Just did this repair on my Lexus 3GS, at first I was frustrated since after new digitizer install outcome was the same, touchscreen still not working. However pay attention to the socket where digitizer's wire goes. Make sure socket is closed, once wire is in place, try to gently pull the wire it should not come out of the socket. This was the case for me as I reasembeled the unit back together, wire was not fixed good enough and it fell out of the socket. Now everything works fine, thanks for a great video!
The cable that you stated "likes to pull out" it's a 5-hole 4-pin when you are removing the screen from the larger assembly...I don't suppose you have a wiring/pinout diagram for that? 2blacks, a green and a red.... The issue is that the connector has 5 holes. Not sure which to put them back into and I didn't snap a pic of it before-hand.
I know it’s old video but this is far far from a simple process and how do you get it put back together cause nothing is flush on mine and not going back right at all
I know this video is a long time ago. Just wanted to check if my lcd has the burn polariser or vinegar syndrome, do I replace the digitiser or the polariser on the lcd? Thanks in advance.

Very thankful for this video walkthrough. When I took my old digitizer off it broke in a few spots and I was kinda worried but I got all the glass off the screen and put the new one on I got from your website and everything is working great! I got my car last month and now I finally get to use the nav and change audio settings.

Did this myself but got white screen with vertical stripes. Did I forgot to connect something or broke some flat cables? :D
Update: It was the LCD flat cable, not connected all the way in :)

So if you can just buy the lcd screen + digitizer touch screen together, all you have to do is swap it out right? You wouldn't need to "split" the digitizer from the LCD?

Thanks for this walkthrough. Followed this and your other video (th-cam.com/video/h6BzC01nypQ/w-d-xo.html) and was able to replace the digitizer on my 2006 Prius. Only problem is that I went for a cheap digitizer from AliExpress and the optical quality is noticeably worse than the original.

I'm wondering if the eBay ones have the adhesive tape already on 🤷🏻♂️ if you do sell the digitizer please reply with a link I'd much more trust you over eBay stuff coming from China regardless if your product is from there as well. wouldn't too much heat applied when taking off the screen ruin the LCD screen? .....giving it a rainbow?
Too much heat may damage the LCD. I use the touch test - If it's too hot to touch, it's TOO HOT. Keep it touchable and you'll be fine
How much for you to do it for and where are you located?
How do I get a unit to turn on like that on the bench
My navigation screen went fully white. The radio works and all buttons still functions. When I touch the screen it gives me feedback but the screen stays white. Any ideas?

I did the solider repair because Lexus wanted 3k to repair it and I wasn't about to pay that and the solider trick was all that was on the internet a year and a half ago well it lasted till about a month ago. I just ordered my touch panel and have confidence it will be a great fix

Good video man, but damn that's a lot of work but well worth saving the money! My lexus is250 has the same problem too. I'm debating right now to buy a whole system or buy the digitizer. I think I should just put in the work like you. By far this is the best step by step video I have watched!!
