It's crazy how I started watching this channel because I'm a tackle junkie. Now I've purchased all kinds of tools and supplies and I now make my own lures. Thanks Nate for the inspiration!!
There's always some stick in the mud who just can't like things. Or maybe it's because Mr Marling is energized and sometimes slightly chaotic....I like slightly chaotic, it's normal people stuff.
Video 7 of asking for a Sockeye Salmon Lure, great video it’s real amazing how your confidence and sense of humor has grown since you started talking. I could see people who don’t even like wood work or fishing watch your videos just for your jokes
The laminate reminds me of recycling skateboards for projects. Your channel brings back memories of Every Third Thursday where a snowboard manufacturer comes up with unique ideas. You proved the lure works. Nice!
I just always appreciate you Nate and the inspiration that you've given me to make me even more active in my career and hobby. This ichthyologist thanks you!
man im so glad i found your channel. the baits you make are so cool. youve made me want to get back into fishing irl instead of just playing fishing planet.
Every one of these masterpieces are just chock full of visually satisfying components. - Congruent carving & sanding - Lead pour and cooling - Superglue absorbing into baking soda - Wires being twisted into hardware - Eyes dropping into place - Clear coating - Random Marling sounds Beautiful.
Excited to see a new video before my vacation is finished. Took 2 weeks off and spent half of it trying to carve new lure styles. Also built a 25* jig with magnets! Hopefully be sending you some stuff soon.
hey marling you inspired me to make my own bait and right now i amm working on my own lipless crank and i'm hand carving i will send you pictures in the mail with something else, you are great and nice child screaming in the last video
This past year my health has suffered tremendously. Normally I'd be fishing this time of year but thats just not possible. Just want to thank you for letting me live vicariously through you brother.
Okay 1st this might be the classiest bait you’ve ever made. Love it so much! 2nd I’ve been watching you for so long I crack up about your simple superglue jokes haha. Like when you turned and looked at the camera and said “that’s all it needs” lol 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
Recently picked up a bit of basswood and started carving my own baby largemouth to fish with in SC. Thanks for the new hobby! As far as the pen blank jointed bait, it’s awesome! That striping from the layers looked amazing!
I made my first lure carved from driftwood with all the stuff I have learned from your videos thank you so much I wish I could show you the finished product it ain't perfect but it works casts nicely and you can feel the action when reeling it in. You have inspired me greatly
You don't even know how excited I was to see a new vid your videos are the best. I'm fairly new to bass fishing and watch your videos every day after school, love the content! Also full superglue baking soda lure would be cool.
epic bait. do zachary thomas' idea that would be epic. I am a 14yo bait maker and i have been watching your channel since I started making baits. I just started working on a few that I like and was wondering if i sent them to you if you would fish with them and maybe put them in a bonus fishing segment. Love your channel so much
I’d love to get into making baits like most of these. A video on the basic tools, stencils, paints, etc would be appreciated. If anything your baits are a pice of art!
Well after watching all of your videos. In a record time binge I am inspired to give this a shot and make some of my own baits. Keep these videos coming absolutely love the content!
I have spent many a lockdown evening watching your superb lure making vids. Your humour along with your skills are just amazing love it. As for Chip my wife loves Chip and i think we are going to end up with a Chip ourselves soon. The " Chip get out of the strawberries" T shirt along with the mushroom patch saga really made us laugh. Keep up the good work and i await the next vid with anticipation.
That was a great lure! Got a possible suggestion, try putting tiny plastic wing fins at the back of a joint bait for more of an exaggerated swim action.
Omg Marling! 9:39am. Hitting it early for this one lol. As usual, awesome video. I have been 3d printing lures lately, but I still apply everything you teach with the wood lures. Keep them coming dude. Best channel on TH-cam.
It's crazy how I started watching this channel because I'm a tackle junkie. Now I've purchased all kinds of tools and supplies and I now make my own lures. Thanks Nate for the inspiration!!
I did exactly the same now I just need a nice and better spray brush
Haha ditto
Same 😂
I don’t know who could dislike a Marling baits video
Also near 500,000 congrats
sorry i can only reply because it won't let me comment normally

Same. Love this channel, it’s pretty therapeutic.

Good luck bro. Just finished mine the other day
That local guy didn't know he just met an up and coming, bait making Legend. Me and my buddy's know you and we live in the Ohio River Valley.
Pike are highly underrated to catch! Sick bait broham!
Agreed
Are they good to eat? I live on the west coast and we don’t have pike, musky or walleye. Walleye is delicious.
They look like our choupique! I wonder if they're related or taste the same
@@Blue_Collar_Hunter I've never eaten pike, but I have heard they taste good. Also heard they are tricky to fillet, because they are very boney.
@@aboveaveragebayleaf9216 Cool thanks for responding.
They should make a coffee table book of Marling baits, nice photos, fun facts, some of the catch phrases. I'd buy that!
Long live the ‘One Day’! Thanks for every upload. Always following along from Mexico City.
First 😁
I hit that like button in the first second of the video 😄please do more one day videos. the weather is nice, you have no excuses anymore
"That's pretty classy stuff." And that's why I keep coming back! You stay classy, San Diego!
Video 7 of asking for a Sockeye Salmon Lure, great video it’s real amazing how your confidence and sense of humor has grown since you started talking. I could see people who don’t even like wood work or fishing watch your videos just for your jokes
"I would murder a man for that small mouth" * 1 min later turns the camera to see a man sitting next to him

Do the OGs remember when you only played like Keltic music and it was all fast forwarded... I laughed every video 😂
As a wood guy I must say this bait was really cool looking
The laminate reminds me of recycling skateboards for projects. Your channel brings back memories of Every Third Thursday where a snowboard manufacturer comes up with unique ideas. You proved the lure works. Nice!
You’re the reason that my goal in life is to have a workshop for making lures. Not even kidding. Thanks
I'm currently buying a house with a heated garage. All I can think of is baits.
4:20 I love how the camera speed and the drill press are together and when you drill the eyes out, it looks like the drill isn't even moving. .
I just always appreciate you Nate and the inspiration that you've given me to make me even more active in my career and hobby. This ichthyologist thanks you!
I like the music over it toward the finishing of the bait
Because of you .My daughter and I spend alot more time together making and painting lures. Its awesome. We just bought shirts to.keep up the amazing job
Marling Bait video, another escape from reality for a few minutes. Thanks!
Strawberry top water please. Almost that time of the year!
Love your vids.
Very nice bait Nate 👍👍
For some reason, that reminds me of a vintage old school lure..
Like how some lures were painted almost like a hot rod
The fact that you are using steel wire shows that you are really a responsible person now
Every time I watch one of your videos I want to fish. Thank you.
I really like the laminated wood....;)
Alternating green/pine/charcoal gray would be an awesome color scheme.
Does anyone else tie flies while binge watching Marling Baits?
I was actually having a .308 reloading session... same same
@@jimmyjones2426 on occasion I'll load for my 30-06. Good stuff
a 20 minute video like this gets me a dozen or so nymphs or simi seals, definitely a worthwhile watching activity
Thats it i broke. I did a one day build. Turned out way better than i thought. Largemouth pattern crankbait. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Nice to see the MB way of making a lure from laminated timber. Seen others use old coloured skateboard decks as well, which looks extra cool.
That acoustic tune added a nice vibe😎
What a work of art. Very glad you did not lose this one.
Love the channel dude. You’ve inspired me to order some carving tools and build some of my own baits!
