Before a mid-2021 deal got me an HX Stomp, I thought that Helix/HX was majority focused on traditional guitar effects, etc.; as primarily a keyboard/synth player, sometimes guitarist, and always pedal-fiend, I can now say that I’m DELIGHTED by how novel, experimental, weird, and competitive some of the blocks are, especially those introduced in the last few updates, like Tesselator or Shuffle Looper. HX Stomp may have kept me from buying some pedals, and now that it covers so much ground, I would recommend Helix/HX to anyone working in styles from the most traditional to the most ambient, avant, etc. Keep it up, Line 6!

super helpful video - this effect had been staring at me a few months, intimidating me 😂 now I'm still intimidated but at least I know how to make it do what it does

Feeding a Pitch echo +6 @ 112ms into this is absolute magic

Sounds kind of like the things you might hear in post production. Cool you can program them for real time use.

I'm going to spend hours trying to use this and several delays and reverbs combined with pitch shifter and other effects to create some musical, usable preset tone. I love my Helix Native because it has more DSP power than the hardware which I've owned the Helix LT. For example, there's one preset by Line 6 that has 6 delays in the chain block.

Jason, I don't know if others might have commented on this; but, your high-resolution screen is really hard to read on smaller screens (like my Retina MBP and iPad Pro tablet).

Have you tried turning up your picture quality? I was finding that too, but it's good as gold when I change that setting.

I think it could be cool to "unlatch" the footswitch for this one

Great explanation on how to use this strange effect. IMHO, not very musical or interesting to create real music with it. I still think sample & hold in the legacy effects is much more interesting, musical and has lots of rythm!

Put "This Thing Sucks - Don't Waste your Time" in the headline.
I got 1/2 way thru and realized it sucked. I scrolled forward here and there and never heard any tone I would ever want.
Basically just for special effects for a video or sci-fi movie

You know, everyone has different needs and use cases? It may suck for you, others might find it extremely interesting to use.
It's not for me either, but I'm grateful that Jason has taken his time (!) to inform us about this effect. It saves me the time to investigate.

May come late to the party here, but you can check John Nathan Cordy's demonstration of this effect. It's a very musical and useful way to do this. But keeping it short, this can be very useful for soundfx, an intro for a song, a ramp, music production kind of things.

Pretty useful if you want to do some cool cinematic reverb effects. I use it to run into a reverse delay, bleat chop trem and a mix heavy reverb underneath my dry signal. Creates some Chase Bliss Dark World type tones. What’s great about Helix/HX is the ability to stack effects. It’s exactly what companies do to create these cool unique pedals
