    See. The complexity of making magic music in the early days made the music tend to feel minimal. But at the same time the minimal feel was huge on dance floor as it allows the dancer to move and travel between the beets and sounds . With all the new easy to use software and people layering more and more into a track has killed some of the magic of getting close and dancing in the beats....

    • @kristianburghard1955
      @kristianburghard1955 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I get what you say, but if the 'music from easy to use software with much layers' doesn't make you dance, I promise you there's still so much new music out there you can still dance to. Even tracks made with the easy to use software :)

    • @CineTechGeek
      @CineTechGeek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@kristianburghard1955 as a very long time listener to dance focused music over the years. And being a DJ for about 12 year until my ears have out.. I do agree more busy tracks can also be good. More busy tracks also lasted back then but not as much due to it being more difficult to make. But really the classic timeless tracks tend to be the more minimal ones. Today it's to easy and so too easy to go to far. And considering more of this music is made them ever, I find it harder and harder listening to new releases to find tracks of quality. It's becoming all a MacDonald's factory.
      However there are tracks now that the complexity is amazing and only possible with these new tools. Masterpieces of creation but not always super popular.

    • @kristianburghard1955
      @kristianburghard1955 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CineTechGeek yeah being able to transfer a certain feeling or message through minimalistic music is definitely an art on its own. Though I think it's not necessarily about how it's made, be it the easy way or the hard way (whatever that may mean), quality of the music comes from the artists, not his gear. There's absolutely more generic music nowadays because the entry level is lower than what it used to be I think

    Great selection and so good to see (& hear) the imperfections too. This is a real DJ, the way it always used to be... hearing a tune drift, crackles on records, turntables not being totally accurate and depending on your ears to match beats rather, than a BPM counter or sync button... Raw, so lovely to watch & hear 😀

    • @cornpit77
      @cornpit77 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The imperfection is in the ads playing during a mix. Can live with one at the start or end but not during a mix, or piece of classical musicfor instance while streaming on my high-end hifi set. Such imperfections are just sloppy and greedy.

      @@ignitiondj4025 remembered seeing Joris Voorn playing at exit festival , the same DJ as is in the video , that is all . He was very good , he had long hair at the time and flicked it alot as it was getting in his eyes . Also he was using a tablet/iPad type device alongside his cdjs to play the music and he was waving it around at the huge crowd . As I said , great memories .
