  • The reasons aftermarket is better than OEM in my opinion. I installed a water pump on my Jaguar Xjl supercharger and save $100s dollars. The new aftermarket water pump was built better and cost a lot less. Save money and get better working parts.

Spring gave out within 6 years. Now it's just hanging down. The vehicle is rarely driven and kept in the garage. 115,000 miles. The dealer wants $800.00 for a new one. Wow! • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't change my coolant because I had did it a few thousand miles before this happened. Your coolant should last between 70,000 to 100,000. It depends on how much coolant you lose doing this job. If you lose too much you might as well just do a flush. But to answer your question I didn't flush my system.

    Great video how did you drain the coolant ?

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since I had a hole in my water pump all the water had came out. I know that's not the most optimal way to do it but that's how I got all the coolant out because it came out on its own. I will say if you have water still in the engine it will come out as soon as you take the water pump off. So if you remove the lower radiator hose that's how you can drain your fluid. Just make sure to catch the radiator fluid so it doesn't go down the street or drain or into your grass.

    Hi, not sure if youre still responding to this video. Ill be as brief as i can. 2015 XF Sport 3.0 AWD Supercharged. Looks to be the same engine, maybe same parts as yours. I noticed my low coolant light was on, topped it of. noticed no heat from hvac. Got a little concerned so headed home. sitting at a red light, I saw a cloud of steam and a loud pop. Less than five minutes later, I made it home. No knocking or clicking. My thermostat had blown apart at the seam. Im getting ready to install the new one and Im wondering if the water pump coukd be the cause. Im just trying to prevent having to take it all apart again. P.S. I broke that little overflow inlet. Do you have the link for that part. I didnt see it. Thanks

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you described was very similar to my situation. I saw steam coming up from under the hood and I got home as fast as I could. One of those links is that little holes you're talking about. I believe I labeled it water pump holes but one of those links is that part that you're talking about. Like I said in the video if you contact the dealer that's $180 to a $200 part. On Amazon I believe it's under 20. Let me know how it all turns out, I hope for the best. Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for watching.
