You should definitely check out their music video for Yoshu Fukushu, a song about bullying in school. Hanabie, who was founded in middle school as an MTH cover band, has just as many tempo and genre changes in their songs. That is why I referred to MTH when you talked about NEMOPHILA's AMA-TE-RAS. They way the blend multiple genres and how they made it into one song with nice flows and fluent yet sometimes weird, but it works eventually. Just like AMA-TE-RAS which got the same vibes in term of mixing genres and make it sounds different yet so cool. Now you might be interested to check out 2 of MTH covers done by NEMOPHILA, Shimi and Zetsubo Billy... mind you not all bands can come up with good covers of MTH and probably you knew why (asides from 3 different singers they have) and NEMOPHILA did very well and looks effortless. 🤘🏻
Might be 5 months too late, but here's some info to put the song into perspective: MTH has always been a very controversial band, since they often sing about stuff that are very taboo in Japan. "Alien" is about the hypocrisy of Japanese music industry. How bands that start out with a raw sound and striking lyrics (the beginning of the video with them doing a gig in a warehouse with shoddy equipment) they sing about inequality, corrupt politicians, societal issues, environmental destruction, etc., and then suddenly they are in a produced CGI music video, where their sound and lyrics are tamed, to they can be sold to a wider audience, and by the end of the song they are on a kid's stage, with completely neutered sound and PG lyrics. Essentially the process of "selling out", MTH is sticking it to other bands who sold their souls and lost their identity for fame. The last part of the video, the whole "STOP WINNY UPLOAD!" thing is also a jab at other bands. Winny used to be a filesharing network much like Napster in the US, and had about the same effect. Also, much like Metallica, lots of Japanese bands openly spoke out against it and made several videos and messages to fans to stop using Winny and buy their music in the stores instead. MTH is lampooning those bands here, which makes it even funnier that Winny has been shut down for years at the time of this MV, which they even acknowledge at the end. The conversation at the end between Daisuke (singer) and Nao (drummer) goes something like this (I'm paraphrasing): - STOP USING WINNY! - Daisuke! Stop screaming at the kids! - They have to stop using Winny! - These kids don't even know what Winny is, it's been gone for years! We could be standing up against a lot of other things instead of this. Also, you look like your mother when you're angry! (Hence the photo of Daisuke's mom) A lot of MTH songs have some very deep and meaningful content that needs lots of context to those who are not familiar with MTH's history and Japanese culture, but it's well worth digging into. One of the other songs like this is Yoshu Fukushu, which is about how Ryo (guitarist/singer and also the brother of Nao) was bullied in school and how he learned to forgive his oppressors and dedicate his life to music.
@@JasoDip You certainly do :) For example, one of my personal favorite is "Yoshu Fukushu" is a really great song from MTH. Aside from being absolute fucking face-flaying metal - as with most MTH songs - it has deep meaning behind it. MTH never shied away from openly talking about taboo topics, and in Yoshu Fukushu they tell the story of how Ryo (guitarist/singer) was bullied in school and not even his sister could help him (who is actually Nao, the drummer). The monologue of Ryo after the opening part stuck with me ever since. He talks about how a kitchen scale's dial might only go up to a hundred grams, but if you put a large weight on it, the needle will just loop around and around and someone might mistakenly think it's a much lower number even when the weight is huge. It's the same with people and stress, they might not show it, but you can't tell just how many times "their dial has looped around" already. It's easy to misjudge just how much stress and anguish someone is under. (Hence the picture of him holding a kitchen scale and a knife.) The whole song is full of symbolism like this, of him being tortured by all this, then how he found music, the other band members and finally learned to forgive, but never forget. When they released this album, they actually created an entire manga about stories connected to the songs and included it with the album (hence the manga panels in the video, it's from that manga actually). MTH is a real hidden gem. On the surface level, they make incredible music, their signature being wildly mixing and mashing genres and time signature changes often several times in one song. You will never know what the next song will bring. With MTH you can only predict that they will unpredictable :D But if you dig deeper their lore and the MTH universe is incredibly deep. Unlike most bands who put up a front, MTH is very open with their trials and tribulations, all of their songs are full of story and meaning, much like Alien up here. "Let's talk about menkata kottlee" and "Hungry Pride" are about Ryo's battle with his weight, how he was suffering from being overweight his entire life, and when he finally got sick with gout, he actually changed his life, cut out all the unhealthy food and lost all the weight, which some fans took very harshly. A lot of overweight fans identified with fat Ryo and after he lost all the weight they took it as a slight, and some were even sending him angry fanmail telling him to gain the weight back. In the song at the megaphone part he is outright telling these fans to fuck off, "What, you want me to get sick again? To be fat, unhealthy? No! This is the new me, and if you don't like it you can fuck off!". Or there's VAP, a quirky punk-rock song, which is basically them saying goodbye to their old label VAP when they transferred to Warner Music. It's funny because it's actually Daisuke playing the drums in that song and Nao is singing. The reason is because Daisuke hurt his neck and had to get surgery, hence the neckbrace. They had to cancel a lot of live shows because of this, but they still wanted to give something to the fans, so they made that song and music video to basically tide the fans over until Daisuke gets better and they can do shows again. And yea, Daisuke can actually play the drums, although not as well as Nao. There are a *lot* more songs with really interesting, deep or funny backstories from MTH. I can only encourage you to look into them more, if for nothing else, their incredible music.
You need to check out their song Yoshu Fukushu. This band is a huge influence on JRock and Metal. Especially 8mportant to female drummers as several point to their drummer, Nao as an inspiration aka Akane from Band Maid and Tamu from Nemophila.
That's MTH for you. More WTF per minute than almost any other band. I'm told it isn't a lot less WTF even if you speak Japanese because they absolutely love to troll their audience, and a lot of the lyrics aren't comprehensible regardless. Give 'em a few more songs, and maybe try the MTH covers by Nemophila for some extra fun! Nemophila has done two of them.

Next ... maximum the hormone - utsukushiki ... is full energy riff
You need to check out their song Yoshu Fukushu. This band is a huge influence on JRock and Metal. Especially 8mportant to female drummers as several point to their drummer, Nao as an inspiration aka Akane from Band Maid and Tamu from Nemophila.
In the end it sounds like
Ruffy and Sanji from One Piece 😬😬
It just sounds like .. its not i know 😂😂
That's MTH for you.
