I’ve got the same system on a VKAR bison but with a 20T and an anti roll bar, but running the same arrma wheels, the anti roll bar makes makes a world of a difference with the handling and really helps it out down all the power the 6s has to offer! Great build by the way! 👌🏾
Changing out a 6s system to another 6s system, make it make sense. I thought the goal was to improve. For all this you should have bought the 3s and upgrade. Me personally I'm taking a 6s up to 8s or higher.
Rpm makes an esc cage with a switch mount on it for the monster x. Has a couple options for the orientation as well. I run one on every castle setup I have! RPM73622 is the part number, and they've got one for the mamba x as well RPM73762. Both cost less than $15!

Have you ever had the opportunity to compare that to the 1717 1650 KV?

It should be more torque less top speed slightly bigger overall motor.
Nice, once you add 2.8 badlands or trenchers, this thing will backflip with the best of them!! Good Stuff man!!!
I’m going to install this same setup on my typhon. Not sure if I’m going to put it in my typhon 6s v5 or my new TLR tuned typhon. They both are mainly only used for speed runs and on road bashing.

I'm debating a typhon after I sell the one Stampede I rebuilt.
How do you like this combo one year later? Did it hold up? I have the same combo in my Talion.
No issues from me - I did end up selling the setup and the car though.

You should mojavifie it! I through on Mojave arms and axles with Kraton stub axles with mx28 and it just gets down so nice! I got a video on my channel of mine, it’s my favorite rc in fleet no doubt

What difference does the upgrade add compared to the spektrum original? I have the max and like the Traxxas system but like all guys I like to make it bigger better faster stronger!😂😂👊🏻
Not a big difference in this case just sensored now and preference.
Have you ever ran your typhon sensored with that castle combo in the typhon?
Yes, I always do. It’s really nice to drive sensored.
I want to fit this to a blx, think its possible?
It looks clean, why did you put the castle system in
Sensored and more experience with the castle system. But preference more than anything.
Be honest it’s Because spektrum electronics is 💩
Spektrum electronics are absolutely great. I love them and they are more durable than any other setup I’ve used. Matter of fact, this exact Castle setup in my Typhon is overheating.
Is the top end speed any better with that system?
It’s about the same
Arrma d5 pinions do not fit any Castle motors without honing them out with a Dremal.
have you tried street tires with that set up?
Not with this esc and motor but I put street tires on it to try - it was a little crazy though
How do you like the gearing your running? I've had a 1515 laying around for a few years now that I'm putting in a outcast 6s I was thinking about 17-21t pinion. Just trying to get ideas on thoughts.
I think it’s perfect like it is, definitely good acceleration.

Pretty sure it did
have you done a temp test after running the car for a little while?
I have and while a little warm, it never hit temp cutoff
Why did you switch out the Spektrum components? Are you still using the DX5 Rugged with this?
No I ended up selling the dx4. It didn’t provide much more value over the other radio and the receiver didn’t even have gyro even though they are so expensive. The castle system is much smoother in my opinion. Speed didn’t change much though.
@Arrma Army RC new to the hobby, forgive the noobness, but why doesn't the dx3 work with castle esc? And does it only work with spektrum esc's?
I don’t know why he is saying it doesn’t work with a castle esc. A transmitter only communicates with a receiver, not directly to the ESC.
@RC Recon that was my initial thought...but I figured I'm new to this so maybe there's something else going on...

Do you think the 2650kv castle motor paired with the mamba c esc with the same gearing will be to much for the typhon?
The regular mamba x over the mamba monster x? No I’d stick with the MMX but that motor should be fine

Yes
I was thinking that since the 2650kv castle motor has 450 more Kv than the 2200kv it will give the car a little more performance/power for off road use
What smc batteries are you using?
At the time of this video, 2 3S 5200mah hard pack
So for my x maxx 8s, what esc should i use towards what battery should i use also? Thanks
I recommend mmx8s and smc 6000 mah

@@GoKaioken 1 more question boss, so if you upgrade the motor on a x maxx and the esc, should you upgrade also the stock spur and pinion gears? Or you dont have to?
Yes that’s the ESC, and you don’t have to upgrade the stock gears. Run it, see how you like it, check the temps (or if it doesn’t shut off due to over temp, then you’re good) and then adjust gears from there.

How fast is it after changing esc and motor?
A tiny bit more responsive I think, but I kept the pinion and spur size the same.
