Quality. Go to a boat show and get on a Formula after getting on a Cruiser or Sea Ray or even a Grady White and it becomes more obvious why they are so much more expensive. It's like comparing a Mercedes to a Rolls Royce (finicky sliding lids aside). TBH my takeaway is generally that all boats are too expensive for what they are by half though. At 1-1.2 as equipped this boat would make sense to me, happily you can buy them used 3-5 years old for about $800k.
The quality of Formula boats is second to none. I urge people to check them out in person to better understand that. It's things you need to touch and feel that make the difference clear.

Great review we don’t see many formula boats in the UK unfortunately,I must buy more lottery tickets
With a 41" draft you need to be cautious navigating in most bays.
Just a note, Formula use automotive paint not dyed gel coat.
