He kept asking if I wanted to leave and all I remember saying was no way man we’re staying. We’d always go to the USC game when ND came to town. 2 years before this game at the Colosseum I remember under the CW era, robert Hughes got thrown out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct because ND was getting beat to a pulse by USC. Hughes was the only ND player that stood up to the trash talk and pushed back. Unfortunate he got thrown out but leaving that game my dad said “we’ll be back don’t worry” seeing robert Hughes come in and drive it straight down their throats changed this rivalry. He took it personal and made them pay. 33 was a beast! Go Irish ☘️
The Irish did not flinch in college football's best rivalry. Hughes' performance in the final drive is one we'll always remember. Can't wait for next year. Remember, we have only one goal, a National championship. Go IRISH!! The echoes, well you know the rest. Let's make it happen.
Great way to welcome in Coach Kelly with a huge win against USC. Hopefully with this new recruiting class we can see quite a few more wins against these guys, maybe even start an 8 year streak of our own?
I was there Saturday. I'd say 30% of the USC fans left their seats because it started raining, but it didn't phase the Irish fans. We all stayed out there, hoping to see what eventually happened; USC walking off the field as losers when the clock expired. It was a great night for Irish fans in the Coliseum and abroad.
floyd is back, have an EE freshman QB perfect for Kelly's offense. two EE DEs that are insane. Eifert will have another good season. hopefully Wood gets the ball rolling early, his SC game was very nice. i loved his run at :21, would have been even better if he went down with the ball. incredible ST with Ruffer returning, and freshman Kyle Brindza most likely handling kick offs. H. Smith, G. Gray, Ruffer and Floyd are all back next year!!
There may be medical redshirts, players leaving early, other players who may not have their scholarships renewed. I could see 15 in this class. We still have two that could count towards last years class to bring it to 17.
@Tomko401 USC already has 10 commits for next years class and will likely take 5-7 more even with the limitations in place. They will not have any bowl sanctions so that will not be an issue with recruiting. SC's 10 commits for 2012 outrank ND's 13. Even with sanctions, Kiffin & Co. still outrecruit ND. The incoming class right now was consensus top 5. Scholarship reductions are not going to hurt as much as you think.

The field is where it counts. ND has been 2nd tier since Holtz left in '96. Davis, Wellingham and Weis all failed as coach. I know you're hopes are high for the dude from Cincy. I just can't stand your football program nor the Duke Blue Devils in Basketball.
