      @@RevMonkey Nice! You are one lucky man. With its light weight, supercar looks, 6 speed manual and super charged 400 HP engine I believe this car has all the makings of a modern-day classic and a future collectable. With that said, when I get one, I will definitely be driving it and not storing it away in a garage.

      @@StandingUpForBetter Yeah, I believe you are correct. It is also an end of era car, being the last petrol car from Lotus.

    Thank you for the video! Having owned an Elise and Exige S, I was disappointed in the aesthetics at launch. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but there was just something about the looks of the blue launch car that didn’t jive well with me. However, with your video pointing out the difference in the upper black pack and privacy glass compared to the matching roof color and no privacy glass, it completely changed my outlook. I was on the fence about getting an Evora or an Emira, but your video has swayed me to the Emira with a matching roof color and no privacy glass. It is amazing how much of a difference that makes. Thanks again!

      Hi guys! I am between buying an Evora GT 410 SPORT or platine an order for the Emira. The Evora, is lighter, more powerful, sounds better, looks like a supercar & is magnificient to drive. The Emira looks beautiful and the interior is more refined. Will Lotus Cars invest some money for an Emira 410 or GT 430?🤔

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheOrangeEliseCup250 It is not guaranteed that Lotus will being out a GT Emira. Anything can happen to change that.
      For sheer experience, you won;t be able to beat an Exige. The Evora lays between the Exige and Emira and the GT 410 is a great car.
      If you wont want super refinement and you really like something more raw then get the Evora/Exige.

    Brilliant video, thank you! I test drove one day before yesterday, (-2 so definitely not the best day to be out in it!), I had the red, lower BP with diamond cut wheels, ice grey leather. looked fantastic but drove even better! Almost feels like a slightly larger Elise on the road but doesn’t feel as wide as it looks when you’re in it. It’s years since I last drove a Lotus and I’d forgotten just how incredible the steering feel is, even when taking it extreme carefully (-2 degrees and £5k insurance excess) you still feel every little thing and it’s such a refreshing, natural feeling. The tour chassis handles the bumps and potholes extremely well indeed. And the engine sound for me, along with the whine of the SC was absolutely spot on!! Well done Lotus you have nailed this car!

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, some people are negative about the car as they had such high expectations. I went out in the damp with CUP2s. in my other video, and it was amazing. Sports suspension too which I did find better than touring - having driven both.

      I did.. amazing colour. Not sure if we will ever see that triple yellow on a late Emira.

  • @fallenstatus
    @fallenstatus ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Want to hear your thoughts on this proposition.. The Emira's gearbox is the same Toyota derivative that was used in the Evora and cannot handle more than the 400-430hp it currently posses. In Canada, it costs the same as a Porsche GT4 but the difference is that with an exhaust and ecu chip tune you can easily push 450hp which is gt4rs numbers; in a manual configuration. Interior obviously goes to Lotus, exterior being subjective. The weight of both cars is similar although the one caveat is that the hydraulic steering on the Lotus is said to slightly edge out the Porsche's electronically assisted. Is there a decisive winner in your eyes or can you not go wrong with either of these two options?

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      " exterior being subjective. "
      Is there any doubt the Emira smashes the Porsche on looks? 😃
      You can;'t go wrong. Both of those, and the F-Type and Alpine are all superb cars.
      The Lotus just has the edge of a GTS but a similarly priced older GT4 might suit you better.
      If you want really raw then get an Exige.
      However, where the Emira really excels is that whole package is just so lush.
      I couldn.t bring myself to get a Cayman. The Lotus is new, different and very special.

    Really good and informative, think I would have a magma red, no black pack or privacy. Black wheels with black calipers, and the tan interior. Beautiful car for the money.

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that is my spec but for I went for yellow calipers but as I said in the video black on black really works to maximise the impact of the amazing paint. I went for Alcantara interior which I do love and it will be less slippery and I hear reports of the leather getting shiny quick but the tan leather, well, all of them look amazing with the black stripes.

      @@leemakin4643Thanks! I am fortunate.
      On looks alone the car is 1/3rd ok what it could be. Of course if it had 500HP then it would have been nearer £150k. I think at £78k it is a bargain.
      I have a Ferrari as well of course, but an older one. I think the newer Ferraris have lost the character that I like. Saying that, I LOVE the new 296.

      @@leemakin4643 I can tell you that Lotus are already making the carbon bits. These will be on the performance version AND available aftermarket for the Emira.
      Carbon seats are being made by a 3rd party. They will remove 50kg for a pair but the car will lose a lot of its comfort.

    Thank you so much for the video! I’ve placed a deposit on a non-first edition. I’m expecting delivery in 2024, so I still have time to chose my livery. I will be traveling from Hawaii to California in two weeks to see the colors in real life, and hopefully get a test drive. I was expecting to choose Verdant Green with the tan leather, but your concerns about visible scratches and the beauty of the Nimbus are causing me to reconsider. I still like the tan leather interior; do you think it will look good with the Nimbus exterior? Thanks again! 🙏🏾

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the red is best but tan will also look really good. The nimbus is the best actual color but the best color 'for the car', which is slightly different, is the magma red or nimbus.
      Where you live it is really sunny so the verdant should be a real consideration, though it may still look black in some cases.
      It's a long wait but will be super rare where you are and likely get more attention than a Ferrari or Lambo!

      The tan is really nice. Looks the most 'rich'.
      Nearly everybody is disappointed with the green. The feedback from the public on the darkness of it was immediate so they likely could have changed it. Oh well.
