U serious lol. Lyon overall was solid. But struggled when worked extendedly. Husso is a joke. A 892 when healthy and a 896 prior. He’s an ahl goalie. Reimer was acceptable. I would rather have cossa then husso. Most likely markstrom is the cheapest option.

@@danb239 35 29 9 and a .894 save percentage over a year and a half won’t work at all. And he is injury prone as well. That’s bad. Lyon pretty much saved Detroit. But he isn’t a 1a starter. Detroit needs a real starter and have Lyon as backup. He would be a great backup goalie. Husso is bad enough that yzerman might not be able to move him and his 5 mil contract.
An injury prone sub 900 starter doesn’t instill much confidence for 2024-25. But I can also see it being very difficult to move him with a 5 mil aav. Bringing in a third goalie would be smart. Stolarz would be great but he played pretty well in a small sample size. Might be tough to grab him. If they could Lyon and stolarz would make a way better tandem then Husso and Lyon.
Not at all comfortable going in to the season with the same goalers in nets . Lyon and a upgrade with husso in as the third is what I want . Be awesome if we got solarz or even better ulmark and have a pretty legit NHL starter of decent note .
I’m way behind on listening to these because I’ve been buried in coursework for my mid-life crisis career change, but I just had to say thank you for bringing up Cam Talbot. He played for my alma mater (which is rare because it is a tiny little school in a state not known for hockey). I knew it was a long shot last year, too, but it would be pretty cool to see a goalie from the place where I learned to be a hockey and Red Wings fan actually playing for them now that I live close enough to attend games. I do think his performance last season might have been an exception, though.

When Larkin went down with injuries twice this year. He made up for lost time, and got back to a point per game player, like he didn't miss out on any points. So to say Larkin is a flop, shows you don't watch the games or stats. It shows your ignorance of The Red Wings.

so this team is a resemblance of the mid 90’s team took getting mike vernon as the starter and chris osgood as the backup they finnally got over the losing in the playoffs! so i guess im saying is getting a new goalie and having husso as the backup just might get this team back in the league as contenders for playoffs?! 🤷♂️🤔👍

Agree with your take on needing to improve the team defense. The goalie is the last stop, not the only stop.

How can you say Husso was "sheltered" in St.Louis when he played 40 games
They most likely ment the number of shots he faced as opposed to other goalies that played 40 games.
That was my take on it anyway.
