I remember back in the day, how excited me and my pals were that we got a bootleg VHS video of a Metallica concert. The video and audio were crap but we were so happy and saw it hundreds of times. Now you can watch many of their concerts with good quality on TH-cam. How times have changed.
@Primassic my point is that I'm at a concert and wanting to mosh, people around me getting the shits because I'm bumping into them while they are trying to use their phones.... If you want to film get out of the mosh pit
Man…the phones, cameras and lights in his face. I’m an old fan since the mid late 80’s and miss the days of fist pumping, head banging, and having a fucking good sweaty time. Now everyone looks like technological zombies. 📱😮 Metallica sounds fantastic🤘🏻
Sad to everyone on their smartphones. I might get a few 20 seconds clips on video of a 2hr set. But if I was in front Metallica like that .....I would banging my head off!! Especially Fn Battery!
@@Godless-Being When I saw them in Chicago it was mostly Gen X that was on their phones, also the pit tickets are over $1,000 most Gen Z won't pay that much for a ticket
To all the Metallica family. It's been a journey from the first song I heard "Ride The Lightning" 84 to 2024. I have seen The four horsemen 8 times in Canada. Puppets was first and most recent last year. They are awesome. For all those my age, 50s, the 80s was best I am sure you will agree. Vicious aggression just lethal. Them and Slayer were lunacy. Tallica still kicking ass. Everyone should see the lads once before they pack it in.
Jesus now I kinda wish I came out to see them......their set list for both nights were so good 🤘🤘🤘already saw them back in 2018 and 2016 both of the shows were my favorite
The last time I was there was in 2016 with my dad, unfortunately we left after memory remains(he wanted to cuz was late😢) so I never really got to see Metallica live like in full 😔 . It’s unfortunate. I didn’t have enough money to go to this one especially seeing pantera FFDP as well. Thank you for this video. Hopefully one day I will have the money if they come back to the cities. Did you record any openers by any chance or just metallica?
@@Maddog_56I was 24 (turning 33 this December). And yeah, I hope I get to go again whenever I get the money because that’s my plan. It just sucks I didn’t have it at the time.
Because it goes from acoustic guitar strait to Kirk and James both on electric. They would probably need to have three guitar players because it would be pretty much impossible to switch from acoustic to electric that quick. I don't think they ever played the intro live.
Yeah they start battery with a recording, same with blackened and fight fire with fire. Some other songs have original recordings to introduce them too like day that never comes and recently Orion
I still say Duracell /eveready dropped the ball when they didn’t team up with them back in the 80s lol Music is the universal. Knows no race color , sexual orientation, creed. It unites us like nothing else does. Prince taught me that.🎤🎤🎤
It's a sad day when people in the crowd is more worried about recording a video that they will only watch a cpl times, rather then just moshing and enjoying the moment !!! I'm a minnesotan and I'm embarrassed!!!
I only recorded cause I know damn well I will watch it literally all the time but while recording I was mainly watching them I was also in Chicago first two concerts ever
Unfortunately it's like that now pretty much the world over... So annoying considering if you have ever read many a Metallica interview where they say they feed off of the crowd energy and give it back... 😢
Wish more bands would do what Tool does & ban cell phones for all of the concert except the last song, so you can get your token crummy "see I was there!!" camera phone footage for social media and then focus on enjoying the actual rest of the concert...
I wonder why at all concerts they always play the soundtrack of this song first? Metallica doesn't play the intro itself! I'm upset and disappointed. This is some kind of crap, a scam.
He's a 60 year old man doing something most 20 year olds couldn't dream of for doing 2 hours straight and gained huge love and support of millions (probably billions) of people across the world for 40 years. Sorry but your comment is catastrophically weak in comparison to his life. But everyone is entitled to their opinion . (even if its a lame opinion)
@@willlycos5781 Huge fan of the band. First concert ever for me was Metallica in 1998. Have some respect for Lars but seems like he was only average at best then never evolved or got better. Everybody knows he’s the weak link of the band. Maybe I’ve just been listening to Danny Carey or John Bonham too much lately
This was the highlight of my life. I broke my neck, gave myself whiplash and vertigo and several concussions from headbanging.
Was that why there was an ambulance outside? Lol
Congrats(not literally) I guess that’s the last youre headbanging. Time to sue em lol
That's the only way to rock and roll!
Smelled like weed everywhere

Same here
For good and bad, seems like most people are more worried about their phones than moshing and crowd surfing.

3:23 Glad they play this part in this tour
When this song hit, it just sent a huge shock wave of energy through the whole stadium.
That is so true. The second the acoustic guitar part started I knew things were about to go down.

OMG This is insanely good... Thanks for the recording!!🤘
This was so badass i'm so glad they played this here 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I so happy as well, they rarely play battery and it was awesome
Never thought I'd get to see this song live. So thankful they modified the setlist to get this in. We needed some Master of Puppets representation
i wanted to see it in chicago but they never played it🥲
Awesome! We got Blackened instead in Chicago. It’s cool they’re switching it up in different cities. Great video 🤘🔥
We got both 🙂
When James is playing in front of the snake pit, you can see me right behind his right leg!
My 1st metallica song i heard in 86.
you heard Battery in 86?
the year it was released. Thanks to columbia house tapes. I'll never forget that day. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wowww, James, the older the better❤❤❤
Just listening to METALLICA
relieves stress. Jamming to Metallica is that much better. I have yet to attend a METALLICA concert; guaranteed Whiplash!

@AngelHalo5 100% agree, they are mostly fulltime students or work 20 hrs a week part-time at a Jimmy John's
Only reason I took advantage of recording was because I paid 700 for a seat 😢
@hankhill2103 I mean I would some videos but during Battery, I would go ape shit!
Excellent video I was there and it was like I was there again thank you

KILLIN IT!!! THANK YOU ERYNN!! 54 here, this is my blood.
Amazing!!! James is unstoppable
I’m mad they didn’t play this in Chicago 🙄. when I saw them in 2017 they played it and it was fucking brutal 🤘
Can’t always have nice things 😂
Ya, fight fire with fire was just ok imo. (This was the same slot as that song) that show was amazing tho
This was the only song in Chicago that I expected them to play that they didn’t. Both nights were still incredible though
@@Arj1209 I think they played tighter on night 2

Going to see them in Edmonton Alberta Canada tomorrow night. Can't wait!
