Zorich was a badass from the south side of Chicago!! A true leader, warrior and even got his law degree from ND...wow! One of my all-time favs at ND. He was always involved in his community which says alot about him as a person. A true ND man. God bless you always Chris...~ San Jose, ca
Zorich was the mvp in that orange bowl game v. Colorado he had a massive game. Sad follow up to that game is that was the last game his mother ever saw him play as the next day Chris went home and found his mother passed away after breaking the door down. He was a true Chicago football player who went to CVS the same high school as Butkus
Zorich was a beast. Holtz moving him from LB to NT, ala Randy White, was a genius move. He was faster than the OL trying to block him and stronger than them, too. He was a game wrecker. Think an Aaron Donald prequel. If he hadn't injured his knee, he could've been a force in the NFL, in the right scheme. At 266 lbs, he probably wasn't going to be a dominant NT/DT in the NFL (although he did beef up to 280 with da Bears). Would've been better to have him drop 15 and play LB again.
After Notre Dame's heartbreaking 10-9 loss, Chris flew home to Chicago to find his diabetic mother dead literally of a broken heart. Chris' mom, his best friend, the woman he called twice a day all through college, the one person he truly lived for, was dead. And in some ways Chris has never been the same.
I don't like how modern players have to wear long shirts. These jerseys looked awesome. Anything to separate college football from the lame NFL rules. Defensive linemen, receivers and linebackers wearing low numbers, ripped up belly jerseys, and an all-around better atmosphere for football.
Im not sure if people quite understand the ferocity of Chris Zorich, let alone playing nose tackle! If you have ever played noseguard, then you know where im coming from.

Chris Zorich deserve to be in College Football Hall of Fame.
Facts
How I miss the uniforms & the grass field & having 5* recruits at every position like we had in the late 80s & early 90s.

Reggie White and Zorro were my football heroes in high school
No, somebody commented he was the best LB, also the short cut off jerseys were the thing in the 90's. It was awesome on hot games

It makes it harder for tacklers to get a hold of you. Zorich was one of the toughest players in college FB.
Zorro was a BEAST!!!

This video is awesome.
Thank you.
He was the best college defensive lineman I ever saw...and he could have been a superstar in the pros. It just wasn't in the cards.
He was a solid pro
Zorro was one of the all time beasts of CFB!

I disagree. The short jersey was cool.

He played for duh Bears as a pro.
@ericvid You're confusing the name of the YT page. I know he wasn't a linebacker.
Hail Zorro !
He was a nose tackle, not a line backer.
