    Super helpful, informative video. Can the 45 Litre model pass for a carry on bag while boarding a flight, or do airlines make you check it? Any advice would be most welcomed, appreciated.

      Thanks for watching and commenting - I'm glad it was helpful. You should be fine using it as a carry on (not as a personal item). Assuming you're in Europe, they tend to have slightly stricter size limitations...but if you throw it over your shoulder and roll on you'll have no problem getting it in the overhead.

      Crap! The straps are too long, right? I have to the same problem. I’m a 42L and can’t use the straps. People finally told me to keep jackets and shirts in a dry cleaning bag. That helps keep them from getting wrinkled and you should be able to rig straps to the bag

      I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. Ugh. That would take me packing multiple times just to conclude one thing: None of these are great with wrinkles. Many viewers have recommended using dry cleaner bags to maximize wrinkle resistance but each of these bags have issues with clothes wrinkling in my opinion. • @theocdtraveler
      @theocdtraveler  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@rodrigosalas3687 It really depends on the quality and the use of your bag. The Halfday has superior fabrics, aesthetics, and zippers and I give it a slight edge. The Moderne Gentleman is great, with superior organization and engineering but their quality sometimes suffers and I see a lot more returns on MG. I’d give the slight go ahead to the Premium Halfday.

    If you don't want to put your clothes into hotel room drawers, try putting them into packing cubes. They protect your clothes and help to organise your bag. I don't use the compression cubes, as all that zipping and unzipping seems like too much hassle to me. But each to his own.

      Definitely! I like packing cubes, especially for smaller items that can get lost in the shuffle of a duffle. (Didn’t intend to have that rhyme.) And it’s easier to just pull out or return a cube without having to riffle and shift through the whole bag.

      @theocdtraveler  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Het, great point! it’s definitely TSA approved in the states to go in the overhead. I might be a little more nervous in Europe, but I think you can get away with it as a carry-on bag. Definitely not a personal item.

    • @tanyas6643
      @tanyas6643 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Size wise it should work even in the overhead bins of most larger European airlines, if you don’t stuff it to the max. It’s probably a challenge for budget airlines with much stricter standards.

    • @theocdtraveler
      @theocdtraveler  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I'm conflicted. I gave the original Halfday a 4.4, the Premium Halfday a 4.6 and the Moderne Gentleman a 4.7. It comes down to your preference in the shoe compartment....overall the Premium Halfday is the best looking, best quality, and the best bet. The Moderne Gentleman has a much better shoe compartment but their zippers (which I hear they're improving) are not great. I would order the Premium Halfday and see how you like it...they have an easy return process according to their website so try it out!

      Underseat space is usually no bigger than 18”. The premium duffle is 22”. You could try squishing it, but that would defeat the purpose of traveling with a suit and dress shirts, keeping them as wrinkle free as possible. You may also be able to get away with it, if you don’t pack shoes in the shoe pouches and otherwise also pack light. - I haven’t tried that with this bag, but have managed to do so with other 20-23” bags that weren’t packed to the brim. - (Sorry for the “typos” and wild autocorrect, making this read crazy.
