days. And also a shout out to Edwin Oosterwal.

I look for sets like this on TH-cam all the time, and never actually find them. I have nearly all of these records and used to play them just like @Joris Voorn does here. It's so good to hear all of these tracks again ripped through three decks. Nice work !!!
Straight back in my first years of djing, from 96, what a great years this king of techno, unfortunatly when i moved to ibiza in 2010, i sold all my 5000+ vinyls.... pretty emotional to listen again this kind of tracks, you didnt miss your techno vinyl skills of those years man, push on your channel a new one ;-) cheers
Techno from its pinnacle era (until 2003/2004). Organic sound, a driving rhythm and hard grooves! And tracks had to be good enough to be worth a vinyl pressing, a quality filter that is widely missing nowadays.
It’s all subjective really, there’s still loads of good techno music gets released today if you know what labels to look at. This mix is the era when I was just getting into techno and there was a fair amount of bland music getting released even back then as well.
@@thugtrippin of course there have always been trash records but it's absolutely NO comparison to the vast amount of digital trash there is today. Consider there are tens of thousands digital releases every week. Most producers don't care finishing their tracks anymore, that's why.

Amazing mix, i feel since the additon of the digital dj era we have become sensitized to anyhting which is not perfectly quantized, i find it so refreshing to hear a mix with slight imperfections makes it feel human, i hope this makes sense!
What a wizard, if you actually youtube "Joris Voorn Japan 2005", you will see him playing there the same style of techno with the same flow almost 17 years ago which is pretty crazy if you think about it, a true pioneer.

These records are as great, as much I loved Joris those times. I follow him less recently as I do not find him unique anymore, but I always remain grateful for his talent and tracks he has added to the techno era in the late 90's, early 2000s.

That's what I thought going through the tracklist. Most of my records came pretty cheap from Discogs because there were SO MANY hardgroove records that came out back in the day that they're easy to find but still SO SO GOOD. A lot of newer techno got me in to the style but this is the stuff that keeps me here. (I'm 40 years old but got in to it WAY late)

This is what a techno set should be. Punchy, danceable, tasteful, well mixed. Just pure enjoyment from start to finish.
Superb layering of sounds. This is why clubs were so good before the digital overkill.
