Nate, as for selling and reselling your baits for a higher price, it’s called art. You should be highly proud of that. Take it as a compliment. What you’re making is going up in value and you get to see that something that you made wasn’t just thrown in a tacklebox and banged around, but very much appreciated and sought after. I’m also addicted to your channel… Love it man don’t change a thing. Well, change one thing, more CHIP!

You should put lure’s up for bidding, people are willing to pay that much from someone else selling it later. That person is profiting from your work. You are just under valuing your lures. It’s like art, it’s worth what people are willing to pay. And if you feel bad about taking that much money, donate whatever is over your normal price.

I won't go to details how it works but I think you could purches one and use the electronics from that unless you want to go extra small because I think it still might be a bit shorter than an inch or an inch long.

Regarding selling and people re-selling... thats the free market! I think its great. Nobody forced the buyer to pay $70 for the original $8 lure. It just means there's demand! Its probably more of a collector's item at that point. Who knows, 100 years from now a Marling Baits original could be worth thousands. You're not getting shoes made in China via slave labor and selling for $500. You're putting in hours of work. Be proud of that.

You should do a “bait build box” type deal, put a block of wood like balsa, little stencil, lip, pieces of wire to make line ties and hook hangers maybe a hook or two and a list of items the buyer would need to build his/her own little crank bait and put of videos to walk us along with you, small run of like 50 to see how many would be interested?? I’m only saying this because I’ve always wanted to build a bait with you instead of just listening to you blabber on in the background😂

When cut the profile shape, from the top, I use the scrap pice that I cut the lure from as a “cradle”. This holds the lure vertically as I run thru band saw. The bottom piece is flat then, making it easier to maneuver thru saw. I find I get better results that way. I make a lot of boo boo’s, so I have to come up with every little advantage I can find. Love tour videos. Thanks for your time

Nice to see my local bait fish get some much deserved attention! I wonder, since Striped bass are notorious bunker eaters, if the large wipers in the ponds you fish will be instinctually drawn to a bunker pattern, since its a lot of what they eat in the wild.
On a separate note, do you have the tools to try making an all-metal blade bait? Those are really good when it gets cold, since they can mimic a dieing baitfish so well when jigged off the bottom. Might be fun! Keep up the great work!!

In my not-very-humble opinion, this is one of the best videos/tutorials you've ever done. The level of both detail and sanity is unusually high, and I appreciate that. Moreover, as a longtime New England saltwater fisherman, I can completely support your conviction that this menhaden/pogy looks right. Hell, it's better than right, i.e., it's gorgeous. Even more important, perhaps, is the action of this bait in the water: It's REALLY good. I love using big wake baits for large striped bass, and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they would strike this menhaden with a vengeance. And that's my only concern. I'm just not sure that the glued-in screw eyes would hold up to the smashing strike and hard fight of a big striper in the 30- to 40-pound class. I know that through-wiring is a pain in the ass, but I thought I'd mention it. Finally, on a random, none-of-my-business note, I hope that Chelsea is still in your life. She is/was clearly special.
