    What a remarkably beautiful (and BIG!) system. You guys do the cleanest installs we've EVER seen! 🙌

    I have a 2004 Monaco Diplomat 40' that has 4350 watts of solar on the roof, with a 6,000 watt 240/split phase inverter, and 15,360 WH of Battery storage.

    I installed 3320 watts on the roof and used a 6548 hybrid inverter and have 20.48kWh of batteries. The 48v system is connected to the inverter straight to the campers original converter and power system. Everything works off the solar system or off grid if needed.

    Sweet. Nice, professionally looking build. You will get some shade on those panels from the AC shrouds though, reducing their morning and afternoon performance, by not racking them over the AC units. That's the first time I've seen those Victron 24v batteries. They look nice, but their cycle rating seems a little low at only 2,500 cycles at 80% DOD. The manufacturer of the raw LiFiPo-4 prismatic cells I purchased last year rated them at an 8,000-cycle life at 80% DOD and 6,000 cycles at 100% DOD (under ideal conditions - 25 degrees C and .5c charge/discharge with compression). So, they are either hedging their bets or using lower grade cells. Knowing Victron, I suspect they are hedging their bets - under representing their actual performance to avoid any warranty claims. Still, this might cost them sales.
    Though they represent a far better value than Battleborn Gamechangers at $410/Kwh vs $723/Kwh for the Gamechangers, custom made batteries still have them beat hands down, if one is looking for a basic, well managed, long-lasting battery without all the bells and whistles. For example, last year I built a 7.1Kwh battery with the afore mentioned 6,000+ cycle cells for under $1,500 including 330A (1,200a surge) BMS w/5A active balancer or $211/Kwh. Though to be fair, doing so takes time and knowledge, making it the opposite of a drop-in battery.
    I just built a 16.38Kwh battery from the raw cells for well under $2k or $122/Kwh including a quality 200A 48v BMS, flexible busbars and compression. Coupled with a 4,400-watt racked solar array (in addition to my 7.1Kwh 12v system with a 620w liftable array on the side of my MH) this system allows me to run a 12Kbtu mini split heat pump 24/7 and allows occasional use of a second rooftop mounted AC. I built both of these systems myself along with all the components, including 6,000 watts of inverted 110v ac power for around $10k. For comparison, the equivalent amount of Battleborn gamechangers alone would cost almost $17k and even the cheaper Victron batteries, with 1/2 the cycle rating as mine, would cost $8.5k just for the batteries alone.

      We definitely like the Victron Smart Lithiumfor a native 24v battery vs stringing 12v together. The external Smart BMS is awesome. I'm sure they are under shooting the cycles. Sounds like you've put together a killer DIY setup for a nice price. Can definitely save some money on DIY cells and DIY install. Nice work!

    No where near the biggest one. Check out the TH-cam video with 7600 watt solar array on an RV. That RV owner stacked solar panels on a motorized sliding arm to expose the additional panels when parked.

      Where there is a will, there is a way! We took out the drawers above the breaker panel and went up the back wall and then inside the closet we went to the wall of the hallway.

    How do you deal with the large draw from the levelers or the tongue jack. The Orion I don’t believe is rated for that amperage

    • @mytsolar
      @mytsolar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No troubles at all! Could always parallel some Orions if needing more amperage.

    Curious about the noise level under the bed? Understandable though you don't have much choice on where to install. But I don't think I would be able to deal with that noise. Is there an noise insulation installed?

    • @mytsolar

    How about ventilation? What kind of solar panel brackets are you using on the roof and can they be tilted?

    • @mytsolar

      We use our specially sourced rail system for the brackets. They're easily removable but not tiltable.

      @@mytsolarI'd never put the batteries there for both the possible smell from a leak and the poisonous games but also due to zero climate control there.

    Do you find it necessary if you are using a bmv-712 to even install the visual round gage? I go back and fourth on whether or not to for a new system or just rely on the Bluetooth or have the Digital Touch screen.

    • @mytsolar
      @mytsolar  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure why anyone would want the BMV product today, the bluetooth app provides such better information than the round screen and the Touch 50/70 with the cerbo blasts both options out of the water.

    Dumb question... why 24 volts? I guess you it would allow you to use smaller wiring, but there has got to be another reason.

    • @mytsolar
      @mytsolar  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Smaller wiring, smaller/less charge controllers. Better battery options in this case.

    Can you share the cost of this build?

    • @mytsolar
      @mytsolar  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Certainly. This was approximately 23k. The 24v Victron battery system is expensive. So there are options for more battery storage in a more affordable package. This also includes our week long travel expenses as we come to the customer for the work. Wherever they are in the West.
