Sorry to be the one to have to say it but this is not the proper use of revisions. You are using them as markup comments to ask someone (for example your junior staff member) to make the needed changes in the office. Revisions are for placing on sheets to tell the version and what has already been updated, such as P1, C1, C2, etc, then these sheets are published to the field for contractors to work from. I would recommend doing some research on drawing standards as used in professional architecture offices. Or check out Paul Aubin on Linkedin Learning for more professional tutorials. Sorry for the negative, just don't want people starting on the wrong foot.
I would agree with MGs previous comments "Sorry to be the one to have to say it but this is not the proper use of revisions. Thank your for your video. Then i have a question. For example my revision number is 1-10 for finsihing drawing work, and from 1-10 for concrete drawings work, in the same revit file. So how can I separate revision cloud ?
how to add revision description in revit sheet if the model is big and need to be zoned or divided into lets say 4 sheet and 2 sheet has the same rev cloud but the updated revision description should be presented in all sheet?
I have been using Revit for a few years now but never bothered with the revision cloud tool. I understand your video, however when I add 2 or more sequences the only revision box line changes from Rev 1 to instead of adding a new sequence line below. How do I fix this and also how can I move the revision text so it is not in some random spot in the revision box?
Hello Sir, I have been following you from very initial days of your channel, watched your channel grow and it makes me Happy to see how you believed in yourself and been consistent all these years. But do you also work as an architect or just youtube tutorials?
Please make an elaborate video on "Painting in Revit" . For example, lets take Asian paints. How will I get the RBG value of a paint from the colour catalogue of Asian paints? . So that I can give the colour in Revit and I can execute the work in Site by buying that paint from Asian Paints. I'm confused. Please help !
Hi Great detailed video. Thank you for doing that. I just created a project with multiple sheets and tried to do revision schedule per sheet. But, its also showing up on all other sheets. I'm using Revit2020. Any suggestion??
Hello Mr. Balkan.. lets say these revisions are identified as numerical for addendum and alphabetical for bulletins. During addendum stage, there are multiple departments that have to be cleared prior to approvals. how would you recommend to display multiple revisions from different departments beginning a new set of numerical sequence without it messing up another addendum sequence? For example: (addendum stage) revisions about planning plan check so these will be numerical. then later I receive building plan check (addendum stage) and I want to also have these in numerical sequence but they will not restart from 1, it will begin with 2 because of planning plan check. How can I set building plan check to start with number 1 as well?
Such a terrible revision system in Revit with so many flaws when trying to work in a BIM environment. Auto desk should really step up their game on this.
Mr. Ben Saunders can u kindly outline why this system is terrible and it's bad limitations? Otherwise it appears very simple as there are other customizable ways to add tags, instructions, callouts and definitions etc.
DONALD, have you tried to use the inbuilt revision system in a working project environment? As you yourself say the system is very very simple and as such has little or no room for customisation. As a basic drawing construction sequence example -If you Were to try and move from a preliminary set of drawing revisions to a tender set of drawings and then to a construction set of drawings using prefixes revisions of P1,P2,P3,T1,T2,T3,C1,C2,C3 you will quickly realise that you can only use 2 letter prefixes at a time as you only have the option to change between numeric and alphanumeric. Therefore you can only have 2 prefix revisions Starting P or T not C, unless you delete all the preliminary revisions and start again when the job gets to construction stage. There is also no way to add custom parameters into the revision table as it is a system family. The clouds are fundamentally flawed in that you can only set the scale of the clouds per project not per instance. I could go on (but won’t) if you check the autodesk forums there are many other complaints about the very basic revision system in Revit dating back 6 years or more. Like so many things in Revit, it is a great basic system that with a little more allowed user customisation could be Amazing.
@@HELMETMEANTIME yes the revision sequence customization is a major issue, especially when mandated systems like BS1192 force us to use weird workarounds to make it work. I hope to see a third sequence option eventually which allows linking of a data table with custom revision codes.
You always have the answers for this ol' autocad drafter. You should be proud of your work.
That's amazing, we have just started this at college, I feel ahead of the game.
I am an architecture student and I must thanks for all you tutorials, they really help me in my revit work. Thanks again😁
You're a legend! Thanks for this BA, saved me a bunch of time.
Thank you! So helpful! I was going crazy trying to change the triangle from 1 to a 2! Very helpful, keep up the good work!

THANKS!
Thank you wery much.👃👃👃👃👃
Great info thanks.
Thanks in advance !
Very helpful Balkan. Pls have you already made a video on the different ways of duplicating views and how to properly document a project on sheets?
Thanks Keep going
Your videos are very useful :D

Helpful.. thanks
Mr Balkan, can you do a tutorial on use of formulas in revit parameters?!
very like your video
How you create a label for each revision for your title block?
Thank your for your video. Then i have a question. For example my revision number is 1-10 for finsihing drawing work,
and from 1-10 for concrete drawings work, in the same revit file. So how can I separate revision cloud ?
how to fill the cloud as you did on video image?
how to add revision description in revit sheet if the model is big and need to be zoned or divided into lets say 4 sheet and 2 sheet has the same rev cloud but the updated revision description should be presented in all sheet?

Awesome videos! is there any way to change the colour on the revision text that is in the title block ?
any tips on how to place louver windows on corrugated sheet profile(curtain wall)?

Hi, How do I add dimensions to the curso? (Great videos, btw, very helpful)
I cant work out how to label all my drawings as T1, its the first revision so no clouds?
Hi. My line thicknes doesnt work. Any idea why?
Hey! Can 2 revisions have different colors?
Hi Great detailed video. Thank you for doing that. I just created a project with multiple sheets and tried to do revision schedule per sheet. But, its also showing up on all other sheets. I'm using Revit2020. Any suggestion??
I would like some tutorial for copy/monitor tool. Thanks
or you should make some complex video about colaboration. I used in work sometimes worksets but i think i made somewhere mistake.
but how do I create a new revision number *without* showing a revision cloud on the drawing..?
oh I worked it out - go back in the sheet issue/revisions menu and change from show 'cloud and tag' to show 'none'. All very logical, thanks Revit 🙄
