    Used to own one and I loved it, wish I still had it. Swapped it for an EXUP, which I still have and have just put back on the road after many years parked in the garage. Very much looking forward to what you manage to achieve with this beautiful iconic bike.

    Errrr...... Baz; you need to find 'Plus-Gas' (liquid, not spray) releasing fluid and use it EVERYWHERE.
    Last I saw it in Halfords.
    Oh!!!!! IIRC the Varadero still had its original toolkit under the seat......

    I love the Katana, I have been searching for one for years, such a quirky looking motorcycle
    I just picked up a VFR400 NC21 from an old ladys garage been off the road for 12 years, I hope I can get her back on the road again.

      @@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport very tempting haha, but I love getting things running.
      Been going through all the parts and I have all of the hardest parts to find from the ram air intakes down to the original lower fairing clips.
      Was a good buy for £400

    Errr.... Baz, you should check if the bolts/set-screws were put in using something like Copaslip (to prevent them seizing (like any decent mechanic would) and it'll need washed out (cellulose thinners poss?)....

    • @SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport
      @SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport  ปีที่แล้ว

      There was definitely no anti seize used on any of these bolts mate. 😂

      Errr.... I blame that shadeite; Ruaidhri.
      Oh!!!!! glass-beading while shot-blasting might help.
      IIRC I saw a engine tripod in the video. Maybe Baz could ask about it?.......

      We will be doing something with the Varadero but she is absolutely rusted up solid on everything apart from the engine so I put it in storage for the time being.
      Would you be interested in seeing the revival?

    I think it's important to see you working on stripped bolts and things. Not everyone knows how to do that.

      Is that what you like to see?

    • @forandonbehalfof4753
      @forandonbehalfof4753 ปีที่แล้ว

      Errr.... Maybe explain how using something Copaslip when bolting stuff on allows you to 'over-torque' bolts/set-screws?
      Use only a light oil (3-in-1poss.?)
      GT-85 is pretty pants and the only thing WD-40 is good for is spraying on electrical wiring to repel water.
      Oh! If you don't like neighbour just spray WD-40 on their windscreen.
      To paraphrase Bob Marley: 'No Damage, No Crime'........

    Apart from this bike what do you do with the ones from Telford that you get running
    Do you sell them on AsIs or what?

  • @jimamizzi1
    @jimamizzi1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So what’s the deal, are you going to fix it and give it back? Did you buy it? Never the less it’s a great project

    • @SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport
      @SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport  ปีที่แล้ว

      We're a very small channel with a tiny budget so as much as we'd love to do a full restoration on this bike the pop up headlight alone would be the best part of £1000 to replace.
      The plan is to get it running and decide then wether to continue the project or return it to Ruaidri.
      All depends on how many likes, comments and shares it gets. 😉

    • @jimamizzi1
      @jimamizzi1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport I understand, been a subscriber for some time now, I would try and buy it if could afford it. Ruaidri said he can’t ride anymore. Other than that headlight the rest is a lot of labour, from what I’ve seen so far I think the engine will be fine, a quick hand hone, lap the valves and maybe some bearings. Looking forward to the next one cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

      It's a strange situation where when we go into detail and show more intricate details of the jobs such as stripping and cleaning carbs we can visibly see people clicking away in our analytics.
      It seems what people say they want and what they watch are two different things. 🤔
      Might have to start a second channel for more raw footage uploads I think. 🫡

    "Barn Find" "Abandoned" so many on TH-cam professing this to be the case when it means they're receiving or in possession of stolen goods.😂 They ain't got title deeds so it ain't theirs.
