I love how the one venue security guy was digging it but trying to look professional and serious. Awesome show, hoping they will do an outdoor venue somewhere here in the near-ish future.
Metallica is best served live. Always awesome. Every show kills. I am old guard. First time I saw them was Puppets Tour 86 in Montreal. Seen them 8 times now and they are still the metal militia. Nice to see it spans generations during a time where many say rock or metal is dead. What's good is good. Glad I grew up when I did. They are legends.
Like you, I saw them in 86 at the Orpheum with Cliff. It was life-changing. Sundays show was my 17th and I was very impressed with the energy both nights for guys that are six years older than me. They can still kick ass. And yes, we grew up in the greatest era ever No cell phones thank God.
Couldn't say better!!!.........Not gonna lie though I miss the eighties when I was young, they were young and full of FIRE, PISS, AND VINEGAR🤣, Those concerts were ELECTRIC and couldn't hear the next day in English class cause ears were still bleeding 😂😂😂😂🤘🤘
James jamming out puffing his cigar and surveying the crowd….he’s truly the man! I was at both nights and had an unforgettable absolutely mind blowing time
Watching James here while Im half way through a joint has me back in memory. Old school fans will relate.... I remember being 12, 13 yrs old with my room covered in Metallica pictures and posters collected from metal mags. James and Cliff were almost scary in some pics and posters that I had. I remember wondering what happened for them to be making those faces LOL. The metal magazines were awesome. We waited every month for a new one for the pictures, a poster, news, information and interviews. Circus, Hit Parader, Metal Edge, Kerrang, RIP and others. I forget which magazine it was at the time but its how my buddy and I first heard about Cliff and the accident. I didnt listen to the radio, there was no same day news about Metallica back then. My point... in memory.... those were some of the best times of my life so far. Im over 50 now and still a die hard, like it was planted within because I was young when I first got into music and Metallica. Good times.. I have to relight my joint now and finish er off. Peace.
lmao!! yer a poser dude. all u did was google all yer info becuz just about every thrash fan true fans hate modern metallica. they died for sum after master and the second wave fans died in justice😂😂
Awesome memory recount. I bought every one of those magazines at the same ages for years to get any article, small picture like an 8x10 or special larger one. I still have most of them. 1 pager, 2 pager, 4 pager and the holy grail 8 pager. This was in a small Canadian town of 2000 people. Cool to know there were others doing the same.
Tbh I tell people it’s the worst concert venue probably in the United States. If you sent close to the stage all you get is boom/echo flat out terrible acoustics.
@blake350z….funny you say this as I thought the acoustics were terrible and we were sitting in section 214. And while it was our first time seeing a show here , we saw the Detroit show last year at Ford Field and it just sounded much better, for every band that played the weekend. Nevertheless though we had a good time, it was fuckin Metallica !
So bummed I had to miss this run… but MAN! Metallica live, nothing like it, and I’m happy to have experienced it several times. I’ll catch em next time. Also love that even though they’re “promoting” the new album…. “Fuck it, let’s open with Whiplash!” Their setlists NEVER disappoint
I love them. They are so precious and bad ass at the same time. And I guarantee you that security has a longer playlist now. That’s how I extended my playlist working at an arena.
I have to get on board with this and say that even though I have never been to a concert or met them, James in particular has had such an impact on me and my life. His ability to have been open about his struggles and his vulnerable attitude along with my favorite song, BLEEDING ME!!! He is a hero icon and legendary human all rolled in to 1

Well stated. I'm another old fan who started listening to them in the mid 80's. Metallica is ingrained in who I am as a person and this band will never know the impact that it has had on my life. I served on Active duty for 25 years and their music got me through many long and difficult deployments. They're almost an extension of my family in some strange way. I'm in my mid 50's now and saw them in Foxborough a few weeks ago. James made a comment that they do this shit for us! Well, James we appreciate you and what Metallica has been doing for 4 decades now and in return we the fans show up for you! It would be cool if they read any of these comments. By the way I thought this was the best they've ever sounded live. You can tell they're all taking good care of themselves and making the right choices. Metallica is fucking amazing! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@jamess3532Respect your service and I thank you deeply for it. But if this is the best they ever sounded to you then you must not have seen them play for the first ten years of their career. Either way. All respect to you for your sacrifice and your served duty.
@@djshad1885 That's funny. Until the 72 seasons tour the very last time I saw Metallica was in 1989 during their AJFA tour with Queensryche backing them up. prior to that was with them backing Ozzy during the M.O.P. tour. They were amazing back then which is what got me into them. I thought they sounded better than ever and I stand by that comment.
I love watching this guy prep before going on stage, he has the same routine as always; takes a few puffs out of a cigar (nicotine calm), puts some hand sanitizer on, get pumped to the background music, pumps the crowd up a bit.
Papa Het gave my (then) 9 yo son a fist bump upon exiting at the St Louis concert last November. I just wish we had caught a photo. Such a kind guy, as I know he must have been exhausted at the end of the two night series. Considering going for a repeat in 2025; it was so good!!! ❤❤
Amazing to see Metallicas impact after all these years..Followed them since 1984 first saw them live in September 86 at Newcastle Mayfair with Anthrax a week before the tragic accident and 6 times since. The first ticket cost was 5 quid!!. Cheers for posting and look forward to seeing them live again soon
I was there for both nights. Listen, if you’re a fan of Metallica and you haven’t seen them in a live show yet, you’re missing out. You haven’t seen nothin yet!
Three years before these concerts I could not walk…RA ravished my knees. I got them replaced. Three years later…Four rows from the stage, GA, both shows. Yes, I paid for it for a week…But standing for hours to see one of my fav bands play live is up there with having my kids as one of my proudest moments. It was unbelievable.
Old school here, I've been listening to Metallica since I was a kid and man I love them, if something happens to one of them I'm going to cry my eyes out. 🤙💪😎

If I went to see them today for nostalgia, expecting to hear a bunch of new stuff i don't know and they opened with Whiplash I think I'd have a heart attack
I saw them on 2022 at the hard rock. It was a tribute concert to the zazula family who signed them to their first record deal. They only played songs off of KIA and RTL. even played breadfan and am I evil.
Yeah I agree man i wonder if when he plays shows like this and looks at the crowds if he just remembers how big of a band they were and still are a lot of partying and he’s still alive same with Phil anselmo from pantera a lot of heroin that guy did and to still be here is a miracle because it’s a miracle for us ex heroin addicts to still be here 20 years of Iv heroin use for me now proud to say 31 months sober living in the twin cities and at peace I can finally just chill work come home and know I’m still here living

I can assume neither of these guys knows Metallica, but the guy on the left is getting pulled in by the crowd participation.
Why you say that they probably don't know Metallica? Cuz they're black? Cuz i agree@@josephthornton8560

Old live Metallica is some of the best music on earth. I wish I could say the same about their newer stuff, but I just can't.
I hear they are going to tour with Lady Gaga or perhaps a duet album with Taylor Swift!
